  1. The 18 comic book MSL submission still marked as "Received" as of today, Saturday, November 28, 2020. "Scheduled for Grading" on Monday, November 30, 2020. A 35 comic book MSL submission mailed to CGC on Friday, November 27, 2020. Arrived at CGC on Monday, November 30, 2020. Marked "Received" by CGC on _______.(?)
  2. Like many, my interest in reading, collecting, and having CGC grade some of my comic books ebbs and flows. Presently, I am again enjoying purchasing a few new comic books and sending those whose covers I like to CGC for grading. I also submit to CGC for grading, on occasion, some of my original owner and back issue purchased comic books from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s as the great bulk of my original owner and back issue purchases from the gold to copper ages are stored in another state and I will very likely not fully delve into those boxes again until my retirement. I only ever keep the comic books I have had graded as I have yet to ever sell a single one/comic book, displaying them as it strikes me. As I noted, my interest in comic books, and, for that matter, my other hobbies, rises and falls as is, arguably, to be expected. Still, thus far, I always return to them sooner rather than later. Perhaps the OP will at some point again find his "comic book interest" peaking.

  4. I always ask CGC to place my comic books in E. Gerber Mylites4 and then in E. Gerber Archives prior to slabbing. CGC ignores me.
  5. Yes, new comic books are, generally, too expensive. Still, I continue to purchase a few of them every week as I hope to one day corner a part of the "market" with all my comic books when the world, or at least the USA, runs out of toilet paper.
  6. That is surprising, at least to me, as I occasionally order from Legacy Comics and the store promptly ships my orders. Granted, a great many of the Spawn issues that I receive from Legacy, unfortunately, always have the spine ticks, frequently color breaking, numerous, and relatively large, that posters on the Spawn thread in the modern section note for many Spawn issues.
  7. The op's problem may be easily resolved, as stated repeatedly in this thread, by: 1) learning hot to grade and 2) deriving from number 1, when submitting modern age comic books only submit comic books that CGC will grade, at minimum (heck, go for that 9.9 and/or 10), 9.8. If you don't receive 9.8 grades on all your modern age submissions, you may wish to try and try again.
  8. Indeed! My scanner works "overtime" prior to every submission.
  9. CGC still inserts micro-chamber paper inside the books when they slab them as one of the papers is very slightly sticking out from one of the 25 modern age comic books that I received from CGC November 12.
  10. Yes, what you describe is what occurred. I will not add any of these comic books to my registry sets but, presently, the comic books are not found via a Verify CGC (Edit) Certification (Hum, a "new" word: "Ceriftication") search. I'm hopeful that CGC will correct this in "short order" and, thus, I will have no need to telephone them concerning this matter.
  11. The 25 MST was delivered to me on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Apparently, CGC has not had the opportunity to change the order from G/QC to F/I/S. Since shipments from CGC have taken at most ten days to reach me, the comic books were likely shipped on Monday, November 2, 2020.
  12. Thank you, but I prefer the OttlLite Task Lamb for final grading, combined with, as I wrote, a magnifying glass, as it is quite compact, taking very little room on my grading table. However, I do have two OttLite Ultimate 3-in-1 Craft Lamp, 24 Watt, Floor Lamp, Table Lamp, Clamp-On Lamp one each for my model train (N and HO scales primarily with some O scale thrown in) and plastic model "work." Clearly, I have far too many hobbies. I forgot to add, as I'm sure you know, that OttLite also has a Task Lamp with a magnifying "glass" but having used it at a friends house I find the magnification attachment uncomfortable to use for grading comic books. .
  13. Indeed. I have very bright lighting in my "grading room," including an OttLite Task Lamp which I use in combination with a magnifying glass.
  14. 25 comic books MST sub, at G/QC since October 28, 2020 18 comic books MST sub marked "Received" on November 5, 2020. 11/5/20 18 MODERN Received 9/23/20 25 MODERN Grading / Quality Control
  15. I did not know that you reside in Canada. Pardon me, yes I did as it states such in your post. I live in MD and since E. Gerber is located in Baltimore, MD, I pay shipping cost and sales tax; depending on the state they reside in, many USA residents now also pay both. I have never inquired as to whether I may collect my order at their office since I calculated long ago that between my time, gasoline, wear and tear on my vehicle, etc., I save money by paying the cost of shipping.
  16. I purchase all of my acid free comic book and magazine supplies at https://www.egerber.com/.
  17. In my area the US Postal Service provides far superior service than do UPS, except one driver is very good, and FedEx. In fact, there are two FedEx drivers that, based on what I and my family have seen, are responsible for delivering heavy over-sized packages and at least twice in the past several months they have left packages, items we did not purchase, that were at least 6' in length and 4' in width on our front path only to return a few minutes later and collect them. Clearly, they realized they had incorrectly delivered them.
  18. I imagine like many board members, as a teenager, around 13 to 16 years old, I overpaid for DC, Marvel, EC, etc., keys because, as the post directly above this one notes, I failed to do my research. Of course, as "luck" would have it, those keys, 98-99% of them still raw after all these years, are worth multiples of what I purchased them for. Of course, it could have gone the other way and my "$100.00" purchase could today be worth $25.00.
  19. I'm sorry to learn that. However, I will also write, beautiful books.
  20. G/QC on October 28, 2020. 18 comic books MST submission arrived at CGC on October 26, 2020; not yet noted as received as of October 28. Well, "it is" 44 days.
  21. Perhaps "Fast Track" should be renamed "Slow Track" and "Slow Track" renamed "Sit Down and Wait."
  22. The comic book also likely got gravy on it considering how much it has suffered.
