hi i never got a packing slip and i dont know why do i have to print it out?
If you go to your account and click on your submissions, you should be able to view/print your packing slip. Without a packing slip included with the books you send in, they'd have no way of tracking the books they receive....

I know with comics sealed in a polybag, they open the bag and grade the comic (and they may end up tossing everything else). I think you also have to give explicit permission to open the bag. Most folks will open the bag themselves and send in just the book.

I think I saw someone mentioned before that you couldn’t submit more than one tier at a time on the form. If that’s the case, maybe it auto-bumped everything to the higher tier because of the ones valued over $400?

I've never submitted standard or economy so that might just be what it appears as in their system. Others who have submitted those tiers might chime in? Did they downgrade your Ghost Rider to Economy (comics before 1975 and valued at 400 or less)? Or did it stay at Standard?
-
Sounds like you had a comic submitted under the Standard tier with a max value of $1000 but CGC decided it belongs in the Modern tier (comics 1975 to current) and valued at $400 or less. It's cheaper to submit to Modern than Standard.
Edit: I don't think it changes how it's graded or slabbed. I've read it's more about the value and insurance...

You got me curious, so I tried doing a quick search. Wikipedia shows Brian Pulido and Steven Hughes as the creators. Brian Pulido seems to have some credits (on IMDb) but it doesn't go back farther than the early 2000s. Couldn't find much on Hughes other than he passed away in 2000. May have been Pulido that you met/talked to?

Is it a crack or the inner sleeve?

In my own similar experience, they usually eventually corrected it themselves and sent to the correct address if the last digit or two in the zip was off (they figured out it was the correct city, just wrong zip/USPS branch). In a couple of cases, they just returned it back to me (the sender) as undeliverable. In both cases, it took them forever to do either...very frustrating...

No gloves? Now I know why some of my books have "fingerprint" in the graders notes.
and isn't that a box of gloves right there (but it could be a box of tissues)?

I don't know yet. No response from CGC.
@ak47po, did you get a response? Just curious if you got an update on it...

My McFarlane submissions were in G/I/E late last week, in QC 12/8, and just marked for shipping 12/10. Mine were part of the NYCC batch but I opted to get them pressed. (I think I saw some folks who got theirs signed this week are starting to hit QC and shipping as well.)

I contacted CGC Private signing team who sent the email to suggest they give to book back to Todd so he can try to improve the sig or maybe do a little remarque .
What are you planning to do?

My feelings would depend on whether Todd smudged it, or if a CGC employee did.
Since they’re waiving fees, I’m going to assume the latter.
my initial thought as well...that sucks, @ak47po..sorry, dude...hopefully, it won't be a horrible smudge, and you did get a free TM signing?

my books show a received 11/22/22 and i shpped them out to cgc on 11/7/22, does anyone when the next signing for McFarlane is? it looks like they are getting him to sign in batches.
Did you mean you submitted to this event and it got logged into the system 11/22, or did it actually arrive at CGC on 11/22? If yours arrived by the 11/11 deadline, you should be good. I think a lot of folks are still waiting for their submissions to be logged.
Not sure if you're asking when the next McFarlane event or when this upcoming one is starting, but people are speculating this signing will be done in batches or over multiple days (which makes sense with the high number of submissions) some time in December. A lot of people who submitted early were able to get theirs signed in October when he was at NYCC. -

Ah, thanks, Mike and Matt. When it went to scheduled for grading, I assumed it was still waiting to be signed but sounds like I got into the early/NYCC batch. Nice little surprise...

I use backing boards as well. Usually have a lot of extras lying around...

My McFarlane submission (2 books) was received by CCS around 9/23 and eventually moved to Scheduled for Grading 11/1. Just looked and saw it's now marked as G/E/I. I thought mine didn't make the NYCC batch. Maybe it did? Does CCS typically press before or after a book is signed?

thanks, @CGC Mike!

Yeah, I know are understandably delayed. But thanks for the info!
Sending in comics for my first private signing
in The Signature Room
Posted · Edited by 850chris
There are a lot of different opinions on in-house vs third-party pressing. From my own experience, I get my comics pressed by a third-party before sending them in. However, I figured the comics get handled by a lot of folks for signature events and pressing in-house gets done after the signing and before the grading. I factored that in as well as worried about getting it back from a third-party to make it in time for the event, so for my first (and so far only) signature event, I had it pressed in-house by CCS. The caveat of course is the delay in getting things back and the risk of a bad press.
Probably didn’t really answer your question, but just things to consider…
And as for holos, I’ve seen plenty of SS signed holo covers available online/ebay, so I don’t think it’d be an issue…
