  1. Look at Steve playing peace-keeper. Or trying to keep this from becoming an episode of Jerry Springer...
  2. Waiting to get this from Chris (ffcomics). The books have finally come in from the Goon Nashville party! Now if I could only get the rest of my grades from Chris!
  3. Thanks for the oh-so-kind words, Gav! And thanks for the pleasant transaction!
  4. ...and knowing is half the battle!
  5. Definitely a cameo appearance. Hell, if you consider Dime Press 4 the first cameo appearance of Hellboy, you HAVE to accept this as the 1st cameo appearance of Goon. At least this is an image of the Goon in his fully developed "look" as opposed to the Hellboy illustration on DP4. Regardless, I don't like how CGC has decided to handle the labeling notes on Avatar Illustrated '98 at all. Can we at least agree it's the first full appearances of Lazlo and the Zombie Priest?
  6. hmmm...Overstreet says Schultz cover only...I am not sending it back! Also, I just looked at the 8.5 scan and it says Schults cover. I am still not sending it back. Oh, I hear ya. Re-holdering is a nice little waiting game that ain't fun to play. Hence why my Animal Man #5 will permanently say "1981" on the label instead of "1989." (thumbs u
  7. It's also mislabeled! "Dale Hale story, cover, and art" Shouldn't Schulz be credited with the cover?
  8. Wow! I would love to own that. What a sweet, sweet book! Congrats!
  9. What's thedude think of you co-opting his namesake? We're in the middle of litigation.
  10. Buy more from Lebowski. (This message brought to you by the committee to make Lebowski less broke.)
  11. I only ship in priority boxes for safety reasons. I usually lose on every sale I do (on shipping), but i would rather the books be safe. Too many books get jacked up in envelopes. Gospel.
  12. Thanks for telling us about it. Do your own homework. Then you can do your own driving to Nashville to pick up a Goon 32 variant next time.
  13. I wanted to post this in the "Thinking about" thread, but felt I wouldn't want to start a bickering match in Arch's thread. Here's what's eating me: the complaining that "I'll never buy a modern here again because of the sub-forums." That's fine with me, I must say, as most of the people proclaiming this don't buy moderns anyway for the most part. It's like me saying, "I'll never buy another GA book again!" My current GA book count: 0 And I will say this, it must be tough to rustle up all these soapboxes that everyone's standing on. You don't want to buy moderns because you have to click a separate link? Fine. Standing with a megaphone and decrying all future modern sales? Pointless. Using your complaints about the new sub-forums as a way to once again look down your nose at moderns and further push your own agenda? Completely unnecessary and needlessly antagonistic. The funniest thing? Certain proclaimers of this epithet are sellers of moderns! What the krap? And certain members need to stay out of the modern scene anyway.
  14. No books for Mr. Biggins til he sells me more Goon books.
  15. Does it have something to do with the nature of the book? Since it's not a standard story issue of a book?
  16. Yeah, that was the copy signed at the Nashville party, isn't it? It'll be the first SS copy of the book, I believe.
  17. Just poking fun at the situation in the marketplace.
  18. Bunch of nonsense going on around here about some flim-flam modern rubbish, I hear.
  19. This book has been flying under the radar for quite a while. I myself was oblivious to the importance of this book until a few months ago. But the publication date of this book precedes that of Goon #1, simple as that. There is no way to ignore this book or what kind of shakeup there will be once CGC officially gives this book the recognition of the cameo appearance.
