  1. For those concerned about price...my page from #1 was only $200.

    Very reasonable.

(crystalized gorilla attack - scientist into wall / other scientist arm ripped off / 'this is humiliating')

Nice to see someone pick that page up. I past on it and picked up the page before it. It was a toss up as to which one I was going to get.

  2. Happy to announce that I was able to get 1 of the 4 pages I initially emailed Nate about.

(1 was digital, 2 were already sold)

i wanted a cover but way out of my price range.

What was he asking for a cover?

$3500 is what I was quoted which I would have happily paid but after adding up pages I wanted...I was already pretty up there.

  3.

The bottom line is, the print run on the book was always going to be fairly high, whether it was variants or regular prints. It just wasn't one retailers were going to sleep on. So I don't know, if you were in for the quick turnaround, if we were ever the title for you. The variants are more a symptom there than anything. If they didn't exist, there would just be more copies of the first print cover, and I don't see how you'd like that any more. Does that make sense?

Boom! Hopefully that will shut some of the cry babies up about the variants. Personally I like them as it gives me something else to collect.

    Top notch reply

  4. Andy, I think it's too much of a coincidence in the use of the title Bedlam and the character, the First, as I'm sure you're aware bedlam was a popular name for 'the first' mental asylum - St. Mary's of Bethlehem in London.

With Nick Spencer being British he could be aware of this or researched it, so as you speculated before I think 'the First' was the first patient/serial killer to be treated by the doctor.. There is always a chance that he could be related to Filmore or Filmore could have been a disciple or acolyte of 'the First' before his conversion - thoughts?

Awesome post! Thanks for sharing (thumbs u

  5. Those print runs were listed someplace. I want to say that the run on #1 was like 37,000 but someone could confirm/correct that.

What I would like to know is the print run of the NYCC hardcover, if anyone has that.

    Per the image press release:

Jonathan Hickman (NYCC Spotlight Guest) — NYCC Exclusive THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS VOLUME ONE: SCIENCE, BAD hardcover (limited to 500)

Nice, Im glad I grabbed so many then. I thought it was 1500 for some reason.

  6. As for hotness - TWD #92 keeps on climbing.

    $125+ now blue 9.8

Overtaken #53 (Poor Abe) and is only going to grow - #61 surely is next to be passed, then #27 after this seasons finale.

Give it 12 months and it will be:

    #1

    #19

    #92

    #2 - #6

    #27

    and drifting for the others.

Jesus will be around for a long, long time.

Hmmm. I dont see a rise on this books going back to early November? Yes it is a $125 9.8/blue but its been that way for months now.

If anything, the recent sales are a bit lower

    Edit : Tree`d by CBT

  7. The only "victims" of "variant madness" are impatient speculators that now have their panties in a twist 'cause they haven't been able to quadruple there money in two months. This has no bearing on the quality of the story.

Amen! This book rocks and cant wait to read #3 today. That will be the tell tale for me

  8. A reprint of #1 six months later?

The Phantom program is setting up / building Revival endcap displays in 50+ retail stores worldwide to expand Revival's fanbase.

    Soooo, yeah.

    I'm reprinting them ALL.

    And you know what?

    I'll sleep just fine tonight...

Looks awesome! I cant wait to get my hands on em.

I agree, this will only help the fanbase grow. The speculators might not like it but the collectors and fans will.

  9. All of the Valiant Comics

    Saga

    Bedlam

    Batman

    Ultimate Comics Spider-man

It sure is odd that more people dont talk about Valiant over here. Easily some of the best books out there right now. Oh well....leaves more for me to hoard lol

  10. ugh

    Nick Spencer ‏@nickspencer

BUT-- I promise you, one time thing. BEDLAM 3 will be out 1/23, and 4 right behind it on 2/6. 5 end of February. So a LOT coming.

I would be stoked if they keep to that schedule. 3 more issues before March....sold!

  11. Bedlam #3 should be next week

Ah, right you are. The Image link says 1/23 (shrug) but it is listed in the 1/16 releases.

Unless this keeps happening and kills the book. :-(

If this happens, its my curse. Aria>Lady Mechanika>Bedlam doh!

Then I kindly ask you to no longer like Bedlam so that the rest of us can get the books on time :sumo:

This USA Today article vaulted Saga even higher. I wonder why Bedlam isn't getting any love. Eh, whatever..I'm along for the ride and I enjoy the story so far. As I said before, its a pleasure to buy a book and not be finished with it in 3-5 minutes.

I actually think it has. Watching it daily for the past month, sales on the bay were down to slightly under cover to just over cover. The past week sales have been $4.50-8.50 which is a small jump from before the article. This may not seem like much but its certainly a spike. When you factor in shipping, some of these guys paid $13+ for their book

Give it time guys, its going to get into the $20 range before you know it and then the $40-50 range near the end of the year

  13. so Nowhere men or think tank. I can only afford to jump in on one of these books.

Definitely Think Tank (Homeland if it was just based in the tech department) though if you want more fantasy Sci fi try Nowhere Men.

Ugh. I would hate to have to make that choice but if I had too, it would be Think Tank as well without a doubt. Think Tank IMO was one of the best books of 2012.
