  1. I am not paying $25 to watch a movie online. I will just watch an illegal copy online then. Sites have had it for awhile now, I just prefer to support the property. But when they don't give the consumer viable product, there is no other option for me. $25 for a digital anything is TOO much. At least in the theatres it is an experience. I have to sit at my computer desk for 3 hours on a 17" screen. That is not a viable solution for me at $25.00

At least there is still a HD UltraViolet copy of the film. I was given a code in advance of the Blu-Ray/DVD release, and the quality of the online version is very sharp and plays smooth.
  2. So the dvd release is finally here on Tuesday! I have been staying away from all the discussion about the Ultimate or Director's cut release. I look on Amazon today to place my order and am completely confused.

So it looks like the Ultimate set will only have the 3 hour version in Blu-Ray format however, it is very unclear to me if the the DVD included is the theatrical release only. I don't have a Blu-Ray player and am not purchasing one for one movie.

Hopefully others will purchase this and post here so I can make a decision. I already saw this in the movie theater and only interested in the director's cut.

  3. Hi everyone.

I put my thread on discount and still got requested for a better offer via PM. I totaled up the items and then deducted an additional 5 bucks off. But honestly, it is sitting well with me. 30% isn't enough?

No other action on my thread and no reply to the PM today. I retracted my offer via PM this morning and closed my thread today. Which is what I stated in my thread previously.

Of course nothing is cut and dry, the buyer hasn't read the first email with the offer. I just don't want to have to defend my actions on this forum later on. I want to make sure that what I did is OK with the community.

Are there any rules on a seller retracting an offer?

    Thanks

  4. That was an interesting opinion. Yes, the movie does elicit and stir up uncomfortable feelings. I think that could be the reason for all the negativity surrounding the movie. I found it to be quite joyless myself but appreciated how the actors brought the material to the big screen.

  5. My second surprise double cover.

The Titans 1 - It is more interesting that it has cover a and cover b. Sweet since I wanted the Nightwing cover. It is a thumbnail so click on the image to see the full size

I believe all of those Titans #1s are like that. They either have cover A over cover B OR have cover B over cover A.

Really? I could swear I had a copy a while back and it wasn't like that. It was odd. I posted over on the DC board and someone that has the series didn't mention he had two covers either.

Edit: If anyone can let me know if what Shark is saying is true. I am going to be replacing my set as it isn't NM as advertised and would like to know if the 1st issue needs to be replaced or not. Thanks!

Yeah, they were manufactured purposefully with two different covers.

The guy over on the DC board pulled his copy and he doesn't have a double cover. He collects everything DC and I am fairly certain he picked his off the rack back in 1999. Anyway, GCD does note that both covers are in every issue. This is so strange. Lesson learned to only purchase from vets here that know how to grade. Thanks for the information.

  8. I have a seller question. I have some comics I want to sell and have tried locally without any takers. So now I will have to sell them online but with Regional Priority not available, I am unclear how to ship them now. I see a lot of sellers on ebay are still using Media Mail. Is that viable for comics again?

I started poking around at UPS but that is very expensive. These are cheap moderns that no one wants. :P

  9. Seller washed his hands. I was hoping he would have split the difference but I can understand too. I think it was his bad for not insuring the package as the post office will not even entertain an investigation. Plus I had comics in that order so it should never have been sent via Media Mail. So beware of free shipping from Atomic Avenue. It is a shame as that seller has pristine TPs. I have order from him a few times and probably never again.

Good news is that I was able to find the one book that is a bit harder to get and the comics again. I placed an order for them to be shipped UPS. *Fingers crossed* But I know I will not have a problem with UPS as I know the driver for many years and he doesn't deliver to me until around 6pm.

Unrelated to this site, I purchased some tpbs and a couple of comics. That gave me free shipping from the seller. The fact that comics are not allowed to be shipped via Media Mail, I never thought twice about it until the seller sent the tracking info. Darn Media Mail.

Guess what happened? Package was scanned delivered but missing. Someone was home all day and the package was never delivered. I spoke to the mailman the next morning at the loading dock (I didn't recognize him so I am not even sure that he was my mailman) and he swears he delivered a package to me and upstairs. Go upstairs and they weren't even expecting a package from the post office nor did they receive one. (They did get one from FedEx same day) None of my neighbors ever saw a package outside my door. They all enter the building at different times too. I got several packages this holiday season without any problems.

I have emailed the seller three times since Tuesday over this and requested that he open up a claim. In the meantime, I am going to report this to my local Post Master as clearly something happen and my post office isn't being 100% truthful or doesn't really care. I spoke to the supervisor that morning on the loading docks and he basically waved me off to calling the 1-800 number and complain.

