  1. I'm actually waiting for grades right now it's very suspenseful
  2. My last few submissions took about 4 or 5 business days from package delivery to get into the system, Then about 20 days total from received to shipped. They have always charged my cc when the status went to scheduled for grading. I've had a few that I submitted under modern that graded high enough to put the value in the standard tier but they have never changed the tier.
  3. I've been pressing myself about 6 months now, I've found it's very good at getting rid of the finger bends and creasing and such. The spine tics give me more trouble but I'm getting better at it. I press everything before I send it in I've also noticed after a press I may see flaws I missed initially.
  4. I don't think you can ever a assume a 9.8 I've sent in books that I thought were perfect that came back 9.4 and others that I was hoping for 9.6 come back 9.8
  5. What I really don't get is the vast price difference between 9.8s and 9.6s as you could slap a 9.8 on a 9.6 or viceversa and 90% of collectors couldn't tell the difference.
  6. I was forced to go back and read all 16 pages to catch up.
  7. Yeah my comics sat in my non climate controlled attic for almost 20 years. Bear in mind I thought them basically having little to no value at the time. I was worried when I started going through them that I had done some long-term damage by keeping them up there but they seemed to have come out unscathed. I can't see any problems that weren't already there and out of the 50 or so that have been graded there has been alot in the 9.4 to 9.8 range.
  8. I collected comics as a kid in the 80s then again in the early to mid 90s. My girlfriend at the time who became my wife who became my ex wife was into coins and I started collecting those for a good 15 years. Sadly I was destitute around 2000 and sold the comics I had that were real valuable at the time so bye bye hulk 180 and 181 as well as some nice silver age spiderman and Byrne x-men. Then my collection sat in the attic for the next 20 years. Sometime in 2021 I heard a trailer for the venom carnage movie and thought hey I think I have those comics which led me to dig into my collection and start looking at values on ebay. Now I didn't realize I was looking at prices in the peak of a Bull market I just thought man I've gotten so old my 80s and 90s comics are actually valuable now! I saw things needed to be graded to get value and I was familiar with the process from my coin days. When I came to cgc I actually already had an account from ngc. Didn't notice the chat boards til a few months later but have prused them ever since. Have picked up some valuable knowledge along the way.
  9. Yeah 2 shipments ago the first attempt was Friday when I was at work, The tracking said they would redeliver Monday. I get home Saturday there is a note on the door so that's the second attempt, the tracking again says redeliver Monday. Then they show up Sunday morning luckily my wife was home.
  10. I was right there with you, saw this thread and tried basically the easiest tips and saw a big difference on the first try. Just simply putting white poster board on the coffee table turning on the overhead light zooming in slightly and taking a pic at an angle.
  11. Man glad I stumbled across this post. I was struggling to take pics of slabs without getting horrible glare. Just the simple act of using full light a white background and an elevated angle made a huge difference.
  12. I basically now just leave work super early on delivery days. It's very inconvenient but I don't want to go through the hassle of having a package go back to cgc. I'm with what most are saying it's a horrible policy for the customer.
  13. Also this apparently was always designated as newsstand because the newsstand editions lacked the fleer trading cards.
  14. Anyway so I sold both of these for around $600 each so I'm guessing that's the value. Was planning on keeping 1 but the price got my attention and there are other things I want to get.
  15. Haha but it's good to see just like the coin forums the Grammer police are on the job 👍
  16. You guys can be more snarky then the coin guys, and I thought that was impossible.
  17. I guess those are low dollar books so charging slightly more for shipping matters? Idk kind of confusing.
  18. I've always considered H181 as wolverines first full appearance and thus the more desirable book. But I will say with H180 for a 1 pane cameo atleast it's a proper introduction.
  19. Yeah I get it I'm not thinking I have some super rare thing here just couldn't find a sale of the same comic. I not sure but I think these were always designated as deluxe newsstand as I was able to chose that when submitting.
  20. I just checked the census there was only 1 deluxe edition newsstand listed in 9.8 so there probably isn't any sale data to see. Thanks for your help anyway.
  21. What the.... I guess umm id!ot is not allowed
  22. Lol I thought I was an insufficiently_thoughtful_person for a minute but thats a direct edition
