  1. Thought I'd throw in a non-hero book. Very difficult issue to find in grade.
  2. Fantastic stuff, Jimbo. The quality of the artwork, in these issues, by those great artists can rival anything out there, as far as I am concerned.
  3. Great looking copy. Worth the wait!? (20 years). Man, you guys are picking PH books left and right. Can't seem to locate the ones I need. TOS 17, TOS 37, TTA 12, JIM 60, JIM 71, ST 96, ST 83 In at least 7.5 or better.
  4. Sweet pickup. Finding and owning any Baker book in the VF range is a treat.
  5. Here is my copy. It is a beauty, but has a small area of paper loss on the back cover preventing a real high grade.
  6. Bill, you are blowing us away. What sweet books!!!
  7. I saw that one, too. Figured it would not last long. Another stellar acquisition. (thumbs u
  8. IMO the toughest Marvel pre-hero from 1959-up, but your mileage may vary. It would be interesting to do a poll on that, or at least pose the question (though I'm sure it has been discussed before, but not in my memory). I'm biased to TOS and TTA slightly because I've been collecting them longest, but my top five toughest would probably be: TTA #4 (hands down, both in grade and simply finding one) AAF #8 (certainly in grade it is a bear) TTA #14 (took me forever to find one) TOS #6 TOS #10 ST #70 also needs a mention here, as my brother has been looking for a decent copy for like 20 years. Of course that list could easily change. What's your list? Tough to narrow to 5 toughest, but over the years I felt that these are some of the most difficult to locate in top grade: JIM 55 TOS 4 - seem to almost always have marvel chipping TOS 20 TTA 11 ST 74 adding 5 more for a top ten would be: JIM 60 ST 70, 76 TOS 10 TTA 22 Bronty, killer TTA 3. Great pickup!!
  9. The highest graded...the ONLY graded...Teen-Age Diary Secrets 9. Not often seen is right, more like never! And that is one heck of a nicely presenting 4.0. Graded back in '08 - was that your submit, Joanna? Those chuckleheads in Sarasota can't seem to keep these titles straight btw. It's Teen-Age Diary Secrets, of course, not Diary Secrets. And to add insult to injury, it is a Baker cover for which cgc didn't credit him on the label. The only Baker cover of the run for this 6 issue title. True, it's not an original cover - it's a blowup of an interior panel. Don't ask me from which story though. For that we'd need to have an open copy of the book. Anyone? Also, interestingly enough, this issue is an all Baker reprint, 68 big pages in a little digest format, and it's an exact reprint page for page of Teen-Age Diary Secrets #7. I know Tomorrow's Treasures had (has) a copy but I think there are seal tears in the interior so it wouldn't get a blue label. I did have this slabbed. It is the same interior of 7. I don't recall which St. John issue this panel originally appeared in. I once photographed it but neglected to mark it or remember which original issue this story was from. I also have 7 which I got from a fellow board member. Also, I think there was a thread once going where we were trying to figure out the digests. I think what happened with these is that the digests were not a hit so they had a bunch of stock left over from 7 and just stapled a new cover for 9. Recycle and reuse! Definitely hard to find. This is the only other copy I have ever seen other than the one I purchased below. I will have to check out the one Muchin has for sale. I have Richie"s copy. It has a little glue along the binding, but still a decent copy. Matter of fact, the only copy I could come across!
  10. I have never seen a copy of this issue anywhere!!
  11. Incredible. 2 nice looking copies.
  12. I think this one is just as difficult. Does anyone else have a copy?
  13. That Diary Secrets is truly a rare find. Only seen one other copy for sale. Here is my All-Picture All True Story #2 Tell you though, the cover could sure pass for Baker,IMO. especially the guys features. Some more classic APC covers
  14. Try finding a HG example of this issue. Heck, a fine copy is almost unattainable.
  15. Super book. A tough one at that grade! Congrats.
  16. Thanks guys. These two TTA's were just too nice to turn down. I looked through all the Moondog PH's that Harley and Dale Roberts had. For their condition and price they were obvious choices to purchase.
  17. Recent buys, 2 from the MoonDog PH collection. MD copy My other raw copy They are perfect bookends for this one. Ain't done yet. MD copy My other raw copy Again, perfect bookends for this one. Yeah, what a PH junkie! MUST have more.
  18. Nice ST's being posted!! This one is one of my pride and joys. Not from any pedigree collection. Picked it up as a raw copy from a HG Atlas collection offered by Phil Levine over 25 years ago. It has not been pressed, neither.
  19. I don't know about the PH being mainstream or not. But, I do know from my experience at the Chicago Con ( i.e. the Moondog PH collection), that there was a feeding frenzy by dealers and collectors for those books. Other nice PH issues in dealer's stocks (if they had any), flew out the window. There are definitely many more interested parties out there after nice condition PH books other than the boardies that post and read this thread.
