  1. Look what arrived in the mail yesterday...... Weird Tales Of The Future #7 I picked up this devil of a book from Andy "Goldust Comics". Thanks Andy for such an excellent comic! This is definitely in my top 5 PreCode covers (Have we done a poll yet of the all time greatest PreCode covers?...might be fun....) -I love the creativity in this cover. Totally sick!! -Some wild characters here. Each one has a story I bet! -The drawing is so well done. I love the fine linework especially in the "insignificant" areas. Look at that rock cliff behind the devil head! -Great sense of depth....From the front creepies leading back to the devil mouth to the lake of fire with it's billowing smoke!! -This is what I call great Precode Horror! I searched for the last half a year for the copy that was right for me and this is it!
  2. Nice Count! Red and Green dresses from Christmas to ring in the New Year!!
  3. Nice Artboy! So it was you that scored that sweet TOT set in last night's C-Link auction. I have a copy of issue #2, it's got some great stories!
  4. Here's a little old Avon I picked up earlier this year.....
  5. Thanks for posting those Rick! Looks like all crime from here. Some nice looking artwork though. I guess for PreCode Horror fiends, interest in this book lies in its cover which is very very cool! Thanks again for the scans!
  6. Great job scoping that hoof Jayman! This one goes on the wantlist...oh wait! It's already on there! Indeed, nice looking horror books up here! I'd be interested to hear about the contents of that Monster Crime as well.
  7. Awesome book Tim! White pages too! This is one of EC's best covers. That lump sticking out of the side of his broken neck!
  8. Wow!! Beautiful books Rick Starr! That is a nice batch of PreCodes. That Fantastic Fears #6 is one of my favorite covers!
  9. Great pickup and a great cover. I agree! Great cover! Those three story previews look cool too! "The Madman!" might make a good bedtime tale. These Atlas covers are a great deal. You get the full cover art and then 3 bonus covers with the teasers! Great stuff!!
  10. So cute!! Congrats on the new addition Scrooge!!
  11. Nice one Keith! I have not picked any of these up yet for my collection. Baker does all 3 covers right? Is there Baker art on the insides?
  12. Hehe. Looks great. Happy Halloween! Nice!!!!! I've said it before, Startling #11 is one of the best covers and the one that got me roped into this PreCode mess! Here's another one from the same San Jose Ped! Love this cover!
  13. Please do! Well....not to downplay DC's Church copy....but here is mine. A little higher graded....but not as nice paper and not a ped. I am a pre-code ped ho'. I would trade ya! Sorry Scott! I'm holding onto this one for awhile! ! 'm not feeling bad for you either. You can cry your eyes on all those other stellar pedigree PreCodes you have in that sweet collection of yours! (thumbs u Who's handing out comics tonight for Halloween? First kid at my door tonight gets this one.......
  14. Thanks Tim! I agree. Web Of Evil #5 is one sweet cover! I'd say the best of the Quality PreCode covers.
  15. Right you are! I went ahead and corrected that! It's right there on the CGC label. SSS #3, not #10. Don't worry! Tis the season to be obtuse!!
  16. I consider SSS #3 to be an undervalued PreCode cover and it is one of my favorites so I splurged for a nice copy. Not only is it beautifully drawn by George Evans, but it has a headless man running at a lady. Totally over the top! I hear you! That AIT #27 is one tough book! I snagged this low grade a couple of weeks ago on ebay for like $37. Ironically, Mr. Roberts just posted one for sale over in the Sales Thread.
  17. It's been awhile since I've posted some Horror books so how about a few Orange rags from my vault that scream PreCode Halloween!! Here we have a Mile High BEAUTY and two low grade BEASTS....
  18. Second this! Kudos to Dannyboy for working out a deal and selling me a beautiful PreCode that his father bought off the newstand! Thanks Dan!
  19. Matthew, those new paintings are amazingly sick! Serious talent and vision there! Well done!
  20. That Startling Terror #11 was my entry into Golden Age PreCodes earlier this year. How could I look away from a cover like that!? Welcome to the craziness!
  21. Wow, That is amazing!! One of the best PreCode covers ever. And the signature is in a nice location too! This is the first PreCode book I've seen in a sig series slab! Very cool! Congrats!!
  22. What are you trying to do Matthew? Get me into Pulps?! Seriously, those are great covers! Even though there might of been some "borrowing" I think Everett still made it his own. Those comic guys were banging out work so quickly, I think they just drew whatever was at the top of their mind, even if it was an old pulp cover they saw the day before in a discount box at the newstand.
