  1. As ugly as the Ultimate Comics #75 comics you bought? I only bought one The almost-completely-blank back cover will be sketched by Adlard the next time I see him So........................ I couldn't resist.
  2. What did that set you back ?.. I stopped bothering when I saw they were going well over $300 ... ! I'm also thinking if the show is popular enough they will release this again in some form some how ... For $300 + I'd rather just get another #1 or something I wouldn't spend $300 on it either, but I didn't even know what a press kit was until this one. I do have to admit, that it is a really cool collectable to own. The one he bought was actually complete with even the shipping box that had WD on it with blood stains. Most of the kits on eBay weren't complete. So he did get a great one. (thumbs u I think he posted in another thread he spent $700+ originally i was willing to spend up to $700, or so i thought. the more the auction went on, i changed my mind. i did spend $405 on the auction i won, which seems to be about what these are going for. there's only a 1,000 of these, and most so far are missing something. mine doesn't have the dvd, but everything else. and it's cool in person. for me, i feel WD #1's are over priced (for me). i wouldn't pay over $200 for one, but i feel this is something that over time, people will lose pieces, etc. i'll get the pictures up soon. That's absolutely true considering so many are already selling incomplete. It is very cool and different item to own. Collect what you enjoy! Congrats! (thumbs u
  3. I just did an eBay search and the auction that ended for $705 was relisted. The seller claimed in the relisting other people were shill bidding it and I guess resulted in a non-paying bidder. He relisted it as a BIN for $499 and it sold.

  5. Is somebody holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy these issues? These reprints allow people who can't afford to shell out the big bucks early issues of WD go for a chance to read the series like it was meant to be read - complete with letter columns, etc. Similar to what Dave Sim did with the Cerebus Bi-Weekly series, DC has done with the Sandman Esssentials, and Image has done previously with the Image Firsts. And you don't want them to do this because it might impact your Walking Dead registry set It probably won't be added in the registry but I still don't like it. It does seem like they are trying to take advantage of the completest (and I am far from a completest). If they want to expose people to the comic who didn't get a chance before there are a ton of ways for a person to catch up. Compendiums, hardcover, deluxe hardcovers, tpb's, omnibuses... am I missing anything else? I have yet to see this format work. Essential Sandman and Cerebus Bi-Weekly didn't work so well. I see this weekly Walking Dead failing after they take a few more bucks out of people's wallets. It just reeks of greed to me. And, again, nobody is forcing you to buy these books. Nor is anybody forcing you to purchase multiple copies of the trades, hardcovers, omnibi, or slabbed copies of WD #1 - it's your own personal choice. These reprints are not targeted towards you (or anybody else posting in this thread) - they're for new readers who want a different entry point than the trades/hardcovers, and who are priced out of the individual back issue market. How is having a choice between multiple editions at multiple price points ever a bad thing? How can it be a negative that comic book store owners will once again have Walking Dead #1-10 on their shelves, instead of having to point potential buyers to the TPB's? (And, btw, both the Cerebus Bi-Weeklies and the Sandman Essentials sold just fine ) I think what I highlighted above is the problem. This doesn't make sense for anyone. It's NOT marketed for new readers since TPB are cheaper to buy. TPB are usually six issues, and sell between $10 and $13. (WD TPB #1 is $10, #2 and #3 are each $13. Thats new cover price. You can usually get trades for less than cover shopping around.) Six regular issues will be $18. Read the 1st 18 issues for $36 in TPB, or spend $54 on these new reprints?? This will only get new readers to sample a couple issues and then they will move to the TPB. It's cheaper + they don't have to wait six weeks to read one story arc. If they like WD, they'll switch to TPB. The first couple issues may sell well, but I'm predicting these will stink up the shelves in your LCS the 2nd 1/2 of the year. Especially, since you can buy the real copies of the later issues for $3 to $4 each. The addition of the letters column is nice, but I don't see "casual" fans who aren't really into the book spending extra cash to read them.
  6. Not all of us +1 +2 Why buy them??? We've already got the originals, and I'd bet most of us have reading copies already too. (TPB, Hardcovers, or doubles)
  7. Here is what they need to do to make it worth while and a success. Follow the model of CLASSIC X-MEN from back in the day. That book was reprints of old Uncanny X-Men comics starting with GS X-Men #1. The book was great a solid success going for about 100 issues I think. BUT they added NEW back up stories at the end of each comic. These stories enhanced the original stories. That was where Magneto's origin of surviving a Nazi concentration camp was told, as well as him daughter's murder when she burned alive. They need to do something different so there is a reason to buy these. Or else new readers will switch to TPB at the 1st cool cliffhanger they see, and this book is going to get cancelled or stink up the shelves in the comic book stores from over ordering.
  8. I think it's a TERRIBLE idea that the cover price is $2.99 for each reprint. Should be $1 like the Image firsts books if they are simply trying to get new readers. There's absolutely NO reason for people who want to read the story to buy it this way instead of TPB. Why wait longer for new issues over a year when the TPB's are on the shelf and cheaper in the long run to read. This is aimed at bleeding completist dry.
  9. I saw this a awhile back and thought it was great!!! (thumbs u
  10. I was hooked on Jericho too. Shame people didn't watch it and they had to cancel it.
  11. I remember reading or hearing Kirkman say at one point that Morgan was suppose to be the "Tyreese" character but things changed as he was writing it. I hope he changes it back and uses Morgan in the TV show instead. I liked the Tyreese character, nothing against him at all. I just think the actor they got for Morgan is a really good actor.
  12. I set my DVR to record the Spike TV Scream awards because I saw they were going to have a Walking Dead clip. Kirkman won for best comic book and the actress who plays Lori and the actor who plays Shane were there too. They showed a clip of Rick shooting a zombie in the head which was totally awesome with lots of detail. They then switched to the audience reaction which was hilarious. Anna Paquin from True Blood had a disgusted look on her face like WTF.
  13. There must be different versions out there. The one I downloaded was pretty good quality. I was able to watch it at Fullscreen size on my computer. I agree that if the version you get is crappy, just wait 10 more days.
  14. They had him doing Haunt Yup, ended awhile ago.. gotcha. I stopped reading after #1. (thumbs u
  15. I hate that the episode leaked online, I hate that I learned it leaked online, I hate that I couldn't NOT download it immediately after learning this, I hate that I didn't have the discipline to NOT watch it, I hate that I'm now waiting for episode 2 and have to wait longer for new WD. I did however, LOVE the show.
  16. Great sketch Lloyd! I know you love Iron Man. (thumbs u I think it shows how talented Adlard is too. We know he can draw zombies, but that's a really cool Iron Man too!!!
  17. Very cool pic. Obviously, a scene from "comic book issue #4." I honestly don't remember being this excited about a TV show. I'm not even worried about the show living up to the hype anymore. From the stuff I've seen I know it's going to be awesome. I can't freakin wait!
  18. My PM request has been answered. I'm good. This is the WD book at NYCC. Liberty Comics Annual #3, NYCC exclusive Walking Dead cover by Charlie Adlard. Gotta go to the show, or wait until they pop up on eBay.
  19. Is anybody going to NYCC? If so, send me a PM. Got a WD tip and favor to ask. Thanks.
  20. Well, thanks to Brian and Julio I've now read the series and have a 1st print of #1. The book is very original and I enjoyed it. While I was reading it, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone needs to get this book into Tim Burton's hands. It definitely felt to me like it could be a Tim Burton type movie.
  21. 1st it was the picks in the speculation thread, then it was who did Rick shoot. I'm not trying to attack you personally. Honest. Not to ruin another theory but...
