  1. bought the second issue and I'm not sure I'm feeling it. (shrug)

    Why?

It might have had something to do with the page.... In the barn..... Wearing the wings (I had to do a triple take to digest what I was seeing).

Damn you. I blocked that from memory until now lol

  2. No worries. To each their own. Personally, I do not know what all the hypes was about with Bedlam. I am not buying anything after the copy of #1 I have and could not sell on eBay........

I bet it picks up after the next 3 issues hit so quickly. I think someone posted 3 issues in 6 weeks time.

I enjoy it a great deal and having a long box filled to the brim also keeps me hoping it does well in the future lol

  3. Y is indeed the most 'waiting to explode' book around at the moment.

    9.8's are upto $400+ for #1.

    The movie/show hype continues....

Im not sure that book would take off, even with a movie or show. If it does move up it would only be slightly. The series is over. I think if it was an active series then it could boom.

Have to disagree on this one. The print run is 14K and it's not an easy 9.8 at all. If there was a quality TV show based on the property, it wouldn't matter that the comic series has ended.

This whole discussion disappoints me as a little while back I had a shot at a #1 for fairly cheap. I wish I'd taken it...

Any links on information about a show? It'd be interesting, and it might be fun to watch a show with a bunch of women running around.

lol. I am feeling very dense right now as I hadnt thought of that. Show is a sure fire WIN just for that fact

  4. Had anyone else noticed the price tag of ASM 700 on eBay? I'd run out and clear of your stores now while you still can. Really odd- I guess its the fast flip...

Tough part it is slightly misleading because book was $7 cover price, but it is selling very well. I bet my local shop still has 100 copies between all the variants.

Every shop around me is sold out and nearly every online shop I use [about 7 of them] are sold out or limiting to 1-2 per customer. Ive been trying to find a batch for the last 24 hours and have had zero luck.

The midtown variant is exploding right now. I was able to snag a bunch right before they sold out.

  5. What is the print run on #2? It looks like copies are going as high as $7.99 on eBay now. It will be interesting to see how many people this title can attract. So far so good......

I hit it hard with issue #1 and slacked on #2.

I believe I read somewhere that #2 had a 30% lower print run but do not quote me on that.

#1 2nd print will be out next week.

  6. OK, so...who else thinks that the doctor and the circus freak deformed nurses are just a figment of his psychosis and are not, in fact, real...? His conversations with the "doctor' definitely feel sort of like a schizophrenic talking to himself.

I could see that too but...

that would mean he never had the brain surgery and he only subconsciously got "better"?

No, I think something did happen to him and that doctor might have been someone he used to know during his "evil" days. Another thing, the doctor was shocked that he contact the police and I am waiting to see how this plays out after he tried to turn himself in.

There are other players in this twisted book. I'm going to go back and read both issues again to see if its something that I missed.

Personally now that Ive read the each issue 3 times, my head is spinning with all kinds of ideas and what-ifs. I hope its as twisted as we are thinking

  7. So anymore comments on issue 2..Some sites are slamming it pretty good. (IGN). They just need to give this thing a shot and let it build on it's potential.

I agree. I reread issue 2 after reading some poor reviews. I think issue 2 will prove to be a big stepping stone as to where the book is headed

  8. Just read this book.

    My thoughts...

Someone needs to figure out how to improve the previews of some of these books. Comeback and Nowhere Men previews had me not interested. However I picked up a few Comeback NYCC and liked the book so I decided to give this a shot. Once again the book was much better then I thought it would be. In my personal opinion it is no where near the level of Think Tank currently but it is only one issue....so I will check back in a few months.

The cover price at $2.99 is nice also

  9. Yep, Think Tank is in my top 3 of this year such a great comic!

I know Ive said this a dozen times already but it just shocks me that it hasnt blown up yet. Low Print runs [#1 6,200], [#2 5,700] and is down right awesome.

Maybe I will buy a few TPBs and see if anyone on the boards wants to read them. Then just pass them around as people get done with them.

  10. I REALLY liked Nowhere Men. Lots of extra's jammed into the issue with the bios on the first couple pages and the magazine article in the back. It feels very well thought out. I liked the first issues because it jumped back and forth between time periods and didn't treat the reader like a complete insufficiently_thoughtful_person explaining everything. Gives you just enough to be interested but doesn't answer all the questions.

Also, visually it's well put together with the art / fonts / graphics. Looks like Eric is using the same people that do the lettering and logos for SAGA.

Loving all the science fiction stuff IMAGE has been pumping out lately. I haven't had a chance to check out Think Tank but if it's similar to this I'll have to check it out!

Think Tank TPB is coming out next week IIRC. Make sure you pick it up!

  11. I got one. Read it. I will check out two. It is definitely a strange comic. For now I think that Think Tank > This. It is only the first issue after all.

Thats an easy one! Think Tank > Much of what is out right now.

  12. Good post CBT!

    Here are my thoughts...

Just like if you dont like Variants, dont buy them.....if you dont like Larrys posts, dont read them or at least give them any thought. Im not telling anyone to shut up, Im simply saying dont tell anyone else to shut up.

Personally I like what he brings to the table and he has taken very good care of me as a customer. He answers every question I have, gives me fair prices, packages very well and is very polite. He has even tossed a few freebies my way which was totally unexpected. I am not sure what more a business person can do. I realize he may rub some people the wrong way, I can be very similar at times, but again....just simply ignore him then. The rest of us will enjoy what he brings.

Not trying to pick a fight but merely sharing my .02 since this is a discussion board and all.

  13. You don't like variants...? Great. Don't buy them. End of story.

    I agree 100%

I simply dont understand why people complain about variants.... See attached quote.

Personally I like variants as it makes the collecting aspect more fun for me and certainly doesnt take away from a good story. If I dont like something then I dont buy it. Seems pretty simple to me

  14. I found some modern comics heating up that I think are still slightly under the radar.

This list brought to you by The Lyria Comic Exchange! Check it out.

    FYI :

Summer of Valiant is a $20 convention book [1000 print run] so $17.50 would be a $2.50 loss [although its over $20 now looking at your link]

Just a heads up if you didnt know

  15. You guys might want to "lock" copies of:

    Amazing Spider-Man #698 shipping 11-21 NOW.

    Just Sayin...

Please, not the suddenly revealed son of Ben Reilly. :wishluck:

I've seen ASM #149 nearly double in price in the last week. You might be on to something.

Protip: No one wants to read a 1000 word message board rant, especially one without paragraphs.

To be honest, if your post had 2 more words I wouldnt have made it through it let alone that novel.
