  1. Rumor numbers on Walking Dead 100 print run - 350,000 just before FOC last night (final order cutoff).

If that's true the print run will be around 375,000 - 400,000 with last minute orders yesterday.

I know of at least 10,000 here locally so it doesn't surprise me considering at lot of stores ordered all 8 covers... Plus more to get additional 1 in 200.

If the numbers are true that would put the sketch print run around 1750 - 2000 copies.

What I heard, don't hold me to it.

  2. Here's another NON Walking Dead Comic that's Selling for good Money on eBay!!

Batman "The New 52!" #4 1st Prints are Selling for around $9 to $20 + Shipping on eBay!!

Bizarre... had no idea that issue sold out. Some of the LCSs here might still have a few... hm

Print run was wrecked on that book - a lot of retailers returned as damaged.

  3. Yes, but certain print runs are tough. Those Morrison New X-Men books in general are tough because the cover stock they used during the period plus the black border front cover spine shows off defects quickly.

Too true re: black border and dings.

Also, since the cover stock was cheap don't forget about the lower left corner...just trying to save you guys submitting multiple books repeatedly.

And the rippling pattern on the back spine some of the issue numbers tend to have,

  4. damn the secrets out on New X-men 128. I was hoping the rookies would still be talking about WD. Well there's still other books left, that's not Image ;) Research is key. Wha character in the top 50 has an introduction issue with a low print run?

My fault. I just got tired of reading about WD. I would say that the high print run would affect the value, but after NM 98 we know that wont matter. I wont do it again I swear lol.

Yes, but...doesn't the relatively high print run of New X-Men 128 at 106k only serve to further underscore the relatively LOW print runs of Walking Dead...especially in light of the increasing popularity of the TV series...?!?

BWAHAHAHAHA! It all comes back around. :acclaim:

  5. CGC is giving Fatale 1 9.8 with those corner ticks. A few examples on ebay ended auctions. About the same severity as the Saga.

that's because bindery tears are production related and CGC has been mostly consistent that they do not negatively effect the grade

I recently got my first 9.6 in a long time due to a minor bindery tear on a Lady Death during on-site grading. When I got the slab back the tear was folded back over in the holder... Not the way I subbed it (and I let them know). They all had bindery issues so I went with the smallest one and still got hammered.

Bindery tears will affect the grade, you see it on the grade drops the Cap 600, ASM 600, & Thor 600s took due to thickness of the book and the size of the tear. Be careful.

  6. All the copies in my shop had them too. Probably due to the normal cover stock on an oversized comic.

CGC may forgive it when submitted if it's on all copies. If not, 9.8's may be rare.

Slight bindery tear to severe bindery tear. Just make sure you pick ones that aren't too harsh. The copies I subbed today have very minor ticks at the bottom and clean spines. Had to dig for them though.

  7. Just my two cents and some food for though Dre (and credit to Transplant as it was his post I am quoting/stealing)...when you do business with an individual on the probation list and accept their payment it prevents such funds from being used to resolve problems/debts with other boardies in the community. Also, if he is flaunting this, it weakens the effectiveness of the system designed to look out for each other that has been put in place by community agreement.

    +1

Will I be doing business with him again? Probably not, especially after the post I was made aware of - But there has to be an easier way of people figuring out what the exactly is going on than sifting through pages of back and forth. If these discussions threads were cleaner it would make it easier track the issue.

I think the post I was PMd was actually in the resto forum.

Mistakes are easy to make...this incident (and Draken's awful response) just reminded me, that if I ever finish setting up my sales thread, that I need to add a sentence about no probationers. I don't think I've every posted that before, but the list gets longer and I don't have it memorized, I'm sure few of us do...and I don't want to sell to someone on the list, so I figure adding it to my thread, will help me remember, and alert others if I miss something.

Perhaps that's something you might want to do as well...especially with such a hectic schedule. Then perhaps the "probably not" will turn into a "definitely not while he's on the list".

Yeah, I never even think about adding "PL need not bid" since I've never had to deal with it before, other than the one time a shill bought a book from me and tried to pretend he never received the book and opened a case with PayPal. Can't even remember who it was at this point.

The boorish behavior on Daken's part just proves he needs to be added to the HOS.

On another note, I think everyone would be surprised on how many transactions with boardies I have outstanding, but I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

I guess let this be a warning to all those who owe me money lol ... And BTW has anyone heard from Mushie lately? It seems he owes me money for books shipped & still here. I've asked him several times to verify that payment had been sent on his end but he hasn't responded to the last PM.
