  1. Here's a PL splash page from PL16 that I cleaned up in a little in Photoshop. I really like the "red riding hood" parallel with this story. Really great read!
  2. Andy does it again! Nice pickup, I was considering bidding on this one They had it at a BIN of over 1k prior to this.
  3. Very cool. Much grittier CM Jr. than usual What comics are you now looking for with your last few Scrooge?
  4. kudos to nochips for the super cool postcards and fast delivery. Thank you!
  5. I have no idea what the source is of the photo stories. There are a few so this was a whole comic at one point. I don't think it was done by St. John. They were probably remnants of a company they bought out.
  6. Here's another rarely seen Western Giant with Baker art. It also has a really interesting "photo" comic.
  7. I'm not sure if they have been reprinted at a later date. It is digest size so the amount of panels per page is smaller.
  8. Thanks to Scrooge for providing the last comic for my Wartime Romance run
  9. You very rarely ever see this Baker western digest. It just has a Baker cover. I got it on ebay for $15.
  10. Nice covers Scrooge. I think his Western covers are overlooked, which is good for us then we get them cheaper
  11. Nice Lassie's, these books go for really good prices and are good for kids...plus a few issues have Baker art
  12. Gracias. It's difficult to say which one was hardest to get, because all three don't show up often. But let me tell you, I learned a lot from buying these. Such as: -- #1: If something is listed as "Buy-It-Now or Best Offer," and you really, really want it, don't mess around with a Best Offer that's only 10% less than the BIN price. Just buy the dang thing, before some other guy comes along and wins it with Best Offer of 5% under BIN. -- #2: If you're searching for a comic for a whole year, and it finally turns up, that's great, you should buy it. But don't be surprised if a week later, another copy turns up -- a better copy that you feel the need to buy, just out of spite at the situation. -- #3: Inexplicably, sometimes you will end up paying more for a lower-grade copy with chips off the corners than somebody else pays, the following week, for a mid-grade copy that looks fantastic. #*%^)#^() -- #4: In your haste to go after a comic that you really want, and that you need to fill out a run, sometimes you will miss something really obvious -- like a freakin' torn spot in the middle of the cover. Then when you go back to look at the listing, you'll realize it was clear as day in the photo, even though you don't remember seeing it at all. Ahh, the realities of comic collecting. I've had all of the above. But, if it is something that I really want I do just hit the BIN. Nice group shot. I'd also have to agree that you don't see these pop up too often.
  13. Isn't there a Johnny Depp movie coming out on the Lone Ranger? Maybe this might be helping boost prices?
  14. Nope. Yup! How is it I have 10 copies in my shopping cart, then? No idea, contact them and ask? I guess based on that knowledge I would tell everyone to order them up and see what happens. Maybe some will sneak through? Just to clear this up for everyone, here is a screenshot of a reply email I received today: Got it? If you want Ye Old Lore of Yore, buy it from Comixpress for $3. http://www.comixpress.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=223 You WILL receive your copy. Don't fret that you have to be lucky that yours will "sneak through." So, I take it then that there are no "2nd editions, 3rd editions etc". Interesting, it makes the copies on ebay seem totally out of line.
  15. I think this is the end point too and will end all the drama. Batman should sell the book back to Matt and everyone is happy. Doesn't Batman already have a couple of copies already?
  16. Congrats on your TR11 I hope I find a decent copy one day I think whoever paid that $75 for that coverless copy must have been confused. It's totally wild seeing as another coverless copy was for sale a few weeks before for under $20 I believe.
  17. OK, fair enough...he's not obliged to do anything. I suppose it would be nice to think that he'd feel it the right thing to do, though. Lot's of action in this thread tonight. I hope MT that you find a replacement. I can see this comic really meant a lot to you. Hey Nick do you ever sleep? The pubs are closed
  18. Looks like my old copy! Crippen? GREAT cover! Congrats! Thanks! It is the Crippen copy Cool book, I don't think I've seen this one before.
  19. Sweet! Great run! Congrats, I hope you score your last two this year
  20. Kudos to Point Five for the awesome Cinderella Love. Thanks!!
  21. Not me, but that is a key book so I don't doubt the price. I paid an arm and leg for my copy.
  22. Kudos to Dzminn for the cute Smurf comics and the extras Thank you!
