  1. Multiple CGC 9.8s with WP from 1955 - WOW! But that is a racey (racist) story nowadays.
  2. Looks solid to me. Especially including large front AND back scans so there are little to surprises. What has you worried?
  3. Those are great books. Don't ever think you have to apologize for them because you see all these 9.6/9.8s pouring out from other collectors. Everyone has to start somewhere. You did great picking these up!
  4. I'll fill out the rules of the thread once I get done with a business meeting. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3500345#Post3500345
  5. Excellent! Let's get a couple more responses of where it is best to hold this, and I'm there.
  6. I just read the Comics General thread about James/ComicGrinder. It really hit me hard hearing of not only the job situation, but to have a family unravel like that. Poor Grinder I'm willing to put this book up for auction if this would help out, signed by Tim Vigil. Is it okay to start a thread where you treat it like an auction versus straight sale?
  7. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y193/Dave0126/Boards/_anim_batmanTV.gif Love the signature line. Too funny on the old Batman show gif. By the way, driving home tonight from work, I heard a Lending Tree commercial where Adam West does the voice of an announcer talking about a superhero that fights off bad lenders. To this day, that voice stands out.
  8. Still look to have some scuff marks. You better send them to me so I can take a closer look.
  9. Jimmers! Hey both of you... Must be a trick here. Forumites being nice to each other.
  10. Good catch. Frank Darabont is a huge GOON fan. I've talked to him about it at SDCC (where he's bought original art from Powell). GOON also shows up in SUPERBAD. Check out the scenes in Michael Cera's room...there are a couple of posters in the background on the walls. The wiki site about The Goon mentions both these movie scenes. Someone posted it quite a while ago.
  11. Yea, I know.. I love most these guys, but it does get rather whiny here once in awhile.. Yes, we notice.
  12. Nice looking books, Gav. This series any good, as I never heard of it before?
  13. You mean like when you told me I must be doing pilates when I assumed his question appeared innocent? Going back to my exercise class today. We got a new pilates machine to really stretch the limbs. We call it "The Presser."
  14. That's what I thought was going on when I went back to read the thread the first time - an honest question that was misread. And now it is clear why he asked the second time. He assumed there was some joke going on that he was not part of. Glad this worked out, though the pressing discussion seems to always bring strong differences of opinion for many.
  15. Okay, I'm being too much of a soft heart on this one. I just went back and caught the second comment. Now it does come across like picking a fight over pressing. It would appear the beatdown may be deserved on the part of the person asking the question.
  16. Sean, I'm not against pressing, and I applaud Tupenny for posting ahead of time books were pressed. I think what happened in that thread, possibly, was an innocent question may have been misread. The way I took Pep's question, if I may frame it based on perception, was, "Hi. I think it is great you mention a book was pressed. What do you look for when trying to detect pressing?" Just the way he asked it, it may have come across like a challenge. At least, I hope that was what happened versus beating up on a thread when a seller is trying to be up front about book prep work. Then that would be totally wrong! But knowing how the pressing debate can get heated, I probably would have asked that question via a PM. I'm still leaning towards it was such an innocent question, Pep didn't realize how it came across.
  17. Thanks so much to FT88 for some fantastic raw Batman books, super-safe packing, and outstanding customer care. Much appreciated Ed in making our first transaction so positive.
