  1. This entire issue appears to, unfortunately, be on the road to an Epic fail.
  2. Soon, we will be receiving comic books that CGC forgot to slab, simply placed it in a box and off it went. I joke ... ... ... hopefully.
  3. Two magazines Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging, Thursday, June 29
  4. Yes! I have been signed-out inside and out, upside down, left and right side, backward, forward, in reverse ... Okay, I'll stop now.
  5. Perhaps, as the HC excuse notes, no $ from HC to CGC to pay for services rendered. Granted, this may have been occurring for a period of time and, perhaps, a $ threshold was reached. Of course, as generally with any business, outside of those involved in illegal activities that will certainly likely collect one way or another, if you are not being paid for your services, preferably as established, you better quickly address that or you may very soon be a former business. Edit: As Wombat notes.
  6. Other board members may have more precise information to provide since I have never had CCS press a comic book and, thus, not had to submit an ME to them but, having written that, you should likely contact CGC/CCS concerning this matter and/or Mike, the CGC representative on the boards, as he may be able to assist you.
  7. CGC is in zombie land with my submissions: my May two magazine sub is still at SfG and the 25 comic book sub has not yet been opened. Perhaps this year I will have the second most orders I have ever had waiting for some action. Clearly, I expect faster service than CGC can provide.
  8. Yes, the previous boxes were quite good. I also still have all the ones I received and the comic books that arrived in them. But who cares about those comic books when I have the boxes.
  9. To add to the discussion of the condition of the comic book. If you decide to remove it form the bag, it may very well have a vertical indentation (line?) on the center of the back cover where the seam of the bag presses/ed against the comic book. However, if the comic book was never pressed/squeezed by, for example, other comic books by being stored in a short or long box, etc., the indentation may not be present.
  10. Very sad news and as many of us unfortunately know, the loss of a parent is one of the hardest to bear. However, remembering the love you shared and all the wonderful times you had makes it slightly less painful. Take care Mike.
  11. The threads of this type that I have experienced over my years on this board have, to my recollection and unfortunately, typically ended badly in that the individual or company in question has not properly if at all addressed the issues. As I always do and despite my better judgement, I hope that this time the opposite will be true. However, I am a realist in this regard and, thus, will not hold my breath in anticipation of such.
  12. 3) CGC acknowledged delivery, Thursday, June 22.
  13. Are these four comic books that were graded for, I'll write, several years or very recently? Either way, I have had such occur in both instances. In the case of those graded some time ago, CGC perhaps never entered the certification number into the system or there may be a technical issue where the system fails to locate the number. In the case of recently graded ones, CGC may not (edit) have (end edit) yet entered them. Although you have likely done this, verify that you have entered the correct numbers or done so in the correct slots. Lastly, if these are fine, contact CGC (Mike) so that they may correct the problem as soon as possible.
  14. I'll note as a friendly gesture, and as you may be aware, that a great many registry participants have worked on their sets for approximately 15 plus years, also spending a great amount of money without thought to investment, and simply because they have loved holding, reading and collecting comic books for 40 plus years.
  15. The company should have paid you interest, but that may have delayed your refund another 10 years.
  16. Pat, I am doing well and I hope you and your family are likewise. As for submitting, I get the urge every two years or so to submit more than usual. Primarily covers that I like with a few keys, minor and otherwise, thrown in along with a current "hot" book. They are all for my collection so if I ever decide to sell any of them perhaps the hot book will get lukewarm at some point in the future along with the others.
  17. 2) Delivered on Tuesday, June 20 to CGC's PO Box.
  18. "I like pie." Edit: I do, but I quoted Michael's "she said".
  19. No Country for Old Men Finished All the Pretty Horses, The Orchard Keeper, and Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West. Rereading all of Cormac McCarthy's works. I do so every decade or so. Lastly, rest in peace Mr. McCarthy.
  20. Twenty-five comic book modern submission. 1) Mailed to CGC on Saturday, June 17, 2023, via USPS Priority Mail.
