  1. You heard it here first!! It's an analogy silly...
  2. It sounds like NHS #37 is the first appearance of Shannon, who later becomes Warrior Nun Areala in Warrior Nun Areala #1...alla Carol Danvers/Ms.Marvel, Jack Boniface/Shadowman, Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Eddie Brock/Venom, etc. NHS #37 is the first appearance of Carol Danvers, but WNA #1 is the first appearance of Warrior Nun Areala.
  3. That’s interesting. I think the green box in the pic below confirms that. Looks like both Uncanny X-Men #266 and #267 were supposed to come out before this book.
  4. This probably has something to do with it: http://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/warrior-nun/276605/warrior-nun-adaptation-coming-to-netflix I was wondering why all of a sudden my Warrior Nun lot got scooped up on E-bay...
  5. I was going through some of my books yesterday and came across this one. I still can't believe this one isn't labeled "1st full appearance of Gambit". CGC label states "Gambit, cameo (predates Uncanny X-Men #266)". It looks like the pics in this thread are busted. I took a few of the innards of my X-Men Annual #14 to count up the Gambit appearances...I count 13 panel appearances, he's named as "Gambit" by Storm in his first appearance panel and appears all throughout the story. The inconsistency in our hobby if both fun and frustrating at the same time...
  6. I like the "AGES" of this hobby. We just need a concensus on the AGE after COPPER but before MODERN/DIGITAL....I like CHROMIUM (1992/93 - 2007ish) best but there have been other suggestions.
  7. Completely agree...the "because she's a female" seemed to help out a certain recent presidential candidate as well... I like the "because it was a dang good movie" line of thinking myself.
  8. Would have been so awesome to have Agent Coulson as an under-cover Skrull who was killed in the Avengers...then a flash forward to continue that death scene in the Avengers showing Coulson morphing back in to a Skrull after he dies...leading in to Avengers 4: Secret Invasion.
  9. NOPE That's like watching a scrambled 80's Cinemax movie and claiming you saw the whole thing...or so I've heard.
  10. What's the 1st appearance of "Sweet Christmas!"...?
  11. No. I think it was more of a prototype alla Dime Press #4
  12. Which book came out "first" though?
  13. That's just it...I don't believe it's mis-labeled at all...thus the inconsistency in the hobby. When I think of the 1st full appearance of Red Sonja, the book that I'd want in my collection, I don't think of #23...it's #24. I don't think of ASM #299 when I'm searching for the "1st appearance" of Venom. When I want the 1st full appearance of Wolverine I don't think of Hulk #180 and certainly don't think of Foom #2. Cable...New Mutants #86? Nope. There are countless other examples. For my personal collection, when given the choice between a 1 or 2 panel appearance or a "full appearance", I want the 1st FULL appearance of the character, preferably with a cover appearance and a story dedicated to the new character. I think the market has agreed historically and that the CGC labels typically reflect that distinction.

  15. I posted this over in the Modern forum... I still like #419 better here for "1st full". This is like Conan #23 and #24 to me...Red Sonja's "1st appearance". She shows up in a few panels and even names herself in #23. That's listed as "1st appearance" but #24 is the "1st full appearance", story centers around her, she's on the cover...and it certainly is the more desirable copy to the market. It'll be interesting to watch these two books once the trailer hits and the non-CGC geeks find out about this one. At the end of the day this is a dollar bin book but I'm sure it'll take off for a short period of time. I love the 1st appearance debates...there is ZERO consistency in our hobby which makes it interesting.
