What a collection. Thank you for taking this time to share all this with us. I know many people have fallen off of Spawn in general and some of the writing is not there like it used to be, but I will say one thing is the book has been consistent and at $2.99 a month you can't beat that. While McFarlane is the ultimate hype man for his books and toy figure lines, he does come off as a genuine person, and that is one thing that I praise the guy about. There are so many clowns in this industry, yet he still is awesome with the fans and the media. His signature is expensive, but I can understand for the personality that he has become. The only thing I hate is that there are even more Spawn Universe books out this year, which I hope it doesn't become overkill. I am still buying Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched. I did drop off of King Spawn, the book just wasn't doing it for me anymore.

I remember when things slowed down right around Megacon as I had a submission I sent right before then. Hoping that they have gotten caught up from Megacon, which it seems like for the most part, they might have.

It appears they are opening packages within a day from most posts.

I love this Hobgoblin cover. I had the trade and sold it off after the virgin I had came back in a 9.8. I know what you mean with some books looking much nicer with the text. It was a shame that Marvel whored out Gleason with so many web head variants, it got to a point where it became overkill. Glad that they stopped though for now.

WOW! Gunslinger looks so lifelike on that cover. I can only imagine what this is going for now, but such a beautiful piece of art.

One thing that I have noticed is that my package of 16 books went into SFG, the Friday before the drop in prices for grading was announced. Did anyone else notice the same thing and then our books have been sitting in SFG for 1.5 weeks.

This is the 1:100. I have several of these and they are a very nice cover. I did load up on all of the covers for this book. I have a feeling that Marvel will go in strong with Kid Venom due to the Manga connection and it gives them an entry for that market.

I loved the artwork from the IDW days, and EJ Su would be awesome to see him return.

I'll reserve judgment once issue #7 comes out. The artwork in this first batch of issues has not been too bad, but I did really like the IDW artwork. It really felt like it brought the Transformers to life, so hoping we can get close to that.

You have done an awesome job just recapping each issue for sure and especially those hard ones that took you patience to get in 9.8's. This has truly been quite the adventure and its been fun. Sucks when it comes to an end, you will have to find something else to keep this thread going. I am getting there myself on having a pretty almost complete run of Spawn. While some of the books in my collection are not 9.8, I do have a good amount of the keys slabbed in a 9.8. Like you, the past 2 years, there are times where certain books caused me a headache in fear on what grades they would come back. The one book that has eluded me and driven me nuts is 201, every copy I've had has had some kind of an issue but the one that got me a 9.6 was borderline 9.6/9.8. Just stinks so I am still on the search for that one. The past few weeks I have started venturing into also collecting the Spawn Origins Deluxe Hardcovers as I'd like those as part of my collection. If I ever part with the non-key issues in this entire run and keep the keys, I'd love to at least have the hardcovers to go back to and read.

Based on your TAT, I'm about 2 weeks behind, let's see if this holds true when mine get to GEI.

It appears that book #350 won't have a super crazy amount of variants, which is a good thing.

That one is the Ultimate Comics exclusive, it looks pretty nice.

Lets hope that this scammer is someone from here in the United States, and not someone overseas, because it will probably take quite sometime to find who the actual person is. I know there has been several names tossed around from what I have seen in this thread, but it could be 1 person vs. a ring of people. Ugh. This really does suck. If they did this to CGC, they could have done it to the other company too if they have gotten this good at it.

That is a great idea Sky. I know many on the forums do not like comicbookinvestments, but he has some really good ideas on circumventing some of this. @CGC Mike not sure if your product team has thought of some of the ideas (placing the certification in the inner well too) for the inner wells like what he is describing here, but that could help with circumventing some of this in the future.

They need to clone Rachel and CGC Mike as their support. Two of the nicest people that they have on staff.

The quality control has completely gone out the window of late. I have one book that has gone in now twice for a mechanical error and another book that someone messed up over at CGC. I won't go into details right now, but I am leaving it to Mike and the management team to hopefully do the right thing. I know we are all human and things happen, but seeing some of the same stuff over and over again is not good. The only good thing is that the customer support girl Rachel was very nice about the situation, so we shall see where things go.

I think a lot is stuck in Encapsulation as my magazine sub has been stuck there since last week.

I read this last night and at first was a bit confused. I re-read the book and then after some other conversations on a comic book forum I visit it all clicked. Not sure what DC is doing, but it seems like we are spinning our wheels with this multiverse stuff. Sure it is cool we are getting a Failsafe-Zur. We did have The Batman Who Laughs just a few years ago, so having another "Evil" Batman I'm not sure if that works for me. I will continue reading to see where things go.

I still have a modern Magazine sitting in GEI since 10/30/23.

I have not read it yet, but all of the reviews that I have read were glowing. I plan to read it today.
