This was the first Moon Knight issue I ever read (because of the X-Men appearance). :cloud9:

I had the cover already and was happy to add this page as well, for far below my max bid. I also bought the TMNT HC Vol. 1 with the vintage (1988) Eastman & Laird head sketches. Sold for the minimum bid, half of the low estimate.

That makes it extra special, congrats! It's a beautiful example.

Is this film based on a comic book story? Even Shang Chi kept the nugget of "fighting my dad the evil mastermind" from his comics origin.

I didn't find Brie Larson a memorable presence in the first film. She's not charming, she's not resolute in an Ellen Ripley way, she's just sort of stiffly there, which was at odds with all the dialogue about how she needed to be less of a hothead. I did like Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan on TV, but she lacks the star presence to carry an action film. Looking down the cast list, I don't see a must-see name to draw hoi polloi.

Iman is very charming and has a good screen presence. Hopefully she'll get to do a bit more and not have to be bogged down by the MCU machine.

Somebody (joking I hope) in reference to this  failed waken film, suggested that Hollywood do a waken version of Dirty Harry. lol

i pissed my pants and snorted unsweetened ice tea all over my keyboard when I heard that. It's time for these freaks to understand we've had enough. No more messaging, no virtue signaling, we want entertainment dang it!!!!

What's Waken? is that like Wiccan?

  4. It was a neat event and I like the panels that coincide, especially just getting to listen to more stories from Howard Chaykin.

I had saved a bunch of stuff and seemed plenty of sellers were ready to wheel and deal (based on email offers) I ended up picking up one piece that I liked and made an offer on.

Seller for that was great to work with as well, which is also a plus.

  6. My first piece(s) of Comic related were these sketches from my first Con (Big Apple Con 2003) done by Toby Cypress

Unfortunately Spidey was lost during a move but feel like he may pop back up.

My first published page was from Abe Sapien done by Max Fiumara (NYCC 2016)

So 2 outta 3 firsts I still have.

The joke is Mike and Anthony have priced things so high on the show no one bites at first, giving everyone time to run some searches or wait for someone to pop in with price discovery. If they actually priced things better, someone would claim quicker and no one would be the wiser.

I think that may be part of the more recent behavior. Claims would fly in due to the FOMO but now collectively it's a marathon rather than a race.

So you take the chance and really upsell, you'll only need a few bites to offset a whole stack potentially.

Did everyone who viewed a page get a reduced price offer? The guys were talking about that feature where a seller can tag all their viewers with a message, and first to respond wins.

Anyone take advantage of that or were the lowered prices not sufficient?

I thought that was just for the Saved pieces, that the seller can send out a message with price reductions. I received a number pretty quickly after saving pieces and one via my initiated direct email response.

  9. I'd passively watched the shows and always found the most interesting stuff (for me) to come from other community members vs dedicated dealers.

Finally grabbed a page from this one as well a very reasonable sketch slot. It's a nice venue of sorts for art and away from the noise of auctions and dealers.

From what I experienced, people were pretty open to negotiate as well and send out offers themselves to those who saved pieces. Prices can be aspirational but you can just ask someone if you're really interested and see where it goes.
