  1. A classic example of two bidders really wanting it. We're the winner to flip it, the price would probably come in at half that. e***e( 1309) US $979.69 Mar-14-17 19:00:17 PDT Member Id: e***t( 1041) US $969.69 Mar-14-17 19:00:20 PDT Member Id: e***e( 1309) US $956.00 Mar-14-17 18:59:33 PDT Member Id: b***-( 2 ) US $676.70 Mar-14-17 19:00:17 PDT Member Id: e***e( 1309) US $536.00 Mar-14-17 18:38:20 PDT Member Id: e***e( 1309) US $526.00 Mar-14-17 17:39:30 PDT
  2. Since many here may not be following Todd on his Facebook I figured I'd post this pic and his announcement here. Todd's gonna be showing ALL the pages from Spawn #1 sometime next week, per his post below. THE ORIGINAL Spawn NUMBER ONE PAGES! YES, YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID! That's right folks...THESE are the ORIGINAL pages I did 25 years ago and the last time they've been SEEN was back in the 90's. I'll be doing a live Facebook video in the next week or so to give you a VERY close look at the artwork for Spawn issue number one. Looking back at the pages, I forgot how labor intense they were to make!! Kinda COOL to look back and see where it all started. Be good. TODD
  3. When I started in my late teens circa 2001 flipping was the way I built my collection. Hell, it was the only way I could have ever afforded this hobby in those early years. And that was with yesterday's prices! (A Spencer sale was a serious gold mine back then!) Now, not so much. But there's been a few times Ive seen an auction ending with a silly low price or BIN and said, "ah why not."
  4. A lot of vetern collectors, myself included, have seen this type of patern before from sellers who dont like the price they get on eBay. Piece ends too low and an excuse comes up as to why it cant be sold. Some buyer believe it some dont. Some leave feedback. Some dont. Im not saying that youre doing that. I can see from your feedback youve also followed through on an auction that ended at 7 bucks. But from our vantage point in this thread, there still is enough evidence to the contray which is why people are calling you out. Also many of us have been collecting for years and have never misplaced a piece of art, let alone done that on more than one occasion. Its all just red flags. As someone new with only 20 something feedback, take this as a lesson for you in the optics of how you conduct yourself online. This hobby is small. People take notice of your every move. All it takes is a couple mistakes, like continually misplacing the art you contractually sold on eBay, to dampen your reputation. Just my 2 cents on the matter. Mike
  5. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1369621 I finally got a David Finch New Avengers piece!
  6. err, I saw this listed on ebay the same time you were posting, and it sold, I thought it was you. ebay link what's going on? Malvin Judging by the sellers feedback, I think he might be playing that game where you sell something on eBay before you actually buy it.
  7. Bane page is still available. It's currently not on Ebay. (Im thinking my post was confusing in that regard...) Shipping to UK would be a bit more pricey though. Sending you a PM. Thanks! Mike
  8. Cover to Adventures of Superman 500 by Tom Grumett and Doug Hazelwood! http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=178769

  11. Ive got a whole DOOM gallery in my CAF! Triumph and Torment as well as Waids Unthinkable are two of the best Dr. Doom stories I've ever read. http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=82453
  12. I was really tempted to get the Allred cover from Simon. I loved it. BUT, I kept thinking, if the book reads like DKR2 did, the whole piece would then be spoiled for me. 3k+ is too much to gamble on the current Miller's writing style.
  13. The only cover Ive ever truly been interested in, and would pay absolutely stupid money for, is the Until the End of the World TPB cover. Sadly it would take a down payment on a house to pry it from Simon's hands.
  14. Hi Tessa...Good boy....You "blue blood" collectors have given me a hard time but I guess you realise that your pathetic efforts to sop me have failed... Tried confrountiing me but I'm still here...don't degrade yourself any more Regarding Rich Buckler he was likable but difficult but his comments have hurt me so I will not pay him any money he claims he is owed and be sure I will be squeezing the value out of the work I got...Same with the cripple Maybe I'm not totally innocent here(ha!) but you still can pin any bodies on me....You are mostly insufficiently_thoughtful_persons and buttlickers wjo have failed History will show I am the winner of Terry-gate. I would just like to add to all of you who have contacted me "personally" over the last few days offering me there support I appreciate all of you following my request NOT to enter into this forum actively thank you all. ..regards, Richard What a piece of work. Spoken like a true confidence artist. It'll all catch up to you in time Richard. Bodies start piling up after a while.
  15. Kevin Sharpe really hit a home run for me on the commission front. For the price of what most artists are charging for a decent con sketch, Kev did this awesome cover quality pinup of Skeletor for me! http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1103741
  16. Death of Superman art day!!! I unearthed this rare gem from 1992 recently. So glad to have added it to the collection! www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1090324
  17. I dont usually buy art that is heavy on T or A as most of the time I find it tacky, but this one gets a pass! Simone Bianchi at his finest! http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1085562
  18. http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryPiece.asp?Piece=1030531&GSub=0&GCat=217&UCat=217 I found this Tom Grummett Robin poster artwork sitting a broken frame at tiny convention here in my hometown.
  19. I agree with this statement as well as do about 99% of collectors out there. It's another reason I havent had my pieces touched up.
  20. I don't think this is that bad - is the issue the brownish fading? Is there any kind of fix? Ive often wondered that myself. I have some art where the border was outlined in marker and everything was inked in india ink. The border is brown where the art on the inside has maintained its pristine black look. I still love the art. BUT - the contrast is a major eye sore IMO - Id be lying if I hadn't thought about getting the original inker (in this case scott hannah) to reink the borders in india ink over top of the sharpie...But then I have no idea how that'll even look... Still it's something I think about from time to time. As for Philip question. Dude, if you dont care, and you're not planning on selling, then it truly doesn't matter whether it'll fade or not. The most imporant rule in this hobby is buy what you like. So with that in mind, all the power to ya!
  21. Im afraid not. The chemicals in a sharpie will degrade over time no matter what. It's not archival. (And even then, some archival pens wont last 20+ years.) Keeping it away from sun light etc will obviously slow this process. But no matter what you're gonna get some degree of fading when marker is used. Please dont get me wrong though, not like the image is going to disappear or anything. If that was the case I wouldnt even bother with my sketch book at cons.... But it certainly will dull and when compared to something inked with india ink which will look just as black 30 years from now as it does today.
