  1. To make it short and sweet....

Nate as it turns out, is 100% the problem and has admitted it due to some mental health issues. He claims the book will come out eventually but it looks like that wont be for a long time as he is still in treatment.

In otherwords, ES was being good enough to take some heat on NWM while Nate was seeking treatment.

With that said, he should have just gotten a fill in artist until Nate got better and then brought Nate back in with a big splash.

Glad Nate spoke up.....hope the book really does come out again some day. I have read each issue 4-5 times now, LOVE the story

  2. #8 is a pretty good issue. I still love the art. The story kind of stalled a little though, but with it being an ongoing title, thats ok. I'd rather th. writer take his time than try and cram too much into 1 issue.

On another note, anybody got any leads on those SDCC conecting covers? Also, in the letters column they mention a variant of #8 from a different artist. So i count 2 MD books at the con. Definitely gonna have to track those down.

I actually enjoy the fact that they slowed things down. Gives us a chance to see Sacagawea interact a bit.

    "3 times now"

  3. Figment #1 !!!!

I meant to put that in the "misses" thread :kidaround:

It has been a fabulous spec if you were in from ground floor.

I said we'd see about Figment going forward. That was about a month ago.

Larry has been right so far. There has been a several week window to sell this book above cover. It may not stay this way, but, as of now, Larry's game plan to sell this book into the window of opportunity has been a winner.

Bought a Figment #2 off the stands this weekend and sold it less than 24 hours later for $16.50 - Larry nailed this one, and he's right that video game/tv/other books with non comic-book fan-bases tend to sell well for years as sets. I sold a VF set of Chuck 1-6 for $50 once, and Injustice Vol 1 is still selling well a year later. If I knew how to get my hands on sets of Figment 1-4 first printings at cover price, I'd pull the trigger! I doubt Figment will ever drop below $25 per set; They'll probably average closer to $50 for years to come.

Yep. IMO he has been 2 for 2 with the last 2 picks. Enormous has been doing pretty good as well.

I wouldn't have known about either one [before hand] if he had not said anything.

  4. Comicrohn certainly has the pulse when it comes to the figures...

For anyone interested the write ups at icv2 and comicsbeat are quite good when they come out, and some of the comments can be interesting. They often offer an easy look at what's trending.

  5. Can someone help me out real quick?

I just want to make sure I understand the reading order (seems simple enough, but I don't want to miss anything).

    Does it go

    Enormous One-Shot from 2012

then straight to the ongoing series that is printed currently?

Or am I missing some books/stories somewhere?

    Thanks!

That is it from what I have found.

Read the one shot and 1st issue.

The one shot has some basic concepts of the first ongoing but the on going has much more detail with the one shot going quickly through a bunch of situations. I have a feeling the ongoing will be exploring these situations with much more detail and explanation. The one shot is a crazy quick ride. '

Issue 1 = about 2 pages of the one shot if that explains better

  6. In the last month or so, I don't think any issues of MD are actively "sought after". LBCC is still up there but Ottley and #1 1st print prices are dropping like a stone, I guess everyone here has a 9.8 or 2 going by the census (Regular cover = 255 blue 9.8, Ottley = 107 blue 9.8)

Yeah it's crashing hard, if you have any i'd get out now.

I have an LBCC but wonder if I should cash out now while the going is good. With the scarcity of this particular book, I'm wondering if I should just hang onto this particular variant just in case?

As the guys said, they are dropping like stones. You should sell it to me super cheap. lolol

  7. The popularity is because of Robert Kirkman writing it.

    Seriously.

After they advertised that #111 was going to be written by the same person as The Walking Dead more people became interested in Invincible. People seriously thought it was a new thing.

Wait......they are doing a Walking Dead and Invincible cross-over??!

    Ermagawd :whee:

    Straight monies

  8. If I'm reading Diamond's old ship list correctly. ( of course I am )

The Enormous one shot shipped BEFORE Mondo #3 that contained the preview.

    Enormous one shot shipped 7/11/2012

    Mondo #3 shipped: 8/1/2012

Enormous one shot is the first appearance of Enormous.

yea with a bit of googling i confirmed it as well...

Generally the previews are considered first appearances.

    Not in this case though...

Thanks for doing the homework. Appreciate it! (thumbs u

  9. From my experience, the recalled Elektra "nude" issue was also extremely common (and the change was extremely minor to begin with).

What about the COA from MCS that says there are only 5k copies?

:gossip: The COI is from Lone Star Comics.

Lone Star Comics and mycomicshop are one and the same.

    Pwned!

....yep I just went there lol

Not anymore. Buddy sold all his retail stores last year.

    +1

Something is weird about that. when I purchase from MCS it shows up Lone Star on the address. If you go to the MCS website, it shows a Lone Star location and has "copyright of Lone Star" at bottom of website pages.

  11. Ha Ha - good guess Ryan, but I wasn't being quite so cynical. My Helheim cover is awesome, but I was actually referring to Debris by Rossimo. I LOVE this cover & think it transcends beyond comic art.

    <a href=88D1FDE8-8F02-498B-B173-F7391D136DD1-616

Love me some Helheim and cant wait for the next arc.

As for Debris, I actually just reread the run the other day. Good little story for those that haven't read it. Still feel it could have been turned into a bigger world and longer run/story

  12. I think #13 could be a game changer. For anybody who thought the book was too complex, this was a good old Marvel type slobberknocker ala Hulk vs the Thing :sumo:

Agree. Awesome issue no question. To be honest I was VERY slowly getting down on the book. Went from #1 for me every month to say #15 every month but with this issue....back to my top #5

  13. I picked this up in the beginning, and tried it for a few issues. For whatever reason, I just couldn't really get into it. I thought the art was ok, but the story just didn't seem to be going anywhere.

The book is packed with stuff going on from action to back story to character development. Fantastic book and lots going on at once. However, the overall story is a very slow burn so would agree with the perception that it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

  14. Can we get the Midtown update where people have to walk around stacks of unsold Outcast.

    Are you kidding ?

It appears there may be a shortage...

    :roflmao:

It's not a shortage, it's a bottleneck, just wait until the bottleneck clears. :juggle:

haha ! No doubt. I was really hoping for a 3peat to with TWD and Invincible. So far, the jury is out as I've heard from people who love and hate it. I'm hoping I fall into at least " I kind of like it " category. :wishluck:

    It is fantastic IMO.

  15. I was reading Nick Dragotta's twitter this morning which I do about every couple of weeks. I didn't see how East of West would work well on the tube prior to looking at this.

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ds_ukdV7Kw

I took a look at different scenes of this show being a Tron fan anyway and I was blown away (worship)

If they could get the animators doing this to do East of West, I take back what I said about it being comic only material. I hope Todd, Rat Queens, and Chew get this kind of treatment too. This stuff is bordering on amazing to me. :applause:

I could totally see an EoW animated now thanks to this post. Off to day dream now!

  16. I rifled through a few of those Figment...just couldn't pull the trigger.

Haha ditto that. Wasted enough money on flavors of the week that never went anywhere. *Cough cough* Watson & Holmes, Helheim, Day Men, Escape From Jesus Island (cue the angry jagoff's response in 3-2-1...)

Watson & Holmes and Day men certainly fetch a decent price. Good wins if you paid cover or less.
