  1. So I have one of the Spawn 350 one per store editions signed by McFarlane. I am waiting for the new CGC service to authenticate the signature otherwise I assumed it would lead to a green qualified label due to the unwitnessed signature in marker on cover. I just checked the census now and it has 5 books graded as qualified (as expected) but there is one blue universal grade given out. How can that be for an issue that I assumed was only released with MacFarlane’s signature on it. Were there any released without a signature? How can any of these books receive a blue label?

Got this in a collection a few years back and I am keeping it. A low value Spidey comic that came with a cassette tape of The Ramones singing the theme song from the Spider-Man cartoon I grew up with. Worthless as a flip, priceless to me.

Boy if this one book of yours is drek, what would that make my 4 connecting covers each with its own cassette? I think they are pretty special.

  3. When you submit, don’t you enter the name and issue # of each book? Doesn’t CGC use that as a starting point? They should verify that what the submitter put in matches the book. Did they purposefully change the issue number? Or did the submitter possibly get it wrong? I always check to make sure the info is put in the system correctly using the submission tracking before it even gets to grading.

  4. I’m surprised they haven’t released the homage cover to ASM #300 with Miles on the cover. Maybe it will be a super secret surprise variant retailer thank you foil version, limited to only 100,000.

Wish they could write the books as well as the movies are written.

  5. Not too sure about this.  I own all 5 series that Miles has starred in and when I add them up it only comes to just about 130 books. Are they trying to use the Bendis Ultimate Spider-Man run of 160 issues that Miles didn't even appear in to try to reach issue #300? They must also be adding some miniseries in there also like Spider-Men I and II to get to #300. I was wondering how ASM started in 1963 and took until 1988 (25 years) to reach #300, while Miles could do it in only 13 years. His first book started in 2011. Does anyone else think it’s not right to use the Miles-less Bendis run to reach this impressive number and call the book Miles Morales’ 300th issue? The article here is from Marvels site and where the writer says it’s surreal to write Miles’ 300 issue. Just feels like a bit of a stretch to me.

I thought this would be a fitting topic for my own 300th post here. 🙄

  6. So obviously this one is already graded but I’m thinking about buying it and I’m curious to see if everyone agrees with the grade given. I will add the graders notes in also to help you guys out. I’m a bit worried about the light staining on the front spine. CGC just hit my ASM 121 really hard for foxing. Do you think this is foxing or just a stain/dirt? It says it was graded in 2013 so a lot has changed with CGC since then. Maybe they grade much tougher on those small stains? Is this the type of book everyone is looking to do CPR to improve the book or is it the one that will come back with a lower grade if I try CPR?
Thanks for any input. I’ll put the given grade out in a few days after I get some responses. Sorry the pictures aren’t as clear as I’d like but they’re all I have.

  7. The announcement said it would begin with any books received on 1-24 and beyond. So this morning (1-24) my books were marked as received and scheduled for grading. This evening (1-24) I received my receipt for the grading and it doesn’t have a 10% discount for having a premium account. Looks like this one slipped through. It is the first day. Will have to call customer service to get it straightened out. Am I reading this right? Shouldn’t I get 10% off of the grading?

  8. Quick question that has probably already been asked and answered (I read the first 100 pages but couldn’t keep up with every single page here)…when you look up a book with the Cert # and it gives you all of the info about the book, could they also add in if the book has ever been reholdered and what the date was of that reholdering? I don’t know if that would help every circumstance, but if I were buying a book and saw it had been reholdered, I would be much more careful with my evaluation of the book before buying it. (If this is helpful, I will give my address so you can send me my plaque.😁)

If you allow 2 days off for both Christmas and New Year's, you're just over the 15 day published turnaround time, and pressing apparently hasn't started.  It never hurts to call or email CGC customer service...

I sent an email yesterday and today my submission is at CCS In Process so it looks like I’m back on track. Thanks for the suggestion.

  10. Is this cause for concern yet? My High Value books have been pressed, graded and returned already while my Moderns that were in the same box have been counted but not even inputed or scheduled for pressing. I know things are slow around the holidays but I’m afraid my Moderns have been set to the side and need to get back on track. It’s been almost a month with no movement. Is this normal?
