  1. One of Kirby's more creepier monster renditions. Herr Von Doom I presume.
  2. Jumping Jupiter, he is 92 years old and still doing conventions
  3. I was looking at the various St.John titles in Gerber. A lot of them have similar stamps on the covers. Some with "complimentary". Are they publisher file copies? Some very nice copies were photographed for the Photo-Journal Guides.
  4. Anybody know who or where all those Baker books came from? I have collected them for 15 years. I have almost every Baker St.John book, but maybe only 5 or 6 issues even approaching VF/VF-. It seemed a rare opportunity to pick up some nice books. May not happen again for many, many moons.
  5. I haven't posted here in awhile. Thought I would fess up to these pickups from Sparkle City. What an auction, I wanted all of them Just had to have this one. An unreal copy, love the color combos with the title heading. Got this one because my raw copy is in crappy cond.
  6. How about some more Atlas. This copy would have graded higher, but for a small chip on the BC. I know this one is post code, but it is such a sweet cover. This is the River City copy of Spellbound 1
  7. Here is mine. Structurally, very sound. Wish the page quality was better (Cr/OW).
  8. Whew, the hits just keep on rolling. Great stuff Sartre. (thumbs u
  9. Wow, some nice copies of ST 70. Zzutak knocked it out of the park. Where did that beauty come from? Here is mine from a HG prehero collection from early 90's (referred as the Oakleaf collection). Here is the # 71 from the same collection. The # 72 slabbed at a 9.0, highest graded issue.
  10. A couple ST issues that seem HTF in higher grades.
  11. Stunning! I did not know there are such high grade Big Apple PH's. Anyone else have any?
  12. Thanks, Mysterio. You summed it up perfectly. No beef here with Sparkle, let them double their money on these two books, god bless them. But, the inconsistency of CGC is baffling. This ST 68 was my undercopy. I think my other copy is about 1/2 grade better. A 9.0?, I wish.
  13. Sparkle City is selling two Strange Tales on Ebay that they bought off my selling thread. The #29 graded out 5.5 which is right on as I graded it. The #68, CGC assigned an 8.5. That's B------T! Look at that book, its a 6.5/7.0 at best. Yes it has white pages and is a very nice copy, but no way an 8.5. I have some 8.5 graded books which almost look flawless. I'm disgusted.
  14. Let your money buy you happiness, I always say.
  15. OUTSTANDING COMICS! Some fantastic Atlas books! Thanks for sharing! Thanks. I was fortunate in finding some nice Atlas books over the years. I just have never seen the high grade beauties of the esoteric horror stuff that Sartre is posting. Just amazing. Also, I bought this JIM # 1 from Steve Geppi at his old comic shop in Baltimore in the late '70s for $75.00. They were the good 'ole days.
