  1. I will be starting a thread in awhile, bronze age and up, mostly marvel. It will be book/grade/price. And scans will be available when requested. It is a fairly large amount of books, and dont want to have people scrolling through 3-4 pages of books. There will be some western and horror alongside the usual super hero stuff. Starts in about an hour.
  2. That would be one part. What about people whos books have not been shipped, and get no response ?
  3. Go with what skypinkblue said. Fraud, which is clearly what this is.
  4. I agree completely. Arex I should have added that IMO, no one should do business with anyone that doesn't offer a money back guarantee, I don't care who they are. The only reason I would hesitate to give back a money back guarantee is if someone has buyer's remorse, and we are all big people here. You have to own up to your decisons. I have committed to some big books and wished I hadn't afterward. I still own up to it as agreed cause it was my bad. If the book is without question as described and graded (ie it comes back from CGC as or better than graded), has no hidden defects or a PQ problem then the buyer shouldn't have the right to return the book. Having said that, it is very difficult to differentiate between a difference in grading and a wonky buyer so it would be on a case by case basis as someone that is not rumored to be a Twinky on these boards will get more favor than someone who is. R. Some really solid points also. If the buyer decides they just dont want the book, not that there were defects, then what ? Then give them their money back and sell the book to someone else. Thats kinda what I figured. I also think what SKYPINKBLUE had to say was good points. I dont know why I typed the whole thing in caps..

  6. I never posted money back guarantee. But I never thought I had to, if a buyer was unhappy I would want to make good on it. But now I think I should have the Money Back in text so people do know. Little things like that tend to be afterthought..
  7. Kudos to JAZZMAN for picking up a SA Avengers in my last sale thread !
  8. I always assumed the announcement thread was for: "I just got a big batch of BA books back from CGC today! I'll have to scan them and price and should have that done by the weekend so look for a nice slab sales thread from me on Saturday or Sunday." Thats how I saw it. If you have time to scan it, spend the extra 3 minutes and grade and price.
  9. Because maybe you would like to add more books ? And why would anyone post scans of books they havent gone through ? If you take them out of the bag to scan them, why not grade them ? No point in doing work twice.
  10. And thats how it should be. But I have seen a few where some of the books are gone and never get posted. No sport in that...
  11. Thanks for taking the point I was trying to get across out of context and run with it. My POINT was that if you just have your cute little thumbnail in the announcement forum and someone says "hey how much do you want for book x", because it was listed WITHOUT a price. Then realize you have another member asking "how much for book x" you begin a bidding war. And correct me if I am wrong, but you do have to have "prices you are willing to accept" in the sales forum. And since it is "only" an announcement thread, creates a loophole. So THAT would be my point. The whole purpose of this is to not have another Ebay or C-Link. But basically fixed price sales for board members. Did I miss that ? Or did I come across clearly. I am not going against anybody in particular, and being general discussion. I was giving my 2 cents on the discussion. And I do really enjoy this part of the forum and would rather not see it abused. Also I agree with foolkiller on the whole preferred customer etc.. And if someone asks if you have a certain book, sell it. But if somebody has seen somebody's announcement thread, and waits for the thread. Only to find the book they were waiting for was sold previously via PM, I would imagine they may be dissapointed.
  12. If anyone posts books in the for sale forum, all books are (supposed) to have scans, description, grade, and prices. Anyone who does not do this is generally told within a few minutes. You are not allowed to post books with offers accepted, has to have a selling price. But you can post books in the announcement thread saying they will be available, with just the photo, no price, or grade. Doing this, allows people to make offers on books through PM. Which defeats the purpose of the sales forum rules. Seems like a loop hole to me.
  13. Didnt realize krypto is the showcase 4 tape pull. Everytime I read that.... So sad.
  14. I read this whole thread.... Why?. Junk. But after the whole rant, the Irony of the PLOD ending. Goes to show do not anger the CGC..
  15. Im going to start a new sales thread later tonight. Will consist of Adams Tec's, B&B, and some Phantom Strangers. Also I have the FF 3 for sale too.
  16. Ok. I can relate to Deamentia in the short pockets area. And I dont think it is fair to start screaming class war, you do not KNOW for fact who has money and who doesnt. The guy who you think has deep pockets, may just live at home and spend everything on comics, or he could be some white collar guy making a half mil a year. Point here is this . IF you are hard up for cash and are selling books to make ends meet, AND time is of the essence. Then STATE that in your sales thread. If you do not want the books hanging around, let people know by saying " Books must be paid for within 7 days". But never PRESUME that everyone knows that you are strapped and have to pay whatever bill immediately. If you are not clear on payment. Don't expect people to rush to pay, most people do have other things on there minds and will get to it. As far as the ignore factor goes, IDK maybe he changed his mind, or felt harrassed. But as far as I know 30 days is the time allowed before you get put on "the list". And after a few days, it shouldnt be brought here.
  17. I will give ya 50/50 . The buying techniques good. Selling my books... BAD.
  18. I dont wanna think about if you bought more books. That bag you had could have been mistaken in weight for 3 bowling balls. Sweet pickups. That Avengers 100 is KILLER !!!!! I went back sunday and blew through another 200. I filled 1/3rd of a longbox when I got home last night, and only 25 or so were modern. I bought a ton of silver and bronze, especially after our dinner discussion. Now the wife to be expects me to sell my books BTW, thanks Nik....
  19. Its funny that you say that.. Now go review the post as it sits next to your avatar. HILLARIOUS
  20. So basically like I said. The more people the better the chance of shady deals. Doesnt mean that we are all lumped in with them. And I have heard some horror stories of Michigan. I dont doubt some of the "insanity" that takes place there.
  21. Lifeblood of the country? A little presumptuous I think. No, NYC is definately on top. On top of what? Big business, central office locations. Banking, stock market.
