  1. Let's keep the Harvey Horror train a chugging...... Feet and Rats.... ....
  2. Audio books mostly so I can keep working at the same time: -Stephen King Short stories -Treasure Island
  3. (thumbs u Very cool! Thanks for all the comments gang.
  4. Thanks for the comments! Yeah, it is the item that is most easily recognized. The cool story with that lamp though is that it was a gift from my dad when I graduated college and got my own place. He was going to visit me and told me that a wooden crate arrived for me and that he didn't know what it was. He actually made a giant wooden crate to give this thing to me in and marked it with FRAGILE..Hilarious .....It was such a blast to open! SInce then. The wooden crate was put on wheels and is a moving work surface/storage device.
  5. This isn't exclusively a comic room but it's also the studio I work in every day (nicknamed "The Cave"). It's a small space I've designed to make work for me. You'll see I'm a Star Wars collector as well as a comics nut but you'll find a bunch of other weird things in here too....
  6. It's a great key! I love the other stories in these TTA issues too.
  7. Nice book BOOT! Still need to get me one of these. I love the painted look of the cover. How are the stories? Jayman, Thanks for posting that Mystic story. Real creepy stuff. Love the cover on that book too! Here's one I FINALLY got.....Beyond 25. TOUGH book to find in any condition. If anyone else has any copies, I'd love to see them. This is the only copy I've found available in the last 2 years of looking. It's a solid mid-grade with great PQ so I ain't complaining. High on my want list, it feels great to at last check this one off! The green coloring on the skeletons is great. I also like the look of the passenger with the book. Like he's pausing to see what's going on up there? Lou Cameron story at the end but some equally wild stuff throughout the whole rag. These ACE comics might be some of the most underrated in the PreCode Horror realm. -Christian
  8. I agree! Love the colors on this book too...the purple and reds especially. Also, I love the drawing quality of the characters. Great pick up Jayman!
  9. Nice!!! Where did this one come from? After FAC 20, this is probably Story's most well known cover!
  10. Nice one Keith! Such a great cover! Glad to see you got it for a reasonable price too. I think Russ Heath is one of my favorite PreCode artists. I like the expressions he puts on his characters.
  11. Woah! That friggin rocks! Awesome drawing Matthew. This cover design is perfect for the Shiverbones update. I love these Black Cat horror issues and am putting together the run of them myself. Great books!
  12. Can't wait to see where this goes. Glad to hear that this was resolved Scott!
  13. The single reprint of that Haunt Of Fear 25 was my first PreCode ever. This was 1998. What a cover and I remember standing in my LCS saying, who is this Graham Ingels guy! He can draw like a demon and an angel all at once!
  14. The EC's are incredible. They consistently had the best stories and artwork of the precode publishers which is why so much of it has been reprinted. That said, there's nothing like an original book. Congrats on the Christmas gift! And let me say that this is one of my favorite EC covers. I have a sub collection going of animals getting the better of man. Bear trap mishap...... This along with #9 is at the top of the list. The thing I've always liked about this cover is how I catch myself looking at the background as much as the main characters. That background is so well drawn with so much detail in it. It looks like something out of a Christmas card. In fact the man's clothes coloring also pushes this holiday theme.... Is that Santa I see flyng across the night sky way back there?
  15. Hulk 1 is such a great looking book! A couple of years ago I started reading a reprint of issues 1-6 and stopped about halfway through because I realized I'd like to read these in original form. So far I've got a #2, but still need to get the rest. Hulk #1 is high on my SA want list. Just need to find a nice lowgrade presentable copy. Definitely some beauties in here!
  16. I actually got this last summer but am just getting around to posting it. Tough book to find in presentable midgrade. My favorite part of this cover is the way the man is grabbing his face and the launatic with it's arms raised in the background. Very cool and weird drawing!
  17. Welcome back Keith! This is an appropriate cover to post after coming out of hiding for a year. "What is this place?"....... Some of these ACG covers really rock. I haven't seen this one yet.
  18. That made Darth's recent Top 25 list Indeed. (thumbs u Awesome cover! Congrats Cheetah!
  19. I recently picked up this Horror Tales. It's the first Eerie mag in my collection. I usually don't collect magazines but now we know who was pulling the brain out on the famous WM #5 cover! Also, if you haven't heard yet, one of our boardie's, Mike H. recently published a book on these crazy Eerie magazines: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1932595872/ref=pe_112610_17644660_snp_dp Anybody get their copy yet?
  20. Not bad for a few bucks! I still need that one. Love the Wolverton art!
  21. One of our boardies asked to republish the Terrible 25 on his blog! : http://www.bleedingcool.com/2010/10/31/the-terrible-25-of-pre-code-comic-book-horror/ After putting in a good chunk of time on it, I'm glad I can share it with more collectors. Thanks again Mark! -Christian
  22. Great List! I can say I own one book from every tier and two from the top five! There are some surprises in there but all in all nicely done! (thumbs u It's great to hear you've got so many Jayman, though I'm not surprised! Still got that killer Startling 11?.... Those are all great covers. I think I have one or two of them but most of them have been available. Don't know why I haven't purchased them. Only the Startling Terror and Venus is really overpriced. I think a few more of those covers are commanding high prices now BB (I guess it's all relative though). I've seen Horrific 3, Mr Mystery 12 and Weird Mysteries, all in mid grades, going for big prices lately. I really wanted that Mr. Mystery 12 5.0 that recently ended on CC but just missed out on it. Yeah, I remember that MM 12. Another 2.5 sold here on the boards a couple of weeks ago. They do turn up but when they do, expect to pony up the coin to get it. That said, I'm sure you'll get one. If you were able to acquire some of the impressive books in your sig line, a MM12 shouldn't be too far off in your future. Good luck! (thumbs u
