Ok, I've got the perfect solution... Sell both FF 5s and upgrade to a FF5 in 5.0ish!!!

With the way prices have moved on both these books in recent years, replacing either book wouldn't be easy (Cost prohibitive anyway). So if you sell your 181, are you ok with never having another?

That's always the question I ask myself before parting with big books to buy other big books. I've been thinking about moving some bronze keys (including my 181) to buy a bigger GA book. But I'm still not past the fact that I'll likely never replace those BA books.

That seems like the perfect solution.

I don’t need to sell either right now, which is nice of course.  I’m just kind of mulling it over since there’s a few shows near me this summer and it would be nice to have a few extra shekels.

Full disclosure, I have a FF 5 3.5W as well.

Then of course I would have to keep the Hulk 181 if you have a second copy of F.F. 5

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.

I think you did tell me early on that you had a 2nd print, and at the time, I was confused as to what difference there was between a "2nd print" and a plain ol' counterfeit/bootleg, which seemed to kind of annoy you so I didn't pursue it (hey, I was the new kid on the block at the time).

But now we know--ironically--in part thanks to your 2nd print!

    I love it!

Oh but shh, I'm breaking my own rule about not discussing a magazine beyond its assigned week.

    Sorry everyone!

Here are the rest of the pics.

Found this image online--it's very small image that I've enlarged quite a bit--but that corner doesn't look completely blacked out like the scans posted before.  I still can't see exactly WHAT it looks like, but I can see that it does look different.

I'm glad you found this one. Its actually my exact copy.  Enjoy.🥰

Ok, but I keep hearing that "THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!!!" chant going through my head...

To me it looks like there are TWO corners full of big black spots (the red rectangles) in what I would consider to be the 5th panel on page 18 (the blue rectangle).

Which corner contains a bald-headed man in the 2nd print?

The electronic copy I have must have also been scanned from a 1st print.  Does anyone have a picture or scan of a 2nd print so we could compare the appearance of the bald-headed man to one of the black corners in panel 5 page 18?

...And what about the broken/unbroken lines on the house?

Dude, you are killing me. I'm sorry I wasnt so exact.

Page 18 , panel 5  blacked out upper left corner removing the bald headed man from the panel.

This is more along the lines I was hoping for--thank you @oakman29!

So the bald-headed man DOES appear in the 2nd print, but DOES NOT appear in the 1st print.

Now, I don't know if this pic is from a 1st print or a 2nd print, so can you take that pic and circle the bald-headed man--or where the bald-headed man would be, if this is a 1st print?

This pic is from a 1st print. The big black spot in the corner of the 5th panel on page 18 is where the bald man is on the 2nd print.

It was nothing but that. They didnt really care about content so they just threw it together. Now as far as the differences between the original and 2nd print, or "bootleg ". The story goes that the original plates were used to make the "2nd print" and that someone who actually worked at Warren found them and reprinted a certain amount(unknown) at the Warren headquarters. Jim Warren had his suspicions as to who this was , but could not be positive.

I'm pretty sure page 18 panel 5 has a blacked out area where they blacked out a mans bald head on the original copies, but on the 2nd print the bald man was indeed there, hence why they know the original printing plates had to have been used.

On the second print the 2nd print had blue lining on the staples, where as the original had plain staples.  There is a certain sheen to the printing on the paper as to the type of printing and ink used in the process. Xerox copies could not replicate,  so buyers of any copies beware. There are several tell tale signs , but these are the most telling.
