  1. Nice Haul!!!!! I'm reading in the #150's now and about to start the Miller issues. This has been a great series so far!
  2. Interview about the latest in the world of Walking Dead: http://www.newsarama.com/comics/010914-Walking-Dead.html
  3. One of the best Spidey covers ever!! Great looking book!
  4. I'm reading these as I go and plan to go up until the "Born Again" storyline....then we'll see. right now I'm getting into the early #100's. So far this character has been alot of fun. I'm also reading FF and ASM but there's just something really cool about DD. Maybe because he's not as popular as the others and more chances were taken with the storylines. No matter what, I'll never get tired of the great concept of a "blind" superhero. Very cool!
  5. Finally got a #1! Now all that's left is a #2 and I've got 1-100!
  6. Me too! I've got one of those poster size sheets of the Wacky Cards before they were cut, hanging in a frame in my studio....across form the SW figs of course!
  7. Here's my humble little copy of #6. Now all I need is a #2, #4, and a #9 to complete my #1-10!
  8. Was that the latest #3 from the last ComicLink auction? I got a low-grade one a few months back from them. A great book indeed! I love that semi splash page with the spiked creature in front of the movie theatre. It's one of the first comic images I remember from childhood (in the reprinted pocket digest) Congrats! (thumbs u
  9. Just started mine earlier this year. I've got most of 80-127 in the can along with a few keys like #3 and #6......I'm only assembling a reader collection Good to Fine. I figure it should take me the best part of a decade to get #1-80 all completed...not to mention AF15. Side note: I'm also putting together FF #1-126 at the same time this is going on....again, should take me the best part of the next decade....should be fun!
  10. Thanks for putting that poll together MacMan! Lots of fun!
  11. BEAUTY!! Gotta love those Sid's copies. I hope to get my hands on one one day! Congrats on the quest!!
  12. Great looking book! Always nice getting those early Spideys checked off the list!
  13. Let's not forget #41 which kicks off this great story arc! I love the way all the colors jump forward against that simple mint-gray background. Great sense of depth in this one too!
  14. Here's my copy. Got it for $60 from ComicLink a few months ago:
  15. #13 is a great issue! I love the expressions on the Red Ghost as he's watching the apes reveal their powers..great stuff! A trip to the moon and the 1st appearance of the Watcher makes this one of the most undervalued FF's.
  16. Maggots!!! They should of had a comic title all to their own!
  17. Nothin wrong with that 3 that a little love can't compensate for! NICE 2.5! Thanks for the love for #3, you too Human Torch!
  18. Got these 2 from the latest ComicLink auction....It's a pretty beat up #3, but still my first copy! As for the #7, this should make a great reading copy....I recently read in the "Kirby-King of Comics" book that this was the only F.F. cover he inked himself.
  19. I've just recently gotten around to reading the whole FF Kirby/Lee run. Great stuff!!!! Why start in the middle. Start where it all began, FF#1...use the ESSSENTIAL collections (they're cheap!)....you wont' regret it!
  20. NICE!!!!!!! This was one of the first stories I ever read. That page with the monster sculpture in front of the theater...classic Kirby! I remember staring at that thing for hours as a kid thinking how cool that was! I used to carry around the old digest-size reprint.
  21. Here are two books I have been waiting to acquire. They bracket my 181 nicely so that completes my Wolvie first appearance trilogy!
  22. I read the little FF digest sized reprint of the early issues when I was around 6 or so. This was my earliest exposure to comics. Zip ahead 30+ years later and I am finally getting around to reading this historic Lee/Kirby run with the ESSENTIAL black&white trades. Wow! What have I been missing. I always knew it was good, the real reason I didn't get into it for so long was because, I knew how obsessive I would be in starting to collect some of these issues. Within a few months of starting the run, and I am just now about to read the famous issue #48. I have already gotten around 16 issues of the originals including some keys and favorites (1, 5, 8, 13, 16, 17, 48, 49, 50, 51). To keep the costs within reason, I am only collecting VG-VF, and avoiding NM so I don't feel guilty handling and reading these, especially the first 20 or so issues. Glad to finally be an F.F. fan!!!! Now I understand why these books are significant and special.
