This morning I read a fictional article today from Vox. Trying to Claim "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" was racist. The author claimed "(I would, though, suggest that this context makes that plot line in the sequel where the Cat smears black ink all over the house and then the kids yell at him to kill the stains kind of uncomfortable, in light of the racial history of the way Black people, dirt, and ink are associated in American pop culture.)" Sadly the author doesn't seem to have read the book at all. The "Black ink" was pink. (When confronted, The author later made a small change removing the word "black" from the article)

Final Crisis 7 is now a $700.00 book in 9.8 dang. Things move quick. Now I gotta go digging again.

If buying now, I wouldn't invest in either in 9.8 but I do think there might be a bit more to squeeze out in the lower grades for people that just want a copy. Overall I think there are better investments out there.

Star Wars 4 I think was the first comic I got. My parents bought it for me shortly after the movie. A bit later I would also collect comics like Firestorm, Swamp Thing, Teen Titans, X-Men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But it was Crisis on the Infinite Earths that sparked my obsession with comics and learning about the history. I was out of money and my grandfather bought it for me at Comix and Comix in Citrus Heights.

I think for the most part the discussion here has been better than expected. Sometimes it gets a bit too close to politics but I'm hoping people can set aside Blue vs Red and look at it under the guise of a more historical discussion and how current censorship is repackaged in todays age. Working for Disney myself I've had to make numerous catalog title changes to poster artwork for digital download. Some used and some not. Shortly after Sandy Hook we worked day and night redesigning all poster art to remove any weapon use. I especially remember trying to redesign the cover artwork for Eddie Murphy's movie Metro. I also remember a debate over how much cleavage Mulan should have and the techniques in covering it.
