  1. Since this is a group thread meant to resolve sales on this board, in addition to identifying probation members, I really think we need to have hard-fast rules that everyone is very well aware of. Maybe a sticky at the top to lay out the rules. To me, there is NO ROOM for scamming on a board that is supposed to be close-knit and ensuring we avoid the situations that come up on eBay and other venues. If we do not take a harder stance on such behavior, and clearly communicate "SCAMMER BEWARE," this is not going to get reigned in quickly. What if one time on the probation list allows for you to come off ONCE authorized by the impacted party. Two times means this must be reviewed by at least a set number of board members to determine if: 1) A situation came up that allows for forgiveness one more time, but only one more time. 2) Permanent banning from buying or selling. We are never going to eliminate all scamming, but clearly documented rules and policies is going to ease the burden more. When Connor/CAP Freak did his recent scam, there were quite a few asking "What are the rules" because we just didn't know. I say since we are policing ourselves right now, and we DO NOT want to force the mods to take control or shut down the sales area, let's jump on this quickly and start down a solid path.
  2. I respect that you are trying to be fair, but a SCAM IS SCAM. Let's not kid ourselves this was just a difference of opinion on grading. Having the original owner come on and make it clear what they sold to him, and condition they made it very clear these books were in, and then he turns around and says something different to flip them is NOTHING like some of the recent situations. This was a scam gone bad, and is blowing up in the seller's face. Let's not try and handle this with kid gloves, but if he ever wants to do business on here the situation better be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
  3. Honestly? An outright lie versus a difference of grading opinion, and impacting so many buyers, I wouldn't allow this person to deal in the sales forum again. But that is just me. Scamming is unforgivable!
  4. I hate when this happens to buyers that really asked all the right questions ahead of time.
  5. Yeah. My stomach is starting to turn while I wait on mine, as well. Well, maybe you both have all the DC comics that were $5 books. Wow, I hope the Easter Bunny drops by soon so I can have him pass along my early Christmas list to Santa when they meet at the holiday character jamboree.
  6. No kidding. Isn't this the second time comicseekers would potentially go on the list if not resolved?
  7. Maybe all the hot DC issues went in your box.
  8. Totally agree that this issue is important, though Miller did not take over writing control until issue 168, which makes it double-key since this was also the 1st Elektra appearance. That is THE KEY book of the entire run because this is when Miller took the character down a darker path than seen before. Not sure why CGC doesn't note that on the label. 158-161: Roger Mckenzie (writer), Frank Miller (penciller) 162: Michael Fleisher (writer), Steve Ditko (penciller) 163-164: Roger Mckenzie (writer), Frank Miller (penciller) 165-166: Roger Mckenzie & Frank Miller (writers), Frank Miller (penciller) 167: David Michelinie (writer), Frank Miller (penciller) 168: Frank Miller (writer), Frank Miller & Klaus Janson (pencillers)
  9. I know, but you would think sellers would be aware how fast board members jump on these situations and totally avoid trying this. But then again, I'm thinking like a reasonable human being, which when figuring out these situations that goes out the window.
  10. This is getting pretty pitiful lately with all these little scams. And this one sounds like you cannot even call it an honest mistake of someone not going through the boxes and turning it around as a flip for quick cash.
  11. Sergio, I don't know you, but after reading this note I would stop taking a defensive posture, apologize, and start sending out refunds. Not going through the boxes in-detail was a big mistake when later on you were posting descriptions and stating no water damage or books with counts over 5 copies. Just leave it at that.
  12. Sounds about right after reading all the posts.
  13. Sounds like the logic someone tried to use with the CAP FREAK situation. I think money spent has nothing to do with being allowed to raise concerns.
  14. Hey Adonis you forgot to mention that yours is DOUBLE SKETCHED too. Grrrr! Come on TJ. It helps promote the characters when OTHERS can also have valuable Goon books. Smile! Come on now - BIG SMILE!
  15. I always thought so as well. Marvel's creative team was definitely having a lot of fun closing out that series.
  16. Ooops, had this in the "Just back from CGC" thread by mistake. Although an oddball character, these two issues are hard to come by and especially nice to have since #18 ties in with Uncanny X-Men 140 and #19 is the 1st Jack O'Lantern (Hobgoblin II). #19 only has two 9.6 copies in the census, which made this sweeter. The second copy belongs to someone on the board, so at least we kept it in the forum family.
  17. Is the case cracked or something else wrong with it, as if it is fine the way it is, I'd leave it alone. The more folks you have handling a book, the greater the chance something can happen. Everyone recognizes this book as his 1st full appearance. I wouldn't kill myself over needing the updated label to state this. Know what I mean?
  18. My favorite Goon character. Man, can Buzzard blow some holes in zombies or what?
  19. Does the cover look like this one, or is it the Dark Horse #1?
