  1. There are a lot of different opinions on in-house vs third-party pressing. From my own experience, I get my comics pressed by a third-party before sending them in. However, I figured the comics get handled by a lot of folks for signature events and pressing in-house gets done after the signing and before the grading. I factored that in as well as worried about getting it back from a third-party to make it in time for the event, so for my first (and so far only) signature event, I had it pressed in-house by CCS. The caveat of course is the delay in getting things back and the risk of a bad press.

Probably didn’t really answer your question, but just things to consider…

And as for holos, I’ve seen plenty of SS signed holo covers available online/ebay, so I don’t think it’d be an issue…

hi i never got a packing slip and i dont know why do i have to print it out?

If you go to your account and click on your submissions, you should be able to view/print your packing slip. Without a packing slip included with the books you send in, they'd have no way of tracking the books they receive....

  3. Sounds like you had a comic submitted under the Standard tier with a max value of $1000 but CGC decided it belongs in the Modern tier (comics 1975 to current) and valued at $400 or less. It's cheaper to submit to Modern than Standard.

Edit: I don't think it changes how it's graded or slabbed. I've read it's more about the value and insurance...

  4. In my own similar experience, they usually eventually corrected it themselves and sent to the correct address if the last digit or two in the zip was off (they figured out it was the correct city, just wrong zip/USPS branch). In a couple of cases, they just returned it back to me (the sender) as undeliverable. In both cases, it took them forever to do either...very frustrating...

my books show a received 11/22/22 and i shpped them out to cgc on 11/7/22, does anyone when the next signing for McFarlane is? it looks like they are getting him to sign in batches.

Did you mean you submitted to this event and it got logged into the system 11/22, or did it actually arrive at CGC on 11/22? If yours arrived by the 11/11 deadline, you should be good. I think a lot of folks are still waiting for their submissions to be logged.

Not sure if you're asking when the next McFarlane event or when this upcoming one is starting, but people are speculating this signing will be done in batches or over multiple days (which makes sense with the high number of submissions) some time in December. A lot of people who submitted early were able to get theirs signed in October when he was at NYCC.
