  1. Recently ended Clink auction had 3 HG books of interest. TTA# 1 (CGC 8.0) $ 5750 TTA #30 (CGC 9.8) $ 4000 Str. Tales # 90 (CGC 9.4) $ 2066 The TTA 30 was discussed previously on this thread. What do you think? Sold too cheap, about right?? I predicted around 5K. The TTA30 just doesn't generate any enthusiasm, a mediocre cover. TTA # 1 , holy *&%$. This book has just exploded in past 12-16 months. The ST 90, I thought would go for more. Str. Tales in that grade are just impossible.
  2. Sartre, posting any of my books here now would be like making love to a woman who has already been with John Holmes, insignificant.
  3. Beautiful ST display, KirbyJack. So, when do they go up for sale??
  4. Super looking TTA 1 and a TOS 1 for a dime, suuweet. Gee, I didn't know the post office sold comics.
  5. There are actually 2 Tyson shows by 2 different promoters now. The one you are familiar with was bought out and has new ownership. Show is well attended but lacks any name dealers (except Gene Carpenter). The other show is by Shoff productions, bi-monthly. Its a combo comic/sports event.
  6. Jimbo, I remember geting this book at a convention (Phila. or Tysons show ??) jeez I am getting old, years ago from a guy walking around offering his books. Cannot remember his name. I also purchased the TOS 19 from him from the PS collection. However, I sold it off later on.
  7. Time for a bump. The colors on these 2 Fawcett books just jump out at you. Classic Harvey issue
  8. How about alittle love for Rorgg. Bombu, one of the most terrifying menaces from the Marvel/Atlas world......... ....NOT! This TTA is from the Portsmouth (VA.) collection discovered in 2001. It was mentioned in this thread many moons ago. Beautiful deep, dark crisp colors on this copy. Even has this cute little certificate with it.
  9. Purchased the TOS at least 10 years ago from Mr. Yee. Sold as a VF, but more like 7.0 maybe 7.5
  10. Hard to believe that this 8.5 JIM # 67 remains the highest graded copy. When I bought it, I had no idea of it's rarity in HG. Here is my TOS #1, deciding whether "to slab or not to slab, that is the question".
  11. $25-30 was indeed a lot of cash to fork out for a comic in 1977. Especially, when us ordinary folk were schleping along for 6 or 7 bucks an hour.
  12. Thanks. Picked it up at NY show a few years ago. Actually, I had an unbelievable copy 20+ years ago, which I bought from Ken Mitchell in NM. It was very close to that. But, sold it a few years later for double what I paid. It's out there somewhere.
  13. MM # 8 has been underrated IMO. What a cool cover. Love the colors and the headlights! MM # 7 nuff' said
  14. This old CBG ad from 1977 is going to make you ill. I don't know why I did not jump on these at the time.
  15. Wow, that MGA is unbelievable. After looking for a couple of decades for HG copies of this title, I wondered if there actually any out there. Kudos on the TT run. Sold off my copies years ago. May have to pick them up again, cool covers.
  16. I wonder what the story is behind this TTA 30 and if there were other issues from it's source? What an anomaly.
  17. This thread is rockin' Yeah, I miss the ole' CBM. Informative articles and features by true enthusiaists. Here is my copy of everyone's favorite. I would include this one in a second top ten. How can we forget this cover.
  18. Have time to post these before heading off to work.
  19. Awesome books. The #52 sort of grows on you the more you see it. Nicest 64 and 69 that I have seen.
  20. Oh, Wow, an 8.0 #64. Very sweet!! How much did you say you are selling that for to me??
  21. OK,here are a few more. What the heck, what else to do? Its snowy and freezing outside, so lets post some books. Just a great Everett cover on this one. Everett cover Maneely cover Maneely cover Kirby cover
