  1. I'm glad Kirkman is going to shake things up again. I was getting tired of them being "safe" inside. The last time Kirkman used the "NO ONE IS SAFE" tag line was for the prison finale in the 40's. I kinda felt the book would pick up steam once the show was on the air. Looks like the is about to hit the fan!!
  2. Cool cover. (thumbs u Is there anything newsworthy about the series in that issue?
  3. That's not what I'm saying at all. What I am saying is that most sellers on ebay can't grade to save their life - so buying a "near mint" book on ebay can mean anything from VF (often) to NM/M (very rarely). Listen to mschmidt here. This is good advice he's giving you. (thumbs u In general, if a modern book is not going to get a 9.6 or 9.8 you are better off selling it raw. You don't have to lie about the condition at all. Just put a photo up, tell buyers to ask questions, and give a grade of NM- or VF+ (whatever you feel is appropriate). Buyers will often take a chance on a raw comic, thinking it's better than the grade assigned. It's just gambling. Because like he said many sellers can't grade (some overgrade and some are too strict). Not early WD's, but most graded 9.0/9.2 moderns are not worth the grading fees. Simply getting a book graded does not increase it's value.
  4. I guess that HERD from a few issues back was following them.
  5. source I think that's pretty standard for AMC. I know they did that with Breaking Bad as well. I think it's cool they do 6 episodes the first season instead of just 1 pilot episode to evaluate a new series. (thumbs u
  6. Yeah, I gotta slow down now for awhile and rebuild the funds.
  7. Just joined the club. Here's mine.
  8. That book has 10 friggin' signatures, and is a 9.8 to boot. Even if sold for as much as a #1 in 9.8, it wouldn't be a surprise - but it's not anywhere near that number. The fact that it's only at $255 right now is kind of depressing, really. 10 sigs that make the book look like it was vandalized by a bunch of people that had nothing to do with the comic I'm shocked that thing is bid up that high. Might as well have Stan Lee's sig on it. Depressing? No. It's That's a ridiculous comparison. So Kirkman & Adlard have nothing to do with this comic now? You're ridiculous. I didn't say they had nothing to do with it. I said that there are a bunch of sigs by people that had nothing to do with the comic. Those sigs have no relevance to me and seriously detracts from its eye appeal. I have a hard time understanding why someone would pay that much for that but that's just me. This comic isn't that rare to find without signatures. So while I agree the signatures detract from the look of the cover, you can always buy another copy to enjoy the artwork. What IS cool about this book is that it can be extremely difficult to track down that many signatures. To have them all so quickly is really cool. Some of the STAR WARS books like this have crazy labels on them with so many different dates for each actors signature. Not to mention all the grading fees for each individual signature when you tracking them down one at a time.
  9. WOW!!! Very cool. Glad I decided to click on this thread today. Very cool sketch!! (thumbs u I was at Baltimore yesterday too and made sure to stop by CPG booth as well as the DeafMuteComics based on the conversations here on the boards. I haven't read CPG yet, so I was one of the people to buy the SDCC version previously mentioned. I just wanted to read it. Didn't know it was limited.
  10. Got a BLACK label 9.8 your willing to trade for a BLACK label 9.6 SS signed by Tony Moore C'mon, I know you've probably got like 20 of em on your couch...
  11. With all of our discussions I believe that is the 1st time you admitted this That's just because of the black vs white label discussions. I've actually agreed with you on lots of things.
  12. If you really want the double sig go for it. If you're a big fan of the Signature Series that's cool and worth the risk. (thumbs u BUT if you HAVE to have a 9.8 I wouldn't. This is why: Your book has a Kirkman signature in the same spot as the one that sold for $1200. A 9.6 with 2 sigs isn't going to come close to that price. I don't think it would even get 1/2. That would be an expensive upgrade if you lost the 9.8. If the grade comes back a 9.6 and I doubt that since this book has been graded twice and received 9.8 each time then you sell it and buy a 9.8 Universal for the next SS opportunity (latest is Jan). A 9.6 SS will get you a 9.8 Universal and some $$. I wouldn't have believed it. Wow. I haven't been watching these on eBay recently. I finished my run awhile ago, so I haven't needed to. But you're right!! A quick search of the completed listings shows a CGC 9.6 SS sold for $600. I think I'd be willing to trade my CGC 9.6 SS for a CGC 9.8.

  14. Ottley would be great for an Invincible sketch. (thumbs u I've never gotten a sketch cover done before at a con. How do you make that happen? I've seen some awesome stuff in this thread you guys have gotten at cons. Do you wait until you get there, or are you contacting artists ahead of time? Camping out at their tables? What's the trick?
  15. So holy in a hat the sketch covers are selling for crazy money on eBay!!! I guess selling them 1 or 2 at a time is paying off for the Ultimate Comics store. Are these going to drop in price?? They have to right? I'm going to the Baltimore Con this weekend and was thinking about getting someone (Idk who) to draw on it, but if it's a $100 comic I don't want anyone other than Adlard or Moore to touch it. Thoughts?? I know our own Spawn Batman fan is selling his on eBay...
  16. Old news (look up a few posts) started a "official" thread "an" SpawnBatman you better calm down
  17. I don't visit this thread often, but I know a bunch of you guys are zombie fans too. I'm still reading the comic book ROTTEN from Moonstone that was discussed awhile back. The reason for this post in this thread is because issue #7 just came out yesterday and JOHN LAYMAN is quoted on the front cover. "Smart, sick and awesome." - John Layman (Chew) Just thought some of you might find it interesting. (thumbs u
  18. Is the comic in good shape? Yeah, it's definitely in good shape. 9.6/9.8 quality. That's a shame Tony doesn't sketch on books. Adlard at Baltimore would have been perfect. I really like both artists. I've got some cool ideas for sketches too.
  19. Got my sketch cover #75 in the mail today from Ultimate Comics. I'm glad I bought the comic cause the BACK side is perfect for getting a sketch. Now I just need to find Tony Moore...
