  1. Thank you for the compliment on the 33. You are right about comics as they can be a nice place for us to find “sanctuary” as you say. That was the main reason for me posting starting 13 days ago. Some things are very difficult to put into words. I re-read my own post and wanted to clarify one thing. When I mentioned “tough week” it had little to do with the volume of work and majority to do with the sadness I see all around. It’s “tough” to deliver food to family after family where grown men and women are sobbing as they receive food and see their children eating. Many families have both parents who lost both their jobs within the last 3 weeks. They are missing hope and filled with unanswered/unanswerable questions about their future. Very tough emotionally. I’m not sure I said it any better, but I tried to clarify.
  2. Day 10,11,12, and today 13 Had a tough week. Don’t worry, no one died or anything like that. As some of you know In my career I get the privilege of serving meals to school age children. During this crisis, the need has amplified to an unseen level. We are serving/delivering over 18,000 meals a day to children who are “confined” to their homes. My time was spent in other places so this is a 4 day post since I haven’t been to the CGC site in days. Since this is a multi-day post, the book for today will be a special one (at least to me). This book is either my favorite or second favorite book I own depending on the day. My avatar is from this cover. The avatar was made from a 9.2 I owned before this one. Purchased this Ohio copy and never looked back.
  3. Day 9 Spyder mentioned Planet 17 so....... Another D Zolnerowich masterpiece.
  4. That is such a great cover. The alien is cool and you can see a few more of him in the background. The space ship shape/design and the Bubble helmets are so classic
  5. Kind of surprised I didn’t get any friendly debate on this comment.....🤔
  6. Day 8 This book needs no introduction. The scan speaks for itself. I will say that I think 14 is more tough/rare/difficult than the notoriously elusive 15 IMO, even more so in grade.
  7. This book is 10x better when it has strong red and pink. Your is one of those few.
  8. Day 7 Let’s face it, there is a long list of Planets that are tough. There is also an equally long list of Planets that are in abundant supply. Planet 6 is on the first list. Overstreet and Gerber concur on its difficulty. This book has some of the Cherished reds we all wish were on our FH books. I like the odd angles of this cover and the multiple levels of action going on. Take a deep look at the cover, you might see some things you don’t notice at a first glance. Lastly, White pages which are a real joy for any GA book.
  9. Day 6 I will follow the Planet 3 above with a black background book of my own. My Planet 25 is a book that is mid grade. Nice black background and cover drawn by Dan Zolnerowich. This book I am a bit sentimental about because it is the first GA book I ever bought. Love it purple label and all
  10. Glare at the top is forgiven. What a nice book. Just love the black background.
  11. I watch for a ton of Planets and 24 is one I don’t see often, and even more difficult to locate 7.0 and above. Nice book
  12. I really like 10 also. Dan Zolnerowich is the man. The aliens eyes alone would have made me put down 10cents for this one if I saw it on the rack or clipped up along the comic line at a newsstand back in the 40’s. The black cover sets the stage and makes all the other colors pop 👍🏻
  13. Day 5 In keeping with the “landmark” and recognizable city theme from my Day 4 post.....Paris, France
  14. Day 4 I have always thought this was an extra cool cover with the Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline in background.
  15. Moving forward, I think I’ll post one book a day. Thank you so much to all who have posted and/or commented in the last 24 hours. These boards are full of great people, most of which I am glad to call a friend.
  16. One of the ones I never should have let go of. It is a beautiful book Flex
  17. This is not a new acquisition, I just wanted to post a Planet book here to take a few moments and have “fun” sharing and thinking/talking about our great hobby. If you feel the need with all going on in the world to just take a moment to post a Planet then by all means do so. It could be a nice diversion , if only for a moment.....
  18. This book makes my mind go in so many directions with questions. I would love to see the story behind this wild cover. Cool book 👍🏻
  19. Rangers 3 is a cool book. Not a member of the club , but not from a lack of trying
  20. Welcome to the 14 club. Great looking book, Planet 14 is as beautiful as it is Rare.
  21. This was a fun surprise to find while reading my new Rangers 12. This is a full page ad for Planet on the inside cover. It Spotlights my favorite series in the title “Lost World” .
