  1. bumped for an amazing thread. a lot of the stuff that was talked about this book was predicted right on the money. Unbelievable that some people 5 years picked this as a key and were right. some people even had ryan reynolds as Deadpool in 2004. the only thing I disagree about this thread, is now that time has past, this book is a key copper book and not a key modern.

  2. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2009/10/21/mtv-buy-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-heroes-in-a-half-hundred-million/ Blog Post

WOW!! The TMNT have been sold, in its entirety, to Nickelodien. And Peter Laird has confirmed it as truth. So from this point on, Kevin Eastman nor Pete will have virtually NO say in regards to the TMNT. The comics are probably completely finished. The deal was for $60 million ($10 mil of which went to the cartoon distrubituor). I honestly would have thought the property was worth more.

I guess we'll see what comes of this.

wow! this is gigantic news! I wonder will this be good or bad? I also wonder if Dave Sim would ever sell Cerebus if someone offered him 60 million for it?

  3. I'm just very amazed and hm . With all the recent additionals Showcase 22 added to the CGC census yesterday, why aren't there any 5.5 and under for sale in the marketplace...at least those are the more affordable copy. ;)

I think people are waiting right before the movie to sell them so they can maximize profits.

  4. why no mention of the real 9.0 in the heritage auction?

Three pages back. It did not generate much interest yet. I wonder if we will see some census creep. Are there some books in mylar that will be shook free and give us a 9.4 or 9.6.

The census should be updated any day now. Showcase 22 is difficult to locate in high grade (9.2 and above) is because of the black, green, and grey cover. I really thought my copy had a chance to be a 9.0, but just not quite there. Imagine if no copy ever surface above a 9.0...then holders of 6.0+ club will be well rewarded. On another note, If you look at the 6.0+ list in the club, very few copies exist with ow/white pages. There is a SC22 2.5 (the only other white pager) with white pages out there and I'm willing to pay $2500 for it. :takeit:

Isn`t unbelievable that this book lay dormant all these years then WOW!

    That`s why I love collecting comics. :)

whats the average price range one should expect for these?

  6. Oo, I never saw those! Are they from before the series started? What issues of the mag?

11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20 have Moon Knight in The Hulk / Rampaging Hulk Magazines. They are from 1978-1980 so between his origins in wwbn and his first series.

And it's Sienkiewicz art? Whoa, you're changing my life here.

    Must...buy...Hulk...mags...

13, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 20 are Bill Sienkiewicz that have Moon Knight in them. 11 and 12 are done from someone else thus why I think one of the reasons they where never reprinted. My favourite part of the Hulk Mags is 15, 17 and 18 where Marc Spector kills his own brother which are reprinted in the Moon Knight Special Edition #2.

That was my first Moonknight story I read and it was unbelievable, the art was fantastic! if there is ever a Moonknight Omnibus, I hope they include those.

yeah those were awesome! I think they have been reprinted in a MoonKnight Essential?

  8. Well Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 is out today and I was quite happy to finally have some new books to buy. The story in my opinion started out well and you get to see him with some of his new gear. Also as a bonus they have a reprint of the original #1 from November of 1980 of the first series inside. I was able to get 3 of the 5 covers thus far which are the 50/50 covers and the Finch Variant. Need to still get the Yu Sketch variant from somewhere and I have ordered the Yu cover negative variant from DF which I hope to have within a couple weeks. Just got the plain one with that since I didnt care if I got the Alex Ross signature version.

    Anyways the books :)

Why do you have to curse and do personal attacks? Over comics?! Are you serious?! I do know the facts. My dad didn't tell me to post this, baby this was all me.

Seriously, you are no better than this guy. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated on these boards.

    Whats going on here? :o

    Psh! That's nothing! lol

Anyhow, I never got into Thundercats. :(

Another book that will be a wise investment.Movie upcoming. ;)

No, I'm too busy buying books that matter to me.

I do both, I made a good sum of money on GI JOE and Transformers this year but still got to read some nice Archie books with the profits. :)

    Archie 600 ruled!

  11. Do you think it's at all possible that he got your dad confused with another customer? Like maybe similar e-mail addresses or first names or something? This just doesn't seem like something that someone would 100% fabricate. Like maybe he thought he was talking to BaltimareLaurel's dad and not BaltimoreLauren's dad. See what I mean?

Good question, but dare I say my dad has a rather unique email address? I'm not sure of many American's with the name 'Roxette' in their email. But even if it was a case of mistaking identity, wouldn't the seller notice eventually?

Well if he seems to think that he has a deal struck with someone, then obviously he didn't just make it up unless he's been sitting around smoking dope for the last month non-stop.

Or at least I'd think he didn't just make it up. It's possible he saved your dad's e-mail address in a address book and mislabeled it. Like if you saved mine under Bob Jones you might just see Bob Jones in your address book instead of my e-mail address.

    I'd still call him.

Call him to do what? Get in a shouting match over books he never asked for and doesn't want? There are times when it's best to let things go. This is one of those times. Nothing good would result from a phone call.

That is some of the best advice you can give and more people should use it.

btw I love your avatar.

  12. The diagram isn't a circle nor a pair of lines converging in the distance, but looping folds sandwiched tight into infinite layers of instantaneous strata.

I love it. But this is why I think you are drunk all the time.

    I take multi-vitamins & drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day.

The same with me, don`t need alcohol. (thumbs u

  13. THE BARRY WINDSOR-SMITH Conan ARCHIVES VOLUME 1

Written by Roy Thomas, art by Barry Windsor-Smith.

In 1970, Barry Windsor-Smith burst onto the comic-book scene with his dynamic portrayal of Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian, altering the course of the blue-eyed Cimmerian forever, and cementing himself as one of the greatest artists to touch pencil to paper. Nearly forty years later, Dark Horse Comics, in the tradition of the Dark Horse Archives collections, reprints Barry Windsor-Smith's entire run on Marvel's Conan the Barbarian in two fine hardcover volumes!

The first volume of The Barry Windsor-Smith Conan Archives includes such classic tales as Rogues in the House and The Tower of the Elephant, written by Roy Thomas and fully illustrated by Barry Windsor-Smith -- now presented as they were intended, remastered using the original color palette!

This volume reprints the first half of Barry Windsor-Smith's run on Conan the Barbarian.

200 pages, $49.95, in stores on Jan. 20.

  14. Great books man! Love those Newsboys.

Nice to see a little action on the thread. I have a pretty solid copy of Our Fighting Forces #10 coming - a book I've been looking to find for some time. I'll post 'er when she comes in.

Wish I was at the SDCC again this year... one day.

    Shep

Ok, I am late to the party, whats a Newsboy?

  15. This is one sweet thread. I'm working my way through off and on today.

I've only just recently been reading Conan. I started with the Dark Horse series, and then through reprints of the old Marvel issues. I always figured I'd stick with the comic versions of the stories until I read a few REH shorts on the flight to SDCC. Holy smokes, these stories kick ! Despite having read the same stories in comic form, I was completely immersed in the tales. Howard really knew how to create a compelling pulp story.

I've always been a big Edgar Rice Burroughs fan, so I'm surprised it took me 36 years to find Howard. doh!

And now that I'm reading the stories, I've decided to buy some issues, too. I've even started a thread in the WTB area. I think I'm hooked. (thumbs u

You mean Howards a better writer than roy thomas? ;)
