That's the stuff.
I needed that fix.

When I was first starting my ASM run,I really wasn't thinking about AF#15.......it was high priced even in 2005,and I needed that first issue to begin my run.Looking back, maybe I should have got it,but I have no regrets,my collection feels complete, and if I get struck by lightning and fall into 15k, I will get that AF#15........ (thumbs u
That's what I'm saying. You have a complete run of Amazing Spider-Man, no asterisk.

All Winners!

Bought a Marvel Premiere #47 from me, and all went well!
Anytime, John!

Everett really was a great artist.
I wish I had appreciated him more earlier in my collecting days (when I had money).
-
But I think some of them are the McCoy.
Bob Beerbohm gave me a poster made from the "Comicland" shot that serves as a nameplate on my comic room.
-
Having all of 1959 will be quite an accomplishment, Frankie.
That's really when Marvel became Marvel.

Looks like it's your day, BAF!
Buy a lottery ticket!

Shock and Awe, sir.

AA, AAF 1-14 done
JIM 50-82 done
ST 67-99 done
SW 1-5 need 4 and 5
TOS 1-38 done
TTA 1-34 done
WOF 15-19 need 15,17 and 19
...and none of the books listed as "needs" have Kirby stories.

Great List!
Wasn't Strange Tales 60 dated 8/57 (pre-implosion)? My list would start at Strange Tales 61 which was dated 2/58.
That's what I thought, too.
(looking)
Current Overstreet concurs; #60 is 8/57.
Of course, I still only collect #67 on.
-
You are right tho, BAF, if post-implosion is the criterion, that's the list.
I may expand my wants to cover the non-Kirby/Ditko issues some day.
-
Looking at it again, Bronty is dead on. It really can be boiled down to Jan. 1959.
The only real exception is Strange Worlds #1, but as our historian rodan57 has taught me, it was released at the same time as TOS1 and TTA1.
-
Well, for me, the pre-hero era is all about the Kirby and Ditko stories. I consider those to be the real roots of Marvel.
I don't have my referrence in front of me, but I think JIM #49 may be post-implosion (PI), but as it lacks the A-listers I don't throw it in. Strange Tales #67 is the first post-implosion book (I believe).
For the same reason, there are a few PI issues of World of Fantasy for which I feel nothing.

Oh, Jetta, you little minx, you!
-
I think of it as TOS 1up, TTA 1up, JIM 50up, ST67up, AA1up, SW 1up which without doing the math I'm pretty sure is less than 150 books!)
Throw in the Kirby/Ditko issues of World of Fantasy and that's exactly how I define them, too.

If I ever get a scanner, I'm wearin' this thread out! Taking my group shots, I noticed I have a few of these that are pretty nice.
-
I think there are new collectors entering the category.
I've been dabbling in Kirby westerns for more than a decade, but I didn't get serious until I had all but run out of pre-hero Marvels to buy (last year or so).
-
Some really fun, seldom seen comics you got there!
-
Wow. Really beautiful.
That might be my favorite Ditko cover.
-
www.highgradecomics.com just listed a REAL nice batch of early FF's ....... GOD BLESS...

I upgraded my #34 thru Bob and I'm very happy with my new copy!

Nice one! Hadn't seen it before!
-
That's how you bump a thread!
