  8. Pat, Good to hear. On a side note, I am still getting together my next sub to CGC. At the rate that I'm assembling it, it may be 2020 before it reaches CGC.
  9. Well, now, I am even happier than I was a minute earlier that I stayed true to not purchasing any variant covers for any comic book that is priced above cover price at release; and hopefully a discount is offered at release.
  10. ComicXposure is to ethical business practices what a Big Mac is to healthy eating.
  11. Yes, yes indeed. Although, of course, the "final" version of the set will be determined by CGC, I decided to submit "all" (we'll see) of Aparo's comic book covers for my set proposal Best, Manuel
  12. Hello, I request that a set of Jim Aparo covers be created. 13. Hello, Please review again the points for Detective Comics 402 as I believe that a substantial increase is warranted because a CGC graded 9.6 copy recently sold for $3000 in an auction format. Once again, thank you for your consideration.
  14. All I receive, and ever have, from HAG is the fold-out and one leaf flyers. HAG has never "presented" me with a "$50" catalog as, apparently, I have not "presented" them with enough $.
  15. What you did is combine what I wrote concerning BP; I have not received an email from Hank/BP and, thus, have been unable to forward the pics of the damaged comics to BP; and my general agreement with you that, eBay or otherwise, I will provide pics of damaged books to a seller when I request replacement copies.
  16. Yes, indeed; and, as a customer, I will very gladly provide photographs or scans of a comic book.
  17. Thank you, I responded to your pm. I'll telephone Hank on Monday, April 9.
  18. Correction: I reviewed my comic book grading log and noted that I received damaged DNM 5 Convention Edition cover copies, not virgin cover copies.
  19. ComicXposure is another matter altogether.
  20. Since, in fact, I am no longer a local, having been raised in Union City and Weehawken, NJ, I telephoned Bulletproof Comics twice and spoke with Hank both times. During our first conversation, I explained the damage that two of the four copies of DNM 5 (Edit) virgin cover that I received had and that I wished to return them for replacement copies; in fact, all four copies have color breaking spine ticks on the front covers and several dings on the back covers. Hank informed me that he would forward an email with a return shipping label and asked me to provide him photographs of the damaged books by responding to the email that he would send me, to which I agreed. I explained that it would take me three days, until Friday of that week, to send photographs since at that moment I was on my way to the airport for a business trip. Upon my return, on Friday, seeing no email from Hank, I telephoned him again and, again, he informed me that he would send an email with a return shipping label. I informed him that no later than Sunday of that week I would forward the photographs as I had several business meetings that day and Saturday. To this day, Hank has not sent me an email nor, of course, a return label. At this point, i very much doubt that he will. Thus, unlike you, I unfortunately am experiencing quite a bit of a hassle attempting to have BC replace the two damaged copies that it sent me. The lesson that I have learned, once again, from this is that my aversion to purchasing other than "standard" variant covers for a discount off of the cover price has served me well. I broke that practice with the BC DNM covers and, well ... Of course, I did not purchase BP's variant cover of Action Comics 1000 or copies of DNM 6 Convention Edition based on my experience with DNM 5; and, unless this matter is resolved; hope springs eternal; I will not make any further purchases from BP (clearly, BP does not need me in the slightest to purchase from it as it has more than enough customers). Now, as I noted in my original post, the probability is that other folks had received from BP 9.8 copies of DNM (Edit #2) virgin covers 5, you and another poster confirmed that likelihood.
  21. Aparo's covers for Detective Comics 440 and 444 are two of my favorite ones; although all of Aparo's covers are my favorite at one time or another.
  22. Hello, I request a point increase for Detective Comics 474 from the current 400 to 800 based on the demand and, consequently, strong sale prices for this issue. Some examples of recent sale prices are: ComicLink: CGC 9.8, sold for $425.00; and CGC 9.6 sold for $220.00. eBay: CGC 9.8, sold for $485.00; and CGC 9.6 sold for $180.00. As always, thank you for your time and consideration.
  23. Gorgeous book. I have been planning, for about a decade at this point, to assemble a list of all of Aparo's covers to submit to CGC in order for them to create an "Aparo Cover" set; there is always something else that needs to be done. If I can find the time in the "comic" (coming) months, perhaps I'll commence assembling the list.
  24. Unfortunately, based on the copies that I have seen, I have noticed that since Bulletproof Comics started selling "non-signature" CGC graded 9.8 (NM/M) copies of Dark Nights Metal issues, its raw virgin cover copies (since it does not sell CGC graded copies of the trade cover copies), are now, at best, 9.6 (NM+), with some lower (as low as 9.0 (VF/NM) based, again, on the copies that I have seen). Previously, you would more often than not receive 9.8 copies of DNM issues from BP. It appears that BP is pulling and sending to CGC some (all?) of the 9.8 copies from each shipment of DNM that it received. Granted, BP states in the listing for each raw issue number of DNM that copies are 9.6; sometimes 9.4 (NM) and it has received 9.4 and 9.6 grades on its signature series CGC submissions of DNM issues. Alas, it may be that the BP 9.8 copy "gravy train" may be a thing of the past. Lastly, the probability, of course, is that some folks have still received raw DNM virgin cover 9.8 copies from BP since it started selling non-signature CGC graded 9.8 copies of this series.
