If by the top, you mean artistically, that period would really begin with DKR and end with 300, so roughly 87-2000 (damn my horrible memory). if by the top, you mean in terms of clout, that would be roughly the same time period. When Miller did Wolverine LS, his star was still rising. Well I didn't mean he'd peaked but he was definately at the top of his game. He was doing covers for Marvel and I was all gaga for anything Miller so he had a strong following already. GCD is down for me so I can't check. Does anyone remember the time line of DD #158-191, Wolverine Mini #1-4 and X-men #108-141? R. late 1970`s to early 1982 or 1983.I was a kid reading that stuff,saying to myself this is better than cable tv. .

Poor Cyclops, just as popular as Wolverine during the first 2 years of Uncanny X-men now considered a whiner like Silver Surfer. my how times have changed! With that in mind,this is the book I noticed that made Wolverine a major playa!

And I'm not even drunk More importantly, why aren't Hellblazer back issues more highly valued than Sandman? 1) Started years before Sandman 2) Still running today! 3) Most of the series remains un-reprinted 4) Has had a movie starring Keanu (much as we wish it hadn't) i always wondered about that. i have never read Hellblazer but i did see the movie and thought it was pretty good. how does it compare to the comic? You might want to try out the Hellblazer videogame that was pretty interesting.

Different kind of collector not Superheroes collector. Goth. A lot of adults collectors buy AF 15,Spider-man and superheroes back issues to recapture thier youth memories,while Sandman was allways bought by a much older crowd. You never know though after the success of Dark Knight and probally Watchmen you can bet the beancounters at Warners are looking to turn Neil Gaiman`s Sandman into a major motion picture. so buy cheap now.

Steve Summers( the director of Gi joe) 3 Mummy movies made more money then the 3 X-men movies combined. It will outgross the first x-men movie.There are more GI JOE fans then X-men fans. Let me get this straight....... there are MORE Joe fans than X-Men fans?!?!?!?!?!? Look at the sales figures from the mid 80's until '94 when Joe got shelved..... Uncanny X-men ALWAYS beat G.I. Joe That must be why the original Marvel Joe series got shelved..... because there were more Joe fans than X-Men fans Listen, I love G.I. Joe as much as anyone but there is no way in Cobra-La there are more Joe fans I fear the G.I. It reminds me of logical fallacies and the ol' post hoc fallacy...the event of comic books eventually led to a rise in juvenile delinquency. Not that Baptists should be singled out--plenty of atheists, agnostics, and other religiously persuaded folks have been/are guilty of a lack of thinking. And back in the '50s and '60s they didn't even have the distraction of the world-wide Web or reality TV. But as we soon learned, it was really Rock 'n' roll that was responsible for juvenile delinquency, at least until television became the reason for it. But video games, yeah, that's it, violent video games are the real reason for all the juvenile delinquency. (I'm looking forward to the day comics can be to blame again.) or hip hop. everybody wants to lead the gangsta life. yeah blame it on hiphop. thier is always something to blame on the youth when its probally the adults wishing they could be young again and having fun like the younger generation has.

I think people are underestimating the popularity of GI JOE in the comics community.I compare the Hama run with the early Lee and Ditko Spideys, don`t be surprised if GI Joe comics go up in value over the next year.

My son brought me back into comic characters via videogames/movies.Having kids changes everything about your life, your comic collecting will be the least of your worries.

I think he was thier first big mainstream hero from Canada and they have or had a huge market there. Wolverine predates Alpha Flight as thier first major Canadian hero/heroes. anyone care to clarify this?

I thought Conan 175-205 was some of the best stuff, actually. yeah original stories, wasn`t Roy Thomas rehashing and adapting Robert Howard stories.

actually Spawns after issue 90 are hard to find. try to find a 100 or 150 in high grade.

This so far has been the best new comic of this decade or am I missing any other contenders? Picked up the first graphic novel and read it in one sitting.
