  1. Sub-grades will no longer be offered with CGC Cards. Any cards submitted with sub-grades will be reholdered without the sub-grades.
  2. Starting mid-July (around July 11), all card submissions — TCGs, sports cards and non-sports cards — will be graded under CGC Cards, with the new grading scale and new label. At that time when CGC Cards officially launches, a paid membership will no longer be required to submit. Until the mid-July start date, you would need to have a current CSG or CGC Trading Cards membership in order to submit your cards for reholder.
  3. Just make sure when you specify on your packing slip that you want the card to reholder in the black CSG Perfect 10 holder that you are very clear with the instructions. Make it as bold and precise as possible.
  4. I was told that all reholders are $5 right now (for cards valued under $10,000) and high value reholders are $15(for cards valued over $10,000). Grading Scale Pristine 10 Gem Mint 10 Mint+ 9.5 Mint 9 NM/Mint+ 8.5 NM/Mint 8 NM+ 7.5 NM 7 Ex/NM+ 6.5 Ex/NM 6 Excellent+ 5.5 Excellent 5 VG/Ex+ 4.5 VG/Ex 4 Very Good+ 3.5 Very Good 3 Good+ 2.5 Good 2 Fair 1.5 Poor 1
  5. Yes, that is correct. Current CSG Mint+ 9.5s will remain Mint+ 9.5s in the new CGC Cards label.
  6. Sorry for the delay. If you want to send in the green label CSG Perfect 10 to reholder it as a current black label CSG Perfect 10 you can. You would just need to write on your packing slip for the reholder that you are requesting the card be reholdered in the black CSG Perfect 10 label. Packing slips created on or before July 10 will be eligible for the old labels as long as the package is received by Friday, July 21. If you create the submission after July 11 or your submission is received after July 21, your card would be reholdered in the new CGC Cards Pristine 10 gold label so just make sure you meet the deadlines above.
  7. Registry scores will be changed and updated to reflect one consistent reward system for all cards. Currently, there was a big difference between CGC Trading Cards and the CSG Cards and how the respective cards were calculated. We will have more info as it pertains to registry scores as we get closer to the launch of CGC Cards in mid-July.
  8. In the new CGC Cards Gem Mint 10 grading scale there will be half grades all the way up from 1.5 to 9.5. If you have any CSG Mint+ 9.5 cards those will reholder as Mint+ 9.5 in the new CGC Cards label.
  9. Yes, you can now submit cards for reholder into the new CGC Cards label. The $5 reholder special is live on the Online Submission Form.
  10. The $5 reholder special is live on the Online Submission Form so you can start sending in your reholders now.
  11. A Mechanical Error submission/return would only be for label errors or defects or damage with the holder.
  12. I have created another ticket with our IT today to have this looked into and hopefully resolved as I know you have been waiting several months for our system to update your cards.
  13. Your cards have been added to the CSG Population Report. I checked them all, but I don't see a differentiation made for the Owen Power Clear Cut, so I put in another ticket with our IT to have that corrected. I apologize for the issues and delay with this.
  14. A CSG black label Gem Mint 10 can be sent back in to be reviewed for a CGC Cards Pristine 10, but that would be a standard grading fee not the reholder fee. A black label CSG Gem Mint 10 will reholder as a Gem Mint 10 in the new CGC Cards label.
  15. Yes, the Perfect 10 grade is being eliminated in the new CGC Cards grading scale. All previously graded Perfect 10 cards will still reflect as Perfect 10 in our online tools including the registry, pop report and cert verification. If a Perfect 10 is sent in for reholder, it will be a Pristine 10 in the new CGC Cards label so we do not recommend sending those in for reholder. A CSG black label Gem Mint 10 can be sent back in to be reviewed for a CGC Cards Pristine 10, but that would be a standard grading fee not the reholder fee.
  16. Old green label CSG Pristine 10s as well as current CGC Trading Cards Pristine 10 blue labels will cross to Pristine 10s in the new gold CGC Cards label.
  17. CGC Cards will instantly be one of the biggest players in the card market, providing expert and impartial certification for virtually all cards — including TCGs, sports cards and non-sports cards — under the renowned CGC brand. The Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®) is playing to win with a major announcement in the card market. In July, CCG will combine CGC Trading Cards® and Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) into CGC Cards™, solidifying its position as one of the world’s largest and most prominent card grading services. Grading virtually all TCGs, sports cards and non-sports cards, CGC Cards will also feature a number of collector-friendly upgrades, including non-member submissions, a Gem Mint 10 grade and a sleek new label that blends seamlessly with cards. CGC Cards leverages the strength of the renowned Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) brand, which was established in 2000 and has become the undisputed leader in pop culture collectibles grading, with more than 10 million collectibles certified. The CCG companies, which have graded more than 75 million collectibles since 1987, also include the world’s largest grading services for coins, paper money and stamps. CGC Cards will build upon this legacy of success. The merger of CGC Trading Cards and CSG is the culmination of exhaustive market research, including customer and non-customer surveys, dozens of focus groups and thoughtful analysis of the card grading business. The new brand combines the best aspects of both CGC Trading Cards and CSG, including world-class expertise, advanced technology, the industry’s best holder and the strongest guarantees, while addressing many of the most-requested enhancements from the collecting community. “The card market needs strong competition because competition makes us better, and that's good for collectors and dealers,” says Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG. “CGC Cards will win by providing best-in-class grading services with fast turnaround times, affordable prices and strong prices realized.” The best grading service for all your cards Among the many benefits that collectors will enjoy with CGC Cards are no paid membership requirement to submit, a simplified submission process, affordable prices, a market-friendly Gem Mint 10 grading scale and an upgraded label. 19. Thank you for reaching out to us. Currently only PSA, Beckett and SGC graded cards are eligible for our Crossover service and evaluated for CSG certification. All other graded cards from other grading companies would need to be cracked from their holders and submitted raw in a regular submission. 20. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have reported this issue and our IT team is looking into why your cards were not automatically added. I will let you know when I get an update.
  21. I was told the following: This is a known issue, and our new SAP system is not allowing us to sign the cards out as shipped. Our IT department is working to resolve this issue but is unable to provide a timeline for resolution. I apologize for the continued delay and inconvenience that this has caused. If I receive any updates, I will share them here.
  22. Larger slabs are planned, but there still has been no definitive timetable given for their release.
  23. The card from one of the most sought-after vintage baseball sets in the hobby is easily worth five figures. Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) recently had the honor of certifying a high-grade example of one of the most iconic vintage baseball cards to ever grace the hobby. The 1952 Topps #312 Jackie Robinson earned a grade of CSG 7.5, easily establishing a value in the five figures for what is one of the most sought-after cards on the market.
