  1. It depends. Per their fees page: “The grade assigned to the book should not change, unless any damage occurred post-encapsulation, in which case the grade will be adjusted accordingly. To qualify, the book must still be encapsulated in its original CGC holder.”

I’ve had a couple of damaged slabs reholdered with no grade changes. In my case, the inner sleeve was still intact. If in doubt, you could post the question and pics to the Ask CGC forum.

  2. Is the invoice number the submission number or packing slip number? The submission number can be tracked on the submission tracking page. Or you might be able to ask someone from CGC on the Ask CGC forum.

  3. I think the ASM is “Marvel Comics Amazing Spider-Man #1 6/22 JScottCampbell.com Edition A”

MJ&BC virgin is “Marvel Comics Mary Jane & Black Cat #1 2/23 JScottCampbell.com "Virgin" Edition”

For the MJ&BC trade dress, I see “Marvel Comics Mary Jane & Black Cat #1 2/23 JScottCampbell.com Edition” but am not sure if this is the retail or non-retail version. I am seeing the retail version on ebay with this label.

You may have to click on the “I can’t find my comic” option and input the info to differentiate the retail and non-retail.

    The Amazing Spider-Man #1-A

Mary Jane and Black Cat #1 Dark Web (Covers A, B, and retail).

Can anyone help me figure all this out?

I apologize in advance for the dumb question.

    What are the publication years?

Also, since signed and not witnessed by CGC, you’ll probably get the green label for these if you submit.

Thank you for this guidance on shipping.  I have a question about best way to send several, maybe 3-5, Gem boxes.

Would you suggest bubble wrap around each of them or is that over kill?

Does it matter if the Gem boxes are standing up vertical like in this image or laying flat?  Seems that if laying flat, even if bubble warped, pressure from the top will transfer to the books.  But it looks like that's how CGC recommends doing it with their mailing kits..?

If standing vertical is best, and you're sending several gem boxes, the box is kinda square, maybe labeling the shipping box with that side up will help keep the box in that direction ..?

Is shipping Gem boxes vertical best protection?

I think the best way, overkill or not,  is whatever you feel comfortable/safe with. Main thing for me is to keep books from shifting around in the box.  I’ve typically done bubble wrap around the entire stack of gemini mailers. But if I had some higher value books, I’d probably go a little overboard for my own peace of mind.
