Might as well post my updated mini group shot over here too
Those are gorgeous books!!!

a wonderful book (I think I had a 4.5, but I don't even remember)...not all that scarce as the "old" perception, but still, any copy is a good copy (thumbs uHad the privilege of picking up this super scarce book in late Dec last year.2nd appearance of Green Lantern
I would be SOOOOOOOO tempted to crack that one out and read it
The archives GL edition 1 is keeping me happy for now. But I am too!
Usually very little buzz about this book.....Here is the Larson copy. jb
That Larson copy is simply amazing!!!

I have been waiting for years for the right copy, but broke down and settled for my CL win...now I have to just pay for it.
-
Should this be a Timely? I just got it in hand today. Thanks to Brent for working with me.
I know it doesn't have a kick azz Subby cover (cause if it did the book would be worth major 6 figures and I wouldn't be able to afford it) and I know it's not on a lot of want lists but I think it's really, really cool and I'm honored to be part of the club. Really honored.
Great book. Always wanted a copy. What is the page quality?

Kudos to airwalker for selling me one of his Wolverine Ltd. Series #2 CGC 9.4's. Gives me a CGC 9.4 set that I've been wanting to complete for some time now.
Shark
Shark paid very quickly, thanks again!

It was a monumental weekend for me. I took delivery of my Marvel Comics #1, my Marvel Mystery Comics #9 and also picked up the Lloyd Jacquet file copy of Marvel Mystery Comics #6 this weekend in Philly.
The Marvel #1 was a 25 year dream. Thanks to Bedrock for getting me addicted almost 3 years ago and taking my money ever since. He's a real gentleman.
I know you've seen these enough but allow me one more time. The weekend was a little surreal as I couldn't really enjoy each book individually. It was a lot of sensory overload. I'll try to get over it.
Also kudos to Rick for working with me on the #9.
Yes that's me holding the book of books with my bare hands and I'd have it no other way.
Awesome books!!! Never even touched a Marvel #1, love to own a copy one day.

Thanks for the compliments.
As for passing on the 8.0, took place locally, we were off by $500 and just before CGC started. He later got it graded and it came back as 8.0. I did manage to pick up a #84 7.0 from the same original owner collection.

Here is my SA grail. The best that I could do after I passed on a 8.0 years back and still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger.
-
My latest addition...
Nice copy.
-
and while I have to thank Steve for the #7, I have to, in a round about way, thanks Sharon for the #6...back when I just had 1-5, I wasn't really going any further...and I had been offered a 6 that I offered to Sharon...but, thankfully, she passed, and I went ahead and bought it...so viola, 1-7 is "done"WOW, Rick...that is a beautiful book!Beautiful set, how far are you planning on going?
-
since we are bumping this thread, a BIG thanks to former CGC poster sacentaur (you can still find steve over on the NOD boards (thumbs u ) for hooking me up with this bad boy!

Love both AA 16 and Sup #1, but I would take the Sup #1.
Same AA 16 re-sells for only $16,751 on CL.
-
The double cover #7 on heritage was amazing. Even the first cover 3.0 had nice eye appeal. Way too rich for me, but if I was fortunate enough to have won, that book would stay locked up in my collection.
-
sorry...I have a clause with sharon that any book that goes from me to her (directly or indirectly) I get first shot back at [/quotewas that the bedrock copy? The bedrock copy is so low grade it makes that look like a 9.6.
I've had 3, the first one had no cover AND someone actually shot it with a gun...probably a bb gun, I hope...
So, your's CAN't possible be worse than that;)
I do own the Gator copy now;)
Mine does have a cover. Water stained, ripped up and loose...but a cover.
Refresh my memory on this "Gator" pedigree.
Probably one of my favorite books, although my scanner does not do slabs well (and since I don't have that many, it usually doesn't matter;)
If you ever sell that one Sharon I want first dibs!! That's a beauty!
Rick, how long did it take you to find the #7? That is a beaut!!! I need a 4 & 6

Compliments of the Gator and USPS overnight shipping
Very nice book and pages.
-
Wow! What a great week you had
Thanks!

Thanks bomber-bob. #23, FC looks like a 9.0 or higher but with two loose centrefolds, the grade dropped. #168 is the highest. From the same seller, I had #164 & 169 and they both graded 9.8s, white, but sold them a few years ago. You have an amazing set, congrats to you.

Just got these graded. OK, two are not golds, but what the heck.
-
Irv Novick cover. He did some awesome covers as well. He and Hasen ruled.
LOOK AT THE COLORS ON THIS BEAUTY!!! How can you not love this cover? One of the best from the run IMHO. The A-bomb explosion is tops but this is definitely up there on the charts.
-
Well, besides not having the quality you guys have...I also don't have the floor space, ...so I had to move some furniture.
Rick, some of mine are not EVEN Good, but actually this forced me to do something I kept meaning to do, make a list of books I want to upgrade:) It will finally give me a focus;)
It was pretty funny when I had all the books down and found the 38 and 39 on the couch, so forgive the uneven lines;) I know some of the shots are duplicates, but I was getting lost climbing over chairs, I stopped at the end of the 10-cent books when I ran out of room;)
I"m exhausted, I'll get to the Sensations next year...those are actually better;)
I love your #7, that is a beaut! If you ever decide to upgrade your #4 or 6

Action 1 over Detective 27
Cap 1 over Showcase 4.
-
Rick, that is a great Subby #1. Another book, I love to get one day.
-
AA 16 is one of my grails (which I hope to own one day), so it is an easy choice for me over the MMC#2.
Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!
