  1. I asked him about that, if it'd become available and he mentioned he'd sold it to you. Which was fine as I was tapped out and I'd just landed my copy. Glad it went to a collector who appreciates Bizarro as well! (thumbs u
  2. Thanks, guys! Normally this book is outside of my budget, but once I saw it, I bugged Metropolis for 3 weeks before they finally came up with a price and I talked Frank into time payments. I'd been looking for a copy like this for quite some time myself. I was heart-broken when the 9.0 copy on Heritage went for $3K. The only thing was, that it had light tan pages, and I was hoping for cream or better. This is a nice substitute.
  3. Is the Nik slump over? I'm still scared to send any more in.
  4. I just realized I could contribute to this thread with a decent book of my own that people may not have seen in the "new in your collection" thread from the Comics General section. I know before I got ahold of this copy, I hardly ever saw this pop up anywhere.
  5. Nik will have a hitman coming your way soon! Then maybe I'd get a shot at his Thor 137. I wouldn't mind that book either and I don't even like Thor. But I like Ulik!! Nik, 9.0's and 9.2's need love too!! Still sweet books by most normal peoples standards. That's right. I'll take all your SA/BA keys in 9.0 and 9.2s dirt cheap, Nik. I'll love them like no other man can...
  6. That is a real pretty book but I hope you have some luck getting that sticker off the cover. Thanks to you and Vtcomics! I like the mylar it's in. It'll stay in there until I decide to get it slabbed.
  7. Thank you, Nik! I wish I could sell/trade you this one, but I'd have to be dead first. Rest assured, in the event of my death, you will get first crack at it.
  8. This was the prize of my last submission. My black cover "holy grail"... I was looking for an affordable copy ever since I first bought a VG/F copy at a flea market for a quarter as a kid.
  9. Nik, I may be chasing your Thor #137 if you put it up for sale in October.
  10. I finally landed this last month after spending a long time trying to find a real nice copy that didn't have light tan pages (as does the top census on CGC.) It was actually at the top of my list as a "holy grail".
  11. I saw the left cover tonight and really liked the look. One of the better covers I've seen lately.
  12. can you saw...witchhunt?? yep,the mystery has been solved...I would have gotten away with it if it werent for you meddling kids! There was a lot hidden there,I agreed to buy some books and was unable to finish some deals at the time.Things happen. I have had WAY more transactions here than these few that have gone bad over the last year and I have sold some serious books here as well.I am not asking anyone to buy or sell anything to me if they dont want to.I asked for PM's,and am trying to resolve the issues and so far all I have gotten is a public posting. That doesn't cut it. You have to clean up your act in order to get off the probation list. If it means making a public thread in "Comics General" and the Sales thread asking for all those you stiffed to contact you, then so be it. Nothing in your posts have suggested any kind of remorse or humility whatsoever, so nobody's going to feel inclined to give you a break until you make reparations to all affected parties (and they all vouch for you in THIS thread.) Then Divad or whoever's the head of this thread will possibly remove your name from probation. Until you meet all those points... your name is mud here.
  13. Kudos (I know, this isn't the kudos thread) to skypinkblu for shedding some well-deserved light on this matter!
  14. Jeffreykli TCGCBCPAD#0001 What does this custom title mean? Oh, and very cool of you to offer Ian that rare book. (thumbs u
  15. I pretty much feel the same way Forrest, for myself...If I can't pay up front, I don't buy it, however I have one boarder who has been buying some of my Marvels, who is just marvelous, and I trust him completely, I really don't mind helping someone else out at all...but I'd drive myself crazy if I owed money, so I don't do that. I should modify my statement, I had one person reneg on time payments, but he never made any, and he lost his babysitter, so it was a non issue for me... I'm in the middle of my second time payment deal on the boards as a buyer and I think the seller should always keep the entire payment because once a buyer agrees to the amount in the deal, it's all or nothing. Letting them back out of the deal should be left up to the seller's discretion on a case by case basis, but definitely shouldn't be the rule.
  16. I hate them and I think they're an obscene rip-offs. It really ticks me off that DC can cancel major super hero titles like Aquaman, Hawkman, Catwoman, Atom, Martian Manhunter, etc etc, titles that should be the mainstay of DC, and yet waste so much time and effort printing these stupid variants. If I ever had a reason to want to stop, these would be the core reason behind it. A-Men.
  17. Chalk me down as well, thanks. (thumbs u Andy Make this the second dealer I will not do business with from now on What's his eBay/store name? I think I will avoid him, too.
  18. You're not offending anyone, it's just the forum rules. No big deal, just put all your for sale books in one thread and close the other ones Divad's not the only 'forum cop', everyone watches out to make sure everyone abides by the guidelines. The few rules we DO have keep the place running a lot smoother than it has any right to IMO. I agree with this. Don't take it personal.
  19. Zod would like to thank Nik for trying to locate a specific book in a specific grade at Chicago!

  21. Hopefully by the end of this month I'll have at least a handful to show.
  22. That sucks. It's also why I don't take books out of their bags when scanning.
  23. Good analogy and one I would take.
