  1. Nice book. I eventually want to get that one as well.
  2. Just got these scanned. The Batman's came from this past VCC and the Torch came from my LCS.
  3. If you are looking for 7.5 or under, it shouldn't be hard to find any of these books. It's when you get to 9.4 or higher, that it get's a little tough to find them. Out of the 11-93 run; 73, 74 and 79 are the toughest to find in 9.0 or higher. And they get very pricey in those grades. Thanks Casey. I am however doing 7.5 and over, not under. I will probably make most of the reprint issues 8.5 or higher I have spent so much on my high grade bronze run that it will be nice to buy cheap books again. I will keep an eye out for good copies of 73,74 and 79. Thanks, Leon.
  4. Anyone out there. (Shouts into the wind.) Am I the only one collecting theses things now. Anyway it should be obvious I am not really after super high grade on these right now, though 7.5 seems to be my low cut off point at the moment. After I fill in most of my holes I will worry about upgrading them. So what are the hard to get in grade books from this run? 1-93. I know 1-66 are new and 67-93 are reprints. I know Neal Adams did a few covers, but which books are the most difficult to acquire besides #1-10?
  5. Posted these in the Comic Link Wins thread but they need to be here as well. Got 5 silver age books. Most for under $35.00.
  6. WOW. No silver X-Men post since before Christmas. Well I am starting to move over into the Silver age from the Bronze so that will change. Here is a book I just purchased from Steve Borock this morning before the ascension.
  7. Way overdue kudos to the following. All of these guys are tops. Sorry for taking so long. BeachBum Comicdey Loki mschmidt cujobyte MCMiles Rich_Henn ft88 kimik mar-vell joeypost r1970d BlowUpTheMoon Spiderman-on-tilt shark2557 Hope I did not forget anyone.
  8. Just purchased this from the "for sale" thread yesterday. I am posting it here because this was my very first ASM purchased from the racks as a kid. I have always been keeping an eye out for a nice cheap copy and it finally turned up. I purchased ASM #177 and MTU #66 and read them until the covers were coming off. Very happy camper.

    Wow.

Super Duper Journal Entry. Dear journal, It has been a long time since my last entry.... Oh, wait a minute, I don't keep journal entries. Never have. And if you are reading this, shame on you, reading other peoples journals. I thought I could trust you to stay out of my computer. If you are still reading this, the proper authorities have been contacted and dispatched to your residence. Bet ya think twice about snooping in other peoples journals now huh?
  10. Sine this thread has taken over, here are my latest bronze X-Men books.
  11. Super Kudos to BEACHBUM!!! Just purchased a batch of books from Dre and he is an A number 1 guy. He made a mental error with his paypal address and I ended up sending money to cyberspace. Anyway to help make up for my trouble he put in a free copy of GS X-Men #2, 9.0 with my order. WOW, what a great thing to do. Thanks a million Dre. See you around the Bronze boards. Leon.
  12. Big Kudos to ACES For my Incredible Hulks, 106,107,111. They all look great.
  13. Just picked these three up from my LCS. All three for $25
  14. Doc. Thought you were getting out of the X-Men business. I guess not completely.
  15. Just upgraded my Giant Size X-Men #1 CGC 4.5 to this: Got if from my local comic shop and he gave me these three for free:
  16. Just went up to Dallas for the weekend. I stayed in Cedar Hill and my friend recommended a place with comics in Duncanville. I believe it was called "Books and Games". Anyway I went in and started talking with the lady behind the counter. Come to find out she is good friends with my LCS owner here in Beaumont. Small world. Turns out that all the good stuff had been taken to the Chicago show so I did not have many high grade books to find. I ended up pulling these three from the regular long boxes. I got all three for under $40 and had a good conversation about the comic business at the same time. If you are ever in South Dallas I recommend this store.
  17. KUDOS to BeachBum. Thanks for selling me two sweet copies of X-Men 120 and 121 from your personal collection. Leon.
  18. Just discoverd this thread and wanted to give kudos to all the people I have purchased from. Everyone on this list has been a pleasure to deal with. Njoyder (Jay) Marvel Team-Up #65 Rich_Hen (Richard) X-Men 96, 114, 115 deamentia (Jason) ASM 177,179,180 BeachBum (Dre) X-Men annual #3 TheEdge (Mike) 6 X-Men Books all the way from Canada. BlowUpTheMoon (Christian) Well we almost had a deal if I had not forgotten I had already placed a bid on ebay for the exact same book. Thanks for being understanding buddy. That about covers it. I am now a big fan about purchasing on the boards when I can thanks to all of you. Leon.
  19. Some books I just got back today from CGC. Still don't have a large scanner for CGC books so photos will have to do. The MTU was my first comic purchase ever. My original copy was read to death as a kid so I picked up this book at a convention in Philly a few years ago.
  20. Greggy, you are a true board treasure. Thanks again. All this information would be great if only the info were added before my books arrive back in my hot little hands.
  21. Thats a no go on the 001,002 thing. I guess CGC has not added my numbers into their system yet, or it just plain does not work.
  22. Paid Collector's Society members do if you submit your books through the CS website. Since the discount is maxed at 10%, I submitted it through the CS website this time so I could check the grades. Ditto. I just did the exact same thing because CGC now only allows 10% no matter where you submit your books. I was able to track my books from the moment they arrived at CGC. I had a two week turnaround time with my modern submission this time around. Thanks to the online tracking by being a member of this group I now know that I have: X-Men 97 coming back at 9.6 X-Men 98 coming back at 9.2 X-men 99 coming back at 9.2 X-Men 101 coming back at 9.6 X-Men 123 coming back at 9.0 X-Men 125 coming back at 9.2 Marvel Team up 66 coming back at 9.4 And two Amazing Spiderman 252's coming back at 9.2 each. I do wish they would post the bar code numbers online so I could enter them in my set. But I will just have to be patient. All you have to do is add....001, 002 to the invoice numbers and that's the barcode number. Noob Sorry, I could not start out as an expert. But as a lowly newbie I will take your expert wisdom and put it to good use.

  24. At the height of my collecting back in the 80's I had over 10,000. That number now stands at around 500 with about 45 of them slabbed.
