  1. Wasn't sure where to post this and didn't really want to start a new topic but....

    Clone? Bedlam? Think Tank?

All 3 books are at about the same point in their existence... all seem to have a really loyal, albeit small, followings. I noticed some people discussing Think Tank and Clone as possibly not making it much further. I've read the same about Bedlam before.

So my question, which of the 3 do you think has the best chance at longetivity?

I personally dont see any of the 3 going away anytime soon.

  2. Not everyone is buying for resell, I've placed "Stoooopid bids" on comics that I didn't plan on selling later, but high bids were placed just to try and win the auction, then someone comes along and tries to out bid me over and over again, If the auction is sitting at $50, most people with bid $55, 57, maybe 60 to try and win the auction with 3 minutes left, Screw that! with 3 minutes left I'm thinking $200 to win it because that is the absolute most I will pay! Then someone will come in at the last 45 seconds and rebid 5 or 6 times to try and out bid me with nickels and dimes.

Exact reason you should be snipping.

Should we book a mohel for the briss?

    :golfclap:

  4. Nobody is questioning the quality of NWM, just the erratic and somewhat delayed publishing. People Speculators are fickle as has been pointed out several times. Their attention spans aren't long enough to hold fast to a series that appears to have disappeared.

    Fixed it for you

Most regular comic book buyers couldn't care less if a book is delayed for a month.

Bull-. Nothing makes me stomp my feet more than a delay

  5. Epic Kill 2nd Print as well...

    1. How did Epic Kill get a second print?

    2. Is there something different in it in regards to Revival than the first print?

Answer to Question 1: Image underestimated the demand for birdcage liners.

    Bwahahahahah! :roflmao:

  6. being a big Beatles fan, it adds to my enjoyment of the book

I like it because it's cool, good art, good story. But, I respect the nay-sayers. It's tons-o-fun to see where the dust settles :whee:

    Think Tank over erthing.

But in reality I think issue #4 was weak, so now people are reflecting back on issue #1-3 and picking out the problems.

    (worship)THINK TANK

NWM is a great series, but we live in a love/hate, black/white, on/off, in/out comic universe where things change quickly. Since NWM 3-4 came out, Jupiter's Legacy, Ten Grand, EoW, and other titles have come into the fold.

It's easy to for the focus to shift elsewhere when you are not in people's faces all the time. Saga has built a huge following, so I'm not worried about the break till August. But what about Todd? What about Bedlam?

I don't think #4 was weak, but I did want to find out what's up with the dude on the plane (teeth). Looking forward to #5

Yep. I dont think creators really really understand that taking a break [even one month] can absolutely kill momentum with so much top notch stuff out right now.

IMO they should do everything in their power to make damn sure there are no delays or breaks in the current market.

  7. It's convention season, millions of dollars are diverted from the Internet venues into cons and con exclusives. Things will generally slow down a bit until fall, then the Internet will pick back up.

    Bingo!

  8.

I love the show, but really, how many extreme serial killers exists like that at a given time (shrug)

I believe it is estimated that there is typical around 40-50 unnamed serial killers active in the US at a given time.

  9. Lots going on in issue 2, but a GREAT read.

    NO SPOILERS :)

A lot of characters introduced, an inevitable confrontation is laid out, and a big reveal at the end of the issue...

x2! Awesome issue and Im loving the art.

    This book is going places!

  10. All 185 of mine came in a few days ago along with a few Snapshot variants. Finally got around to unpacking them all [FP did an amazing job boxing them up...almost too good.]

Most of them are super fresh and Minty. Very happy :-)

  11. Twenty retailers across the globe gave premium shelf space & hand sold the new series in an aggressive attempt to build readership.

The Phantom group sticks around for a story arc helping creators stabilize print runs.

Nice spin - if the Phantom variants were truly an "aggressive" tool to attempt to build readership, they'd be priced at cover. I think you're confusing your variants with the Image First books

Larry had all the Phantoms available at cover in his shop when I was there last week.

he always sells them for cover in his store, the higher price is online sales where he sells at market price. Pretty good way to get foot traffic in the store. I would do the same thing if i was him.

If he sold them at cover online, flippers would just buy the entire run and immediately resell them on ebay

    Agree 100%

  12. Just got my confirmation as well. I have a hard time believing that the print run on FP is only 1000, regardless of what Larry is saying.

But hey, if that's true, then I am happy to own 10% of the print run. :whee:

Hmmm. That would be awesome if its only 1000 print run. Between you and me alone, we would have 28.5% of the print run

  13. Maybe I just got lucky, but the copies i had were really minty. No Saga-like bindery tears, clean edges, sharp, etc.

Me too, I only got 10 but 9 were very minty and one had some black smug on the front, but no tears.

Same here. I picked up a few hundred and only a few have bindery spiffs IIRC.

Looks to be a super easy 9.8 book. Id say 95% of my orders look great

  14. I'm really pulling for Pretty Deadly. Looks great, but not much beyond what was said at SDCC.

    (worship) YES!!!

I am excited to read the new comics in the following order:

    1. Sex Criminals

    2. East of West

    3. The Wake

    4. Sandman

    5. Pretty Deadly

    6. Trillium

    7. Lazarus

    8. Fabulous Killjoys

Not interested in Jupiter's Legacy or The Bounce.

Thanks for sharing, I didnt know about some of these. (thumbs u

  15. 54k print run!

Holy cow, is this for real?

The only person who has said that is Mashed Potatoes. I'm not sure if anybody can back that up (shrug)

I listened to the same interview and Hickman definitely said the print run is 3x anything he's ever done with Image. Not a surprise given the cover of previews and those who are speculating heavily on the title.

But does that mean 54k? He could have just said 3x without meaning actual numbers.

Either way that sounds like at least 45k.
