  1. Nice Avatar switch Jayman. That Robot Woman is a great story And awesome books everyone! Looks like San Diego was fun.
  2. Yeah, 27 is hard in HG but this was the best I could find so far of this issue. Too bad about those vertical spine creases... Oh yeah! THATS a horror cover. And translucent hands I believe... Plus I love me some precode teeth.
  3. Yes! I agree with the others. That Skeleton breaking the frame wins. Thanks so much for posting these comic jack! I appreciate you taking the time. Great book.
  4. Anyone have a raw copy of this book? I'm curious as to what the interior stories are like. Do you crack the books and Mylar them Gabe or keep em slabbed?
  5. I just read thru this whole thread. I think I'm gonna be sick. Awesome books everyone!
  6. BAM! Precode Horror Favorites: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7793260#Post7793260
  7. I think these are the two Amazing Mysteries being referred to:
  8. Wow Jimbo!! Wow! Ok, don't you dare crack THAT copy out. Well done sir. Ingels is easily in my top three....and he might even be number one in my book (depending on the day)....I'm still assembling a low/mid grade collection of his covers. All Haunt of Fear too. It's neat to see how things were really organized at EC right before the collapse. Artists seemed to lead on books with their cover art....I wonder how things would of gone if no code had ever been formed....would Marvels Silver Age still happen? Or what if Stan Lee stopped doing comics after the code?......ok enough rambling. Great book buddy!
  9. Great cover! I believe Wrightson said (of Ingles) that his style just seemed to drip and ooze off of the page! Indeed! You could smell rotten flesh just looking at Ingels art. That issue is special because it features the origin of the ol Witch narrator. Crack that slab Jimbo! Set her free.
  10. Love this cover! One of my favorite LB Coles. Congrats.
  11. Wow! That's a great trade for 50 squid. I wonder what they would give up for salmon or tuna. Seriously, nice batch of books. That green Spellbound is one of my favorite Atlas covers. Killer books everyone! I haven't been posting much latley but I'm still dropping by. This hobby is hard to leave. Once it gets it's tentacles wrapped around ya, it won't let go!
  12. Thanks Balls! I was at a comic meetup last weekend and two guys traded business cards before me. You had designed both logos. Very cool and great work! I didn't even know we had a Welcome to the boards thread. This place has more layers than the worlds largest onion.
  13. Welcome Jeremy! Great seeing those things framed up. Who would of thought they would ever get that much love? Thanks for posting those. Amazing. Glad to see you here. This place is killer. Spend a year or two on here and you should receive a degree in collecting. My time here has been a huge education about the hobby and what's out there. Enjoy and Happy Collecting! Christian Slade
  14. It can't get too big. There's only 399 Atlas pre-code horror books. ..... Methinks thou hast done thine homework..... GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Shameless regurgitation of stats compiled by George Suarez for Tales too Terrible to Tell. Tales too Terrible to Tell Great stuff Agreed. Great books everyone!
  15. All killer books but I'm especially liking that top row! yeah the top row for sure! Indeed. That middle book though has a great creature erupting from an eye socket story.
  16. Awesome books everyone. Jayman, Nice to see you return that classic panel to your signature.
  17. Jayman! Love the Ken Shannon 7..... One of my favorites.
  18. You hear that crying sound? Not a groaning corpse...... Just my jealous sobs after looking at Cheetahs books. All great but the Mister Mystery 1 is sublime. Great to see this thread rise again from the grave. I'll have to dig up something to contribute.
  19. Wow. Great minds think alike Alan. I read his post and thought about posting a link to this book. These days, I takes a more conservative approach to buying big art books. (They take up so much more room than regular comics!). But when I saw this treasure chest of an art book, I had to have it. Great artist and quite a legacy he left behind. His daughter is also a wonderful contemporary illustrator.
  20. Awesome books gang! It sure is the season for em.
  21. Lou Cameron. His interiors are equally entertaining, though he eventually left comics to be a writer of some note. Another Ace cover that he drew: In my Top 25 Precode covers!
