  1. In the most predictable news ever my 3k loser bid got beat today with a day left. I really think this particular book will go nuts. Guesses? I am going to say $6500, maybe more. Is that a little bit crazy? Sure. But its early, its top census, its a very kirby cover, heck its a very "JIM" cover... throw a small thor on there and it could be one of the hero covers, its a tough tough book, it looks the grade, the PQ is terrific... there's so much to like about it. Other guesses? Just an incredible copy. I wonder who is selling it? I agree with your 6.0 to 7.0K prediction.
  2. Awesome books KS. I saw those, too late, about 6 minutes after you grabbed them.
  3. The more I look at this cover, the more I like it. Great interiors with oversized panels. This is issue # 2 by Artful Pub. Issue #3 Terrific Bill Ward cover
  4. One of the great early ST covers. Love it.
  5. I agree. I turned away from so many books due to an already blown budget. Looking forward to the Baltimore show next month. Its aways a great comic book convention.
  6. Yep, got them from Dale. What copies did you get from him? Glad you did not take the TTA 22, very much needed as an upgrade and possible CGC. I bought a stunning TOS #32 from him, and if I could have afforded both I would have tried for a package deal but my budget was on life support by that time. I've never owned that TTA, but the TOS was one I had been looking to upgrade for a long time. He had a ton of really pretty books, and I could have dropped thousands in his booth if I had had it to spend. Sorry I didn't get a chance to find you to say hello, it would be fun to organize some sort of meet and greet for pre-hero fans at one of these larger shows sometime. There seemed to be a few very nice copies of TOS 32 at the show. Your copy, the MD collection copy(Harley) ,at least VF, and Superworld's copy again as nice or nicer than MD copy. Normally not an easy issue to find in HG. As far as your idea of PH collectors meeting up, count me in. Did meet DR.X and Bomber-Bob for the first times at the show.

  8. Outstanding copy.Beautiful colors and gloss. What more can you ask?!
  9. I know Tomorrow's Treasures had (has) a copy but I think there are seal tears in the interior so it wouldn't get a blue label. I did have this slabbed. It is the same interior of 7. I don't recall which St. John issue this panel originally appeared in. I once photographed it but neglected to mark it or remember which original issue this story was from. I also have 7 which I got from a fellow board member. Also, I think there was a thread once going where we were trying to figure out the digests. I think what happened with these is that the digests were not a hit so they had a bunch of stock left over from 7 and just stapled a new cover for 9. Recycle and reuse! I bought Richie"s copy. There aren't any others around! I am only missing WR # 14, at this point. Missed out on a recent sale of on Ebay. You have a beautiful set,Joanna. Eh, WR that is... Out of all St. John's you are only missing WR 14? This would be amazing. Only missing WR 14 from this title. But, I am close to getting all of them.
  10. I took my Fn+ copy of TTA 13 to the Chicago Con and got serious $ for it. It was the ONLY copy there! There may have been one in Moondog's collection, but of course no one ever got a chance to look at it or buy it. Here a few issues from that collection that I was able to hunt down from other dealers. And, of course, now at greatly increased prices. They all have very nice supple OW/W pages and bright colors and gloss. This one is not from the same collection, but a super copy courtesy of Superworld.
  11. The highest graded...the ONLY graded...Teen-Age Diary Secrets 9. Not often seen is right, more like never! And that is one heck of a nicely presenting 4.0. Graded back in '08 - was that your submit, Joanna? Those chuckleheads in Sarasota can't seem to keep these titles straight btw. It's Teen-Age Diary Secrets, of course, not Diary Secrets. And to add insult to injury, it is a Baker cover for which cgc didn't credit him on the label. The only Baker cover of the run for this 6 issue title. True, it's not an original cover - it's a blowup of an interior panel. Don't ask me from which story though. For that we'd need to have an open copy of the book. Anyone? Also, interestingly enough, this issue is an all Baker reprint, 68 big pages in a little digest format, and it's an exact reprint page for page of Teen-Age Diary Secrets #7. 12. A very cool and underrated issue. Nice.
  13. This issue is a beast to find in grade. I have two low grade copies and have never seen anything better than a VG.
  14. It was all bomber-bob! Kudos, BB for all the hard work
  15. WOW, humongous increases to the CGC Registry points. Especially ST and JIM. Congrats to all who lobbied for the increases!!!!!
  16. Bumble Kitty's copy looks very sweet. Mine has the stamp on the cover and minor dings at the bottom. OW/W pages, tight and crisp. Very rare book in almost any grade.
  17. Show off, but we love it. Figured you may have s few of these HTF ST locked away. Adam, you showed a PH group picture of some of your White Mountains awhile back. Still have it?? OMG, just a beautiful sight Are going to have them all slabbed before you bury them with you?
