  1. Kudos to Steve, rube11 for a great transaction and super fast shipping. (thumbs u
  2. Exactly the type of book I would be looking for. Nice pickup. (thumbs u
  3. Congrats on the pickup. That is one of my favorite covers. I actually got lucky on that book and scored a 9.0 at a decent price awhile back. It is one of my nicer Silver age books. Did not realize there was a slide show option.
  4. Very nice book. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  5. Wow, those frames look great. And the $80 case that was mentioned sounds very affordable as well. (thumbs u Can't wait to see that. I love displaying my books. I got them to enjoy, not lock up in a cave. The people in the future can just deal with it. I can't imagine the small amount of light in my room will do much damage at all, and besides I have enough books to rotate them out plenty of times. Enjoy your hobby people.
  6. If that were only the case.
  7. MMM...steak and lobster The steak and lobster were fantastic. I invited my whole family over so it was kind of a late night. And are you really sick Marvelfangirl or do you just like the little green guy by you name? If you are not feeling well in the middle of nowhere Texas, I hope you get to feeling better soon.
  8. Turned out to be dinner and a few TV shows. Oh well, here are my 3 submissions to CGC that just came in the mail today. I still have a long way to go on my 1-93 collection. I found it a little funny that the grades of the books went from oldest (Best), to newest (Worst).
  9. On a rare occurrence, Comic Link and CGC arrive at my door on the same day. Photo's coming after steaks and lobster on the grill.
  10. Sorry all of this happened to you on a grail book. I have bought and sold many books on the boards and so far every single person I have dealt with has been above and beyond nice.
  11. I can't believe one of our awesome board detectives has not figured out who the seller is yet. If it was a Danny Dupcak thread we would already have a Google image of the guys house so we would know where to throw the toilet paper.
  12. No. Wish I did, but these are all new books for me. Not upgrades.
  13. My three X-Men books just received their grades today. I was hoping for 8.5 and above for them and I got it. X-Men #24 is coming back a 9.2 X-Men #29 is coming back a 9.0 X-Men #64 is coming back a 8.5. I will post photos when They come back.
  14. It would be a shame if the thread gets pulled. It is better now then when it started. (thumbs u
  15. Thanks Casey and "Baltimore Zuckuss." I have a lot of holes in the silver age section of my collection. So picking up any cheap books is a no brainer right now. After I get a pretty good run of books going I'm sure I will become a bit more picky. Oh, and by the way Casey. I quoted you in the Comics from the 70's thread. Just wanted to let you know that my response was not an attack on you personally, just my opinion on why certain books should be slabbed. Leon.
  16. Still have not received grades for the three books I sent to CGC. But while I am waiting I went ahead and picked up these two from C-Link tonight.
  17. Nice book. (thumbs u And right in my price range. I love bargain pricing on the 8.5's to 9.2's.
  18. Another Silver age book, and my first single digit CGC X-Men. Just got this in the mail today from Primetime. The book is ok but the post office did a bang up job on the case. This book looks very very good for a 5.5. Must have been all the edge tanning that brought it down.
  19. Thanks for the great comments guys. It is nice to be getting books again. I just packed up my three free submissions tonight. Off to the post office tomorrow.
  20. With things finally picking back up at work, it looks like I can start buying some more books every once in awhile. Just picked up X-Men #45 from Ernie/Toro a couple of days ago. Also my certificate for three free submissions arrived. I will be sending in X-Men 24,29 and 64 this go round. Time to start filling in more of those holes in my collection.
  21. That post is great with the vs. icons. (thumbs u But it just happened to be up there at random. Not planned.
  22. Thanks everybody. It has been a lot of hard work getting it this far, but it is worth it. The Astros Bank I picked up as a kid at the Astrodome. It has been dropped and a piece glued back in place, but I still love it.
  23. Thanks. The one on the left came from my Grandfathers old shoe repair shop. I got to use it as a kid in his shop.
