  1. Wow! I paid $900 in March of 2011 for the Flash/Elongated Man page from that issue by Infantino and Giacoia. Bought it from Mike Burkey who was kind enough to let me stretch the payments. Glad I got it when I did!
  2. I love a good write-up and try to make all of my posts an interesting read. Did you know that there's a 5000 character limit to the Description field? Yep, there is. I've run into it on several pieces. Pro Tip: I like to include links to related information and one way to shrink your Description's character count is to use "outside-affiliatelinksnotallowed DOT com" to shorten your links. Here are two of my long ones: Drs. Who Cutter and Skywise
  3. That is rather spectactular. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Re: PayPal Friends and Family If they are sending you money using that, they are giving up their ability to reclaim it. So, it's in the seller's favor. Pretty big act of trust on the buyer's part, I think. Re: CAF I would say that's an encouraging sign. Another would be participation in other comic forums, e.g., this page or some of the OA groups on Facebook.
  5. Nico, I'd be happy to do it, but I don't recognize the art or artists (typical of a US comic reader, I guess) so I feel that I would distort the survey. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll give it a shot.
  6. Actually, Woozie Winks with Plas as an inanimate object would rock.
  7. One of the first things that I did. Yep, I miss out on lots of interesting art, but it's dead to me anyway so ...
  8. You might want to consider Collectibles Insurance. Among other things, they cover art in transit and that's not easy coverage to find.
  9. To additions to my daughter's collection: JL8 207 which features an homage to a famous scene from DKR by Frank Miller The (Not So) Wicked Witch of the West by Marcus Cardenas-Rocco The former is a house warming gift to her. The latter a piece she bought at Comicpalooza that we recently uncovered. Click to embiggen:
  10. I'm not familiar with the artist, but that is a flat out remarkable (and remarkably large) work of art. Congratulations. Has the story every been collected in English? My French is rusty, very rusty.
  11. Nope. I'm pretty sure it was trashed by the cleaning crew. Full story here if you would like to read it.
  12. Yeah, not the brightest move, but it doesn't compare to leaving a piece at the airport gate and realizing it 2hrs into the flight. That was really dumb and I did it.
  13. I'd say this one: Why? Well, it was the cover to the very first comic that I ever bought my daughters. $180, IIRC, on a ComicLink auction. Never thought I'd find it, much less buy it for cheap. Click the image and read the full story, it's worth the visit.
  14. I seldom buy old comics though I picked up an All-American #6. However, I do have a pull list. It’s a bit long so I put it spoiler tags.
  15. Aaron's pricing is pretty much to market. It may not be in your wheelhouse, but he has a good feel for what his work will bring. Of course, you can always make him an offer.
  16. Yes, it's a color guide. The seller calls it that in the title. As for whether or not it is "original art," I'd say, "Yes, someone hand painted it." As for wheter or not it is worth buying, I'd say, "If you enjoy it, yes. If you expect it to appreciate like the pages that were drawn and inked by hand, I'd say no."
  17. You can find Ernie Colon's original designs for Amethyst on the CAF in Ravenface, S. gallery. If you haven't already done so, search the CAF for Amethyst and you'll find a lot of art from the various series. I suspect that the same is true for Mordred the Magican.
  18. Posting the artwork would help with identification of the signature.
  19. Yes, markers can fade and change colors. Black will turn bluish and fade. When questions about value come up, I take the "teach a man to fish" approach. Since I post this write-up often and since it is long, I've put it in spoiler tags. If desired, you can PM your email address to me and I'll send it right along.