Anyway, I understand that it is the holiday and people travel but the seller hasn't emailed me back. Frankly, I am getting annoyed at the lack of communication. I have purchased from him in the past so I am not a unknown to him either. Right now I am at them point of filing a paypal claim. It isn't a terrible amount of money but I am just frustrated at the amount of time and worry I have invested without one peep from him.

Should I just ride this out until Monday?

I was just tracking a media mail package these last two weeks. It was marked ready for pickup at my po box on the 16th. So I kept checking and no notice left in my box. I finally asked for a supervisor on the 22nd and he checked on found it for me. He said he had his crew catching up on priority mail and they didn't have a chance to do the physical sorting of media mail because of the volume overall.

    So I'd be patient.

I had a First Class package ship on Dec 14th then didn't leave local sorting hub until the 24th. I received an email from the customer at 10pm Christmas Eve telling me that I sucked for not delivering the Christmas present in time. Would have been nice to know a few days earlier so I could have either tracked it down or shipped another. All over a $5 item. :ohnoez:

That sucks. When I was selling, the little orders usually have the biggest problems. They should have contacted you a lot sooner.

I assume it was scanned as "delivered", however, you did not receive it.

If it is scanned as "delivered" on USPS.com, Paypal will side with the shipper.

No difference if it had shipped Priority.

This time of year lots of packages are simply left on doorsteps with barely a knock on the door.

    :(

There is so much that could have happened. But the mailman admits to never knocking. That is one point I will raise with the post master. The other is I have had too many media mail packages prescanned and never delivered for a day or two later. Considering one neighbor comes home mid-afternoon and didn't see anything, I have a feeling it was never delivered.

I know I am out the money. I only wanted to get the seller to communicate back with me. I emailed the website's support, who finally got the seller to contact me back. Of course, he is washing his hands. I tried to file a claim as directed by the 1-800 USPS number and there was no insurance. So I cannot even file a claim. Which again, would not do anything but at least there is a complaint on file through the system. Free shipping is great until all the safety options are taken out of your control and the seller chooses the cheapest method. I still believe it this was Priority Mail, I would have the books in hand.

  12. I doubt I will see that package ever again. I truly hope it does pop up but I live in a large complex. If it was mis-delivered like I believe it was, I have little faith anyone would return it to me. I have had too many packages delivered and left outside until I got home this year. So I cannot image anyone stealing it other than the mailman himself. I hate media mail because it is difficult to get anyone in the post office will investigate it.

The odd thing was seeing the mailman loading up an Enterprise van vs the normal Post office trucks. That is another reason I doubt it was stolen. Who would follow a large Enterprise van? That early morning visit raised a few concerns that I will bring up when I speak with the Post Master on Monday.

  14. I want the Scooby doo sets. That castle is awesome! My favorite recent series was the Monster Fighters. I never did get that wonderful castle though. I have almost the full set of them.

I wanted to post this article that I came across the other day. 13 year old builds a braille lego printer. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/boy-13-builds-braille-printer-legos-starts-company-075500412--finance.html?soc_src=mags&soc_trk=tw

  15. I have been converting my collection over to the complete DVD series recently. Rewatching JL Adventures/ Unlimited and Superman Adventures and they are so good. For me, I say get everything but try for the complete sets. Best buy had them on sale recently for a steal. Be careful about the Batman Animated series complete set as many of those are counterfeit. Same may be true for Batman Beyond.

I highly recommend Teen Titans. It is done with a Japanese animated flair to it but it is so well done and fun. The story line loosely follows Wolfman's 80s comics.

My favorite is Batman Brave and the Bold. It feels like you are reading a comic and there is such fun to be had in every episode.

The Batman series I actually enjoyed this show but it doesn't really pick up until the last season which they do a pair up brave and bold style type episodes. The characters are revisions and aren't to everyone's liking.

I did like Young Justice and the show lost me with the last season. Still extremely worthy of owning but wish they took more of a linear approach.

Must see: Batman Mask of the Phatasm - This could very well mark his Year One in the DCAU

For standalone movies, DC is big on adaptations right now and it isn't to my liking either. I probably should just put the ones I didn't like so much:

    Going on this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Universe_Animated_Original_Movies

JL War - It is based on rebooted DC characters and I hate, hate Superman and Wonder Woman's characterization.

Batman Year One - Unlike Dark Knight Returns which I loved, this fell completely flat for me. I adore the storyline so much too so it is strange.

Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam - This was very short and I don't recall much about it other than it's shortness.

I haven't watched Batman: Assault on Arkham or most of the Superman ones.

Everything else, I enjoyed very much. So for the most part
