Some people even vote for their own artwork. Which I will talk to Bill about fixing.

So you're saying some Buscema die-hard trades half his collection for a great Silver Surfer #4 page and has to vote 5 lesser things in ahead of it in that category?

    doh!

(Disclaimer: I voted for both of my submissions... because I love them)

And you have a Jim Lee Hush page which is not lettered on the artwork. That would be like Kirby/Sinnott twice up Fantastic Four, very expensive and out of the reach of many collectors. You trade one expensive page done in the 60s to another one done in the 21st century, would still be the same situation.

It's not about the price. It's not necessarily about the lettering. It's about the drastic difference in eras.

This has been brought up alot but I do not see the reason for it.

The biggest reason would be to split a category with 400 entries into 2 categories.

The secondary reason would so that a Kirby/Sinnott twice up Fantastic Four page is not in the same category as a non-lettered, pencil page which was drawn in 2021. At least make an attempt to compare apples to apples.

I'm struggling to even want to bid on it. Visually, it's almost ruined. I say almost, because he could have gone one step further and signed on her face.

Stan Lee autographs are legendary for their level of derision, this is the first one I can recall seeing on an original (at least in my area of collecting). Please show me I'm wrong in chastising a Stan signature on an original - serve me up some Stan sigs on originals that don't disrupt the eye flow of the piece.

Hey, at least it's a character he created, and in her vintage costume..... they had him sign covers with Psylocke and Spider-Gwen, etc.

Good question.    For my part I would have a lot of interest (though not at these prices..) in a wolverine LS page and much less interest in most daredevil pages.    that's just one person's opinion of course but it seems to me that wolverine has only become more important over time and daredevil is still daredevil (a 'B' marvel character - which is not a bad thing, heck its better than almost everything - except A characters like wolverine.).

Wolverine is of course the more popular character, however when it comes to Miller fans/collectors (the ones doing the buying), DD was always right up there or even a bit ahead IIRC.

Would a great DD vs. Hand Ninjas action page sell for that amount? (150k)
If not, what about a great DD vs. the Punisher?
    DD vs. Bullseye?

The Frank Miller Wolverine page :whatthe:

That was a great Wolverine page.

Soooo..... Where does Wolverine stand in relation to Miller Daredevil? More expensive than regular DD pages but less expensive than DD pages with Elektra? (For as long as I've been collecting, it seems that really good DD pages, even without Elektra, have been more expensive than Wolverine pages.)

I see no record for a public sale of DD 189 in 2010.  I think you meant to say DD 188. which sold for over $101K in 2010.  I think that was a record for a public sale of Miller cover at the time (the DKR #3 splash sold for $448 in 2011).

Just so there's no confusion/memory lapses, here's the DD 188 cover that sold for $101K+

Original Comic Art:Covers, Frank Miller Daredevil #188 Black Widow Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1982)....

Yep, my bad. Had the # off.

  9. Regarding Milgrom, I will say that there's quite a bit of nostalgia for PPSM from around that time.

The romance with Black Cat was a storyline that tied stories together for a couple years, and that stretch included a great Doc Ock saga, some Punisher issues, some Cloak & Dagger stuff (they were "hot" back then)

Still, Milgrom was the artist everyone at my LCS used to take jabs at back when I was a teen, which is why that page blew me away.

  10. A couple of 'wow' auction results to me....

$16k for small art Kirby/Coletta Thor. Cool 4-panel action page, but not really a complete shot of Thor/Thor's face.

$21k for Milgrom 9-panel interior.  Yes, it's Black Costume Spidey kissing upside-down, but man, 21k for Milgrom interiors. I'm shocked.

$45k Buscema Galactus (1988) splash. Not from the original Surfer run...Is this a lot? It seems like a lot.

$6.8K for the McHulk page isn't really a good result considering its from Hulk 340

Disagree. There have been plenty of pages from that issue with no Wolverine which sold for standard McHulk pricing.
