  1. Yes I think so too, But it would be good to have some precision such as stating brittleness on the spine such as your book where its localised (assuming CGC agrees with the assessment). Its also informative for any prospective buyer. I have seen some books where they have stated things like 'heavy damage to first 2 wraps'. Anyway, i think the aversion to brittle pages has cooled down a lot especially for mega keys such as yours.
  2. What a beauty ! Complete with a CF and a backcover. Feel CGC was harsh on the PQ. The pages don't look brittle at all.
  3. If u have moderns think just go to mcs or comiclink. If its GA/SA, then go to Heritage. The profile of the buyers there are older farts with bigger wallets. I'm one of the older farts sans the big wallet. There is simply no contest between what Heritage puts out in their signature auctions vs the rest. Costs more buts it's worth it. And you have high value books, you can negotiate with them on the fees.
  4. I got this....means I'm getting my butt butt butt handed to me. Glad Mike is having some fun with the emojis.
  5. Think the book would look way cooler without the repro cover. That's a damn awesome page 1.
  6. I think in this instance, this is the best outcome one is going to get. It's an impasse. Unless the 'worked out' = the owner acknowledging his isn't an original. Doesn't seem likely for now. Being on the right side of an issue doesn't mean mob mentality can't rear its ugly head. For what's its worth, think both Malvin and the other guy are decent persons and I can empathise with both of them. I truly believe given some time the other guy will realise his piece isn't the original. But he need to come to this realisation on his own. The more he is pressured, the more he is going to knuckle down. And the more pissed we get the more we pressure him. And the cycle goes on. I am not singling out any individual here but collectively.
  7. Well Damien was born from a jackal in the original movie. Let's see whether they stick to that. I'm a big fan of the first movie and the book. The rest were ridiculous.
  8. If you're talking about simply drawing, I would think Ross' art is definitely more pleasing to the eye but for world building, nobody trumps Kirby. He was the king of invention. I honestly don't think anyone even coming close. I don't know enough but if we wanted to pick a few names it would have to come from Kirby's era, maybe Eisner ? For more modern day ones, Perez ? But there is simply no comparison.
  9. Oh my I totally missed that. Now I can't unsee it. Still an above average Bolland Dredd page.
  10. Ain't my thing but that's no $300 con sketch. It's the variant cover for x-men 1 which runs for a few hundred bucks. I wouldn't pay for that either but there were 79 bids for it. Go figure
  11. Guess the dune miniseries was probably the most faithful to the books but it was a miniseries and more time could be given to flesh out the different narratives. I am def not one who demands accuracy so much as faithfulness to film adaptations. Its an adaptation afterall and I think this movie stayed true to that. Having said that I still remember being so disappointed seeing gandalf's staff being broken by the witchking.
  12. Is this now gonna cross 500k? Gonna be great to see heavy hitters bidding on this ICONIC piece of history.
  13. If you are looking for raws with strict grading then j would recommend MyComicShop. In Heritage's defence, you are buying lots so you should expect the grading to be some way off, not taking into your account your own grading standards. You should take part in the grading contests here. I thought I was a below average grader. Now i know i'm just below average.
  14. The collections are so impressive. I went to dig some slabs from my own collection. They are nothing compared to what has been shared but I always thought mine were worth at most 50-100 bucks a slab. Nice to know they could be worth slightly more
  15. 30k for 1 book..all day, everyday. Gets me a book I rly want and can't afford.
