Just my two cents and some food for though Dre (and credit to Transplant as it was his post I am quoting/stealing)...when you do business with an individual on the probation list and accept their payment it prevents such funds from being used to resolve problems/debts with other boardies in the community. Also, if he is flaunting this, it weakens the effectiveness of the system designed to look out for each other that has been put in place by community agreement.
+1
Will I be doing business with him again? Probably not, especially after the post I was made aware of - But there has to be an easier way of people figuring out what the exactly is going on than sifting through pages of back and forth. If these discussions threads were cleaner it would make it easier track the issue.
I think the post I was PMd was actually in the resto forum.
What do you mean, Dre? There's a separate thread specifically for the Probation List which contains just the list itself. It makes it very easy to see which people you should avoid dealing with ...
The initial PM link a few weeks ago I think sent me to some discussion page that was over something else, since I'm not used to dealing with knuckleheads on the probation list I couldn't figure out what was going on. I practically work 14 -16 hours a day, seven days a week so it fell to the side very quickly. When I realized what was going on again after some time had passed and he bought some books from my thread I actually felt kind of bad that I didn't stop him right away so I went ahead with the sale but made sure to sig confirm it and only send it to address listed in the PayPal transaction (he asked me to send it somewhere ese). At that point in a sick kind of way I was actually testing the situation, seeing if there were going to be some more shenagins - I actually laughed about it with my lady - "What's this guy up to now".
It's 10 AM PST - this has been my day so far since 7 AM PST -
On the phone resolving two seperate banking issues, look at emailed artwork on an upcoming project that needs to be approved and finished & had a phone conversation, walk my dogs in the rain, take my lady to her Ad Agency since she doesn't know how to buy an umbrella, read and post here throughout, now I have to drive 45 mins north to Malibu to check on some construction, then drive back into Venice to walk the dogs, then probably drive 2 hours south to La Jolla to check on another jobsite.
And how did I get roped into calling the wedding venue as well sometime this morning?
Looking back was it a mistake honoring in the sales thread. Yes, but it was also my mistake not telling him he couldn't have the books earlier.
It happened.

It's just been brought to my attention via PM that Daken is bragging about completing a transaction with me here.
I've dealt with Daken in the past (Bought & sold) that's why I allowed him to purchase from him me. I made sure to cover myself with sig confirmations and everything just in case. Now, I don't think he should be using me as an excuse to flip everyone off here. It was a simple transaction for a couple of books.
Looking back I tried to find the problem in pages of discussion but couldn't figure out the issue.
In the PM sent to me it was indicated - "Him bragging about you selling to him makes you look even more awesomer btw", which I don't think is the case. And if someone had an issue with me I'm sure it would have been brought up already.
I've been trading in this community for years with no issues and a lot of you have met and dealt with me directly and are now my personal friends. I understand having someone not complete a transaction is a PITA and I currently have board members that I'm working with privately to resolve their outstanding payments - I feel your pain.
I'm rambling cause it's early and now I have to try to get my dogs to go potty in the rain.

I just got jerked around by this guy on some of my X-Men books on ebay - thanks for the heads up on his accounts. Just blocked them all.
Sorry to hear that Dre. I saw positive feedback from you on his main account so I assumed it went smoothly.
Yeah, that was for some stuff he picked up in October. The same Uncanny X-Force slabs he keeps trying to resell at the moment.

I wish I could say I pulled it on my own but I found it at a dealer in Austin. The funny thing is I passed on the book when I looked at it at the Long Beach Comic Con. I thought it would be Qualified, + I didn't want to pay that much $$$$$$ for it.
The fact that it would be SS & only the first ten were signed "With Great Power..." was pointed out to me at Austin and I will always be in that person's debt.

Just Graded!!!
001 Ultimate Spider-Man 1 11/11 Marvel Comics Signed Edition Signature 9.8 WHITE SIGNED & ""WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY!"" BY STAN LEE ON 8/18/11 (CGC NUMBERED ""9/100"")
Poly-bag removed.
Ultimate Spider-Man 1 Signed Edition CGC 9.8 SS Signed by Stan Lee with the added "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!" First new Black/African American (for you PC folk) Spider-Man!
The book is numbered #9 of 100.
This is the SIGNED EDITION! Only 100 produced and signed by Stan Lee in his offices in the presence of Joe Pierson of CGC. These 100 copies were then put back into circulation with the regular print run and polybagged. They have slightly different front cover (Says Variant + is lighter), and if I recall a completely different back cover (COA actually printed on back). Another regular cover was actually wrapped around the book before it was polybagged so someone couldn't see that it was the signed edition. I forgot to take a pic before I subbed to CGC at WW Austin where I found the book.
Only the first 10 of 100 were signed "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility". For more information on the rarity of this book check this CGC News Article:
http://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=2355&Ultimate-Comics-Spider-Man-#1
At this time I'm aware of only 4 of the 10 being found. I've been told 2 others were recently graded 9.6 by CGC, and a raw VF+ copy sold on eBay for $1400 last month.
I'm asking $5000 shipped, and the book is currently on hold until I hear back from my two Ultimate Spider-Man 9.8 pre-screen subscribers (they have dibs).
Serious inquiries only. If the book doesn't sell I will just hold onto it.
SOLD!!!

Where'd you come up with the time to make that list Jeff? Yeesh
Looks like there are a bunch of TPBs in there. I hate TPBs in the registry.

Thanks for the report Mike.
I put everything in Gerber MyLite 2, but I use both Half-Backs and Bill Cole Thin-X-Tenders for backing boards. Glad to see they both passed with flying colors.

I love baiting you guys. Once grades are final I'll let everyone know what I've got.

Is WD 34 second print a tough book to find in grade? And are 9.9s common or hard for the Walking Dead run?
I just got my first batch of WDs graded...

Toughest books for me in my X-Men collection so far:
X-Men 297 Pressman Gold:
X-Men 268 Second Print (JC Penney)

I've been a part of Dre's subscription service for, what, a couple of years now. Can't say enough good things about him. He may be the best around at pre-screening 9.8 candidates and really makes an effort to come up with the books I am looking for...except Thunderbolts. I think he personally sits on all the Thunderbolts before submitting them. But he made up for that by buying my daughters and I lunch in Chicago.
Send me that 9.9 Thunderbolts back then
-
Since everyone else is doing it...
Please post KUDOs here for the following types of transactions:
9.8 CGC Pre-screen submission service sales
Raw book sales
Slab sales

My current listings, almost 200 CGC 9.8 for sale.

Bat-Man had a Tec 37 in his sig earlier this week...
He had it 30 minutes ago, now it's gone. I know that book, before people go jumping to conclusions on who the seller was....that book traded hands between board members.
He said the seller was a board member.

I think it needs to be made clear as I indicated before that a mistake happened. I will pay better attention to the probation list in the future. I do a lot of volume here and on eBay, as well as deal with my regular business so it happened. It was never my intention to upset the community.
Now, for those people trying to tough guy PM me, and you know who you are, you more than welcome to voice your unfounded concerns here in public.
