I’ve noticed it’s been taking them a little less than a week to log submissions into the system lately. So yours will probably get updated in a few days.
A year ago, it was taking almost a month or so when they had a backlog.

Milking the foil variants....
Speaking of milking it, was on ebay and saw a couple of comp copies of a bleeding-S blue foil variant that’s supposedly yet-to-be-released (different from the regular yellow-and-red S, blue-foiled one that BTC released a few months ago).

Still unclear here...Are you looking for a comic book title? Or are you trying to find an image of a comic book?

Someone with more experience may chime in with more details, but pressing can't fix color breaks (those white marks you've circled). And while cleaning sometimes go hand in hand with pressing services, I don't think pressing itself is cleaning. Some stains may require more involved techniques (if they can be removed at all).

I just purchased a certified comic book but can I add it to inventory online? How do I determine the value of this comic book? Thanks.
What inventory are you wanting to add it to? The CGC census? The CGC registry?

Huh-wha?
"On the postal label says “15.9 oz” meaning as 450.75 oz."
No, it says 0 lbs, 15.9 oz, which means it weights 15.9 ounces, 1 tenth of an ounce shy of 16 ounces. 16 oz would equal 1 lb. Three comics packed in an envelope inside a box could easily weigh approximately 1 lb. What's the issue?
I think they meant to say 450.74 grams (15.9 oz). But I still wasn't sure what the issue was either...also not sure of a significant price difference if at all for a package weighing 15.9 oz vs 11.8 oz.

With Blackstone’s support, CCG has already invested tens of millions of dollars to develop state-of-the-art AI capabilities, best-in-class operations, a new internal technology system and more. Our customers are already starting to see significant benefits from these investments. We cleared our backlogs in trading and sports cards early in 2022, and we have nearly cleared our extensive backlog in comic books. Our Customer Service, a weak point during our worst periods of backlog, now scores above industry metrics. We also launched expert and impartial grading services for video games, with a holder that is widely regarded as the best in the industry. And of course, our very first vertical that started it all, coins, continues to be a major focus for us and will remain so.
CCG continues to reach new heights. We have now graded more than 75 million collectibles — with more than 10 million being graded in 2022 alone. It’s been amazing to witness this growth, and I am excited to see what our team will accomplish in 2023 and beyond.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of our clients and particularly my hard-working colleagues. It has been my pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and see how your passion and support have made this company and our hobbies so much better. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mark Salzberg
ChairmanMaybe I'm totally off the mark, but the blurb about AI and "new internal technology system" and the increase in QC complaint issues piqued my curiosity knowing a lot of industries are looking at AI to try to cut corners on basic QA/QC functions....

You can probably post your question in the spare a grade forum with pics and get some good estimates on a grade (https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/). (Just make sure you read the rules before posting.)

There are companies that will authenticate signatures - whom I trust coming from the sports collectible world. Generally you can figure out the reputable ones - I don’t want to promote competitors to CGC.
To add, these companies also offer services to look at sigs on online auctions or sites for a small fee before you decide to bid on or buy something.

What is the meaning of the asterisk to the left of a dollar sign, within an active auction?
An asterisk will be displayed next to the price of a given auction lot within 5 days of the end date/time of an auction lot, if the current bid has not yet reached or exceeded the seller's reserve price. The asterisk next to the Current Bid price signifies that the price displayed is no longer an actual bid, but instead was raised automatically to one bid price beneath the seller's reserve amount. The asterisk next to the Minimum Bid price signifies that the next bid will hit the seller's reserve for the itemFrom https://www.comiclink.com/service_text.asp?3424

You're not set to vacation mode are you? That can be set to block offers while away.
Nah, I wasn’t on vacay mode. Just double-checked to be sure I didn’t do it accidentally. Oh well…I eventually ignored them and they then contacted me again under a different account so I’m inclined to think there was something fishy going on….

Judging from all the listings that just hit eBay, looks like it's a common theme...
-
Anyone know why a potential buyer wouldn't be able to make an offer on a listing that has Best Offer enabled (with no minimum)? Is it because they've got strikes against them or fall under my buyer requirement stipulations (e.g., x number of cancellations within x months, locations, etc.)? Someone supposedly says they can't put in an offer and want me to do it on my end by lowering the price on a listing...is it a scam?

There are a lot of different opinions on in-house vs third-party pressing. From my own experience, I get my comics pressed by a third-party before sending them in. However, I figured the comics get handled by a lot of folks for signature events and pressing in-house gets done after the signing and before the grading. I factored that in as well as worried about getting it back from a third-party to make it in time for the event, so for my first (and so far only) signature event, I had it pressed in-house by CCS. The caveat of course is the delay in getting things back and the risk of a bad press.
Probably didn’t really answer your question, but just things to consider…
And as for holos, I’ve seen plenty of SS signed holo covers available online/ebay, so I don’t think it’d be an issue…

hi i never got a packing slip and i dont know why do i have to print it out?
If you go to your account and click on your submissions, you should be able to view/print your packing slip. Without a packing slip included with the books you send in, they'd have no way of tracking the books they receive....

I know with comics sealed in a polybag, they open the bag and grade the comic (and they may end up tossing everything else). I think you also have to give explicit permission to open the bag. Most folks will open the bag themselves and send in just the book.

I think I saw someone mentioned before that you couldn’t submit more than one tier at a time on the form. If that’s the case, maybe it auto-bumped everything to the higher tier because of the ones valued over $400?

I read somewhere on these boards (or maybe it was on another) that even a new comic straight from the publisher typically isn't any better than maybe a VF/NM to NM range, especially for modern era books. DId you get it pressed?
