  1. I wouldn’t advise any additional restoration. I think it would be worth sending to cgc for grading as it is, they will identify what if any restoration has already been done to the book. After that you can come back here for an estimated value on the market. Things like tape is not considered restoration from cgc. Right now your images are not clear enough or large enough for me to gauge restoration.
  2. If it’s not missing to many pieces from chipping, I’ve seen split covers get a 1.0.
  3. C-1 is likely a significant amount of color touch that bleeds through. Do not attempt to unrestore or scrape off. If the book isn’t a keeper, sell it and buy another copy.
  4. Along the top edge, that’s a production flaw where it’s not black
  5. I’ve seen it as about half way across the page. Although this is not a guarantee unless a dimension is specified.
  6. For one to become a master at his craft, it would be similar to building a ten mile road through the wilderness. You would start the daunting task by staring at all the tree's that would need to be removed, the energy to pull up stumps would be tremendous. The soil would have to be graded and leveled, concrete poured and the shoulders formed. Its a lot of hard work building a road through the wilderness by yourself and working almost every day it would take about 2-3 years of sweat and blisters. Once the road is finished, you being the owner could get onto that ten mile road and drive it back and forth each day to work. Sure there is going to be some maintenance, you will need to keep an eye on filling pot holes here and there and some storms might come through a couple times a year. Since you built the road through your own sweat and labor of hard work every day. You have the ability to get on that road and drive 60-70 miles an hour and it becomes so simple to travel that ten miles from point A to point B. It almost looks easy.......... Now Jimmy comes up and says, hey mister can I get on your road and travel from point A to point B? It looks fast and easy. You say, sorry but the only way to drive on a road is to actually build your own road, it's not possible to drive on mine. But Jimmy says, hey I bought this book on how to drive on a road. Can I now drive you your road? You try your best to explain to poor Jimmy again and again that the only way to get across that ten mile stretch of Wilderness is to walk it out, or build your own road. walking would be so slow and there are dangerous wild animals in there, plus I don't want to build my own road as it would take years of hard work. I just want to get there today and be happy today
  7. Yes you can get 20 longs onto a pallet, you can actually get close to 40. You use the plastic wrap to keep them from moving or getting loose. It's called point to point shipping. They will charge more for a residential that does not have a dock to unload on. They do have trucks with a lift to lower if you don't have a dock. Lots of the over the road trucking companies offer this, I've gotten furniture and packing supplies delivered via truck to my house and it wasn't a big deal. Also I've sent home comics I've boughten out of state via pallet. Fed ex might have it also. Check your yellow pages for trucking companies. One pallet should not cost more than $200-300.00.
  8. You need to look at the rest of the pages to see if the original staples holes line up with the cover or the first set on the centerfold. It would also be very difficult to match page quality if one marries a centerfold. You should look for that also. It’s possible the original cover fell off during production and the book was run through the machine again and a second cover was stapled to the book in different staple locations.
  9. With no notes on the 9.6's you're not going to know for sure why they downgraded. You could hold the books under the light to see if you notice any flaws. Pebbling would be small dents imprinted into the cover.
  10. I haven't seen this CPR book, but it doesn't seem to be a very good resource for dry cleaning tips. Maybe get rid of that book, since removing color is destroying your comics.
  11. I’m pretty sure fed ex is the contractor to ship overnights that are handed back to the post office for the delivery. If they miss the deadline due to weather, they are already refunding those who complain, 1 day or 5 days late is the same cost problem. Mind as well get the other days on time and let the miss load sit until the next day off or Sunday.
  12. If they say it’s in Kentucky, I’ll go with weather related as this week was historic cold snow and wind. On Thursday our Walmarts had less than 10% of the produce section. I’ve never seen a store so empty. They said it’s weather related, even though our weather has been normal bad weather for three days.
  13. One would need to evaluate the entire condition of the book to know how much the overspray would affect the final grade, also the back cover may have it also.
  14. Hand written and date stamps typically do not get dinged by CGC regardless of grade.
  15. It's reasonable to confirm foxing. I would rule out tanning.
  16. You would create a mechanical error invoice. I think you have 14 days to do so.
  17. Signature series has not been eligible for pre screen for over a decade. I don't believe there is any new gray area.
  18. Not sure how this perceived marketing thread is allowed in comics general. A dealer offer above 2.5k would be a generous. Investing your own time as a dealer at Terrys comic swap is a recommended local alternative.
  19. Its related to poor air quality and storage, and I've seen it before with CGC calling it foxing.
  20. Looks like foxing from poor storage. Grade deduction not as much for below fine.
  21. Creases, folds and bends are all different defects and affect the grades differently.
