  1. I think the only difference is some people just won't buy it unless it has white pages. The ones that will would basically pay the same price.
  2. Imo its worth it to take a shot. The book looks good for the grade a regrade doing nothing might get a better grade. I recently got a hulk 180 cgc 5.5 with similar grader notes i cracked it and with a clean and press got a 7.5 so I think its possible to get up to 2 more points on this book.
  3. If not first definitely close to it. I still remember the storyline they merge into some sort mud creature.
  4. Not plausible to accidentally accept an offer its not a 1 click thing. But if say i was drunk and did i would just take my lumps and go through with the sale.
  5. Well this makes so much sense. I bought a book from him awhile back and it graded well so i started following his auctions but i it seemed regardless of the book it was always getting bidded up. Rampant shill bidding certainly makes sense.
  6. Ahh man i missed out i was gonna take it just for the back page. I used to play that lame game on my intellivision in 83
  7. Yeah again reluctant to chime in on something I'm not directly involved in but it's hard to not call bs when i see it. If customers books were sold and it seems they were it was not an "accident" thats just not plausible. More likely the returning of some property is just trying to stave off the imminent threat of legal proceedings. Any chance of honest mistake is long gone.
  8. Yeah i think i probably watched 8 or 9 different people and the techniques they used then kind of sorted through some of them with trial and error til i got a process i was comfortable with. You're right some of them seemed sketchy. Just felt like I could get the same results as ccs without the extra cost. My results with submissions have been positive, even this one with 3 books with canvassing was still a great submission. Now that I'm aware of this issue I'll adjust accordingly.
  9. Haha youtube of course where people learn how to do everything. Actually I'd always used card stock between the cover and teflon sheet but with some particularly bad creasing I'd upped the amount of steam and didn't use the card stock paper. It worked wonders on the creases but obviously increased the chances of this.
  10. You know one of the worst things about this situation(I say one of because there are many) is there are probably people out there that sent their books in and have no clue about this situation. They probably expected a long timeframe and thought they were dealing with a reputable business.
  11. No probably no need to worry its a long process. I shipped a package to Canada on December 28th that just got delivered yesterday.
  12. To be clear ex wife's are much more dangerous then 99% of the drugs out there. Granted my knowledge of recreational drugs is pre fentanyl.
  13. Well I've been reluctant to chime in on this train wreck, but my thoughts when i saw the post about "she stole my second set of keys" were this is an attempt to set up a reason books are missing.
  14. Man alot of new posts here, i could read them but i think I'll just wait for the Netflix mini series.
  15. From what I've observed from buying and selling the last couple of years the newsstand vs direct price variance is growing somewhat rapidly. If I had to guess I'd say this will probably continue but of course idk for sure.
  16. Ahh man I wish I stumbled on this thread earlier. I've been pressing my own books for over a year now and have been getting better and better results but my latest submission had 3 books with canvassing in the grader notes. After reading this it seems like everything I've added that has made the pressing more effective has also increased the chances of this defect. The 3 books still pulled 9.2s which makes them better then break even but I'm assuming they were probably atleast 9.6s without the canvassing which kinda sucks. I've ordered srp sheets to avoid this in the future.
